- The "clear" choice for a "solid" case! Review by Shane
The installation took a minute as it was difficult to discover how to remove the front from the back of the case. I had to look to the box to see that I needed to pop the bottom corner out first. The two colors for the front face is a nice feature, and if the protective film were ever to scratch I would have a backup to switch out for. The film does a surprisingly good job not scratching or interfering with the touch features on the screen or the fingerprint scanner. Though the film goes over the camera on the face, it does not appear to interfere with images taken. Only in bright daylight does that film become visible over the touchscreen, but still not distractingly so.
The headphone and power plugs at the bottom of the phone have nice little plugs that fit snuggly into the phone and prevent anything unwanted from entering, however the lightning plug fits a little too snugly and I feel like I can never plug it in flush with the rest of the bottom of the case. I haven’t had an issue with aftermarket plugs fitting with the case on, which is good as similar cases have had that issue. The case provides great shock protection but there are holes for the camera on the back, mute button on the side, and microphone and speaker on the bottom. For the sake of these holes I would still be cautious around water, and they do allow lint to travel into the case. Not a lot of lint, but because the case is clear you do see what has escaped from your pocket and hitched a ride in your case.
Overall, there are some great features: Great protection while staying super-thin; See your phone through the clear case; no issues with scratching, finger recognition, or microphone/speaker clarity. The only challenges were: initial installation was not immediately self-evident; the awkwardness of the lightning plug cover; the fact that lint can still travel into the case and is visible. I would certainly recommend this case to anyone as it keeps your phone stylish and safe. (Posted on 11/25/14)
- Not bad for the price, some kinks to work out though. Review by Joshua
- No Bulk
- As other users have said the port covers are hard to push in
- Case does not fully push in on the sides on my 5S, which really bothers me
- Back is plastic, not TPU as I thought it would be.
- Hard To Press Buttons if case is not perfectly aligned
- No home button cover (Posted on 11/2/14)

Before installation, be sure to clean the interior of the case as well as the exterior of your phone, as it will be visible considering this is a clear case and all. For me personally, it was a bit of a struggle to remove the case from the packaging as well as the top part of the case from the bottom. Installation wasn’t as easy as it is for the Trentium but still relatively simple.
The case is made of a flexible plastic that is hard but slightly rubbery. I’m guessing this is to help with taking in shock impacts upon dropping. In any case, so far the case has done a good job protection wise whenever my phone does drop. Size is also another awesome feature. The Alixo is very noticeably thinner than the Trentium. I almost forgot how thin my phone actual is, and its great to be able to utilize this part of the design as I’m not one for bulk cases. The Alixo has port covers for all of the ports except for the mute button, which I’m totally okay with since I have a tendency to switch that on and off frequently, and it’d be a hassle to try flip the cover if it had one. The port covers have inserts that go into the port (for the lightning and aux port), which are helpful in keeping them in place.
Love the integration of the built-in screen protector as well as the thin film material that goes over the home button. For me, the touch sensitivity is great and hasn’t worn off at all, nor does it seem like it will any time soon.
Overall I’m VERY satisfied with this case. Hopefully the clear body won’t discolor as time progresses.
