NewTrent NT100H Review Review by Nicholas
Rating
Overall 5 Stars

First Impression: 4 stars

Out of the box it is nice to hold and comes with clear directions. The soft touch back is nice and keeps it from being as slippery as a wet bar of soap in your hands… Cable is solid and perfect length…

Box was nice as well... I know it does not add to the usefulness of the product but it is nice to see they took the time to make a nice flap with an embossed cover and nice art… if they took that amount of time to make the box look good it makes me feel they took time to engineer a nice product… and in my first week of use it seems they did… read on…

General Use: 5 Stars

It was charged about 50% out of the box. Plugged in my phone and pressed the button to begin charging. It charges as fast as the Samsung 2.1 amp charger (Galaxy 4s) does. I work all over the office all day so I can’t leave my phone plugged in all the time to charge and this worked out perfectly as I was able to pocket both the battery and the phone through my first meetings and MBWA’s/ getting coffee. I then plugged in the battery to charge while I was doing other stuff so I had a nice full charge when I left the office.

Leaving the office to pick up the kid I put the battery in the pocket for cell phones in the Jan Sport bag I carry everywhere, they both fit perfectly. I left the battery in the bag for the rest of the week plugging in my phone during my commute to and from work/daycare. I was able to charge my phone all week on 1 external charge; it only went below 10% on Friday afternoon… I’m pretty forgetful to charge my phone when I have downtime so this came in really a handy when I remembered to charge my phone when I was either on the go or the phone was dying…

Pros:

1 charge lasts all week for me

Easy to use

Small enough to fit in my bag / pocket WITH my phone

Speedy charging so I’m not tied to it when I don’t need to be

Cons:

Does not cause world peace

Does not integrate cold fusion

No other cons (Posted on 3/7/14)
Great traveling battery backup Review by Justin
Rating
This is a nice clean battery backup to carry with you anywhere. It fits in my luggage between the handle insets and the side and literally takes up no room in my bag. It will keep your iPad 4 going for about a 10 hour flight! It will also charge your iPad from about 13% to 81% rather quickly with it's 2A output port. You can charge your cell phone or whatever else plugs into a USB port at the same time!

The only downside to this is the LED on it. I had to use it in Puerto Vallarta the other day overnight to charge my iPad (the hotel I stayed at had different power plugs), anyway the LED's are a bit bright, so I simply turned it over and put it on a washcloth. Problem solved. (Posted on 2/25/14)
Awesome PowerPak 10.0 Review by April

I love this charger. We use it for charging our Samsung Galaxy S3 phones and our Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet. It is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket. We've been using it for about a month and a half now. I like that you can charge both your tablet and your phone at the same time. I also like the different colors that let you know how much charge it has left.

Conclusion: Go out and buy one today. (Posted on 2/22/14)
Great product for on the go charging! Review by Stephanie

Initially upon receiving the New Trent PowerPak 10.0 (NT100H) and New Trent Dual USB Wall Charge (NT90C) I used the Wall Charge and the cable included to charge the PowerPak. The initial charge took less than 3 hours. I then used the PowerPak to charge my Iphone 4s and Ipad2. The USB Wall Charge charged the PowerPak with no problems and I later used it to test compatibility with my Ipad and Iphone. Using the Ipad and Iphone cables I already had, both were able to be simultaneously charged with the dual usb ports provided. This is a great feature when wall plug space is limited. When charging both the Iphone and Ipad simultaneously using the PowerPak, my Iphone was at 0% charge and took about 3 hours to get a full charge. My Ipad was at about 50% charge and was charged in less than 3 hours. After both were at full charge the PowerPak was still within the 75%-100% charged range indicated by the light. The next time I utilized the
PowerPak was during a full day training in which I was using my Ipad and New Trent Keyboard Case. I charged both the Ipad and Keyboard case while using them at the same time. Both charged with no problem while being utilized to take notes and download content from the internet at the same time. After the above mentioned uses, the indicator light on the PowerPak was red indicating it was near time to charge. I again used the USB Wall Charge to replenish it. I was able to use this product for approximately 10 hours of charging on 2 devices concurrently before the indicator light turned red and it still had some charge left before I recharged it.
Since I am frequently in meetings and training that require extended use of my Ipad, keyboard case and cell phone the PowerPak came in very handy as there tends to be 100 members in attendance and very few outlets to charge electronic devices. This product would be very beneficial to business members in long meetings, people traveling with no access to electrical outlets and as a person in the education field I could see this being used in classrooms to hold charges on the electrical devices being used by students to with stain the day without needing to plug in to a wall and charge. A life saver Review by Tim
Rating
My office gets terrible cell reception, and my phone is usually dead by the end of the day. This has helped my to keep it charged even when I don't have a plug. It can fully charge my iPhone 4S about 4 times before it dies. It's not as effective with my iPad, but still charges it long enough to keep it functioning until I get to a place where I can plug it in. It has a light that is useful for telling how charged it is, but it stays lit while you are charging which is annoying, particularly at night. But for the ability to charge with out a plug, the benefits outweigh the annoyance of the light. Great for anyone who travels. (Posted on 2/13/14)

Perfect for on the go charging! Review by Mark
Rating
Small light weight...about the same size as my iPhone 5. Easy and intuitive to use. Has a great LED light that displays remaining charge in the pack as well as confirmation that your device is charging. Perfect for charging your phone while running errands or in any situation where you need a quick charge but can't plug into a wall. A very well built product...does what it says...why can't every product do the same. (Posted on 2/10/14)
Reliable Power bank Review by Abdulaziz

I purchased new trent powerpak 10000 mah for its mobility as it can fit you pocket well , it is a little bit heavy but i think it is the lightest whitch offering 10000 mah in the market , it came with stylish box with openeing sheet style witch contains the battery , 1 meter long micro usb cable and instruction book.

it finished with black smooth material in downside and mate black material in upside and it is fit your hand well , if you looking for a battery to your iphone 5/5s it will be your best choice due to it has almost same length and width and almost double depth of iphone 5/5s , i am always combine the battery with my iphone 5 and connect them with 6" micro usb flexible cable with a tiny lightning converter.

battery have one micro usb port for charging itself and it charged with 5V-1.5AMP and i advice to use +2AMP charger to reduce charging time to half the time if you charge it through computer usb "you have to use your own charger as battery didn't come with a charger" , battery also have two usb ports one with 5V-1AMP output for smartphones and the other usb port with 5V-AMP output for tablets.

charging led colore indicates the level of juice inside the battery starting with green 70-100% , blue 40-70% , red 10-40% and last flashing red under 10%

i use that battery for almost one month and it can charge my iphone 5 for more than 4 1/2 times while using the phone sometimes when charging which means you can get actually +7000mah from the battery so effeciency will be +70% whitch is seems good for me

likes
--------
* Small form factor for the conaining capacity as it fit easily into your jeans pant small pochet
* Automatic power off
* Custom output ports for smartphones and tablets
* Excellent value for cost

dislikes
-----------

* one led with different color is hard when trying to detect the juice still in battery coparing to old 4 led.
* no multi-connection for charging your smartphone or ipad so you should use your own cable.

conclusion

---------------

it is small form battery with 10000mah which can charge almost all smartphones and tablets with solid building and large capacity and i gave it 4 1/2 stars due to dislikes mentioned and i should recommend it for a friend.

Awesome product for a great price Review by Nam

The powerpak has been a great buy for me and is a must own for people who use electronics as much as I do. The powerpak is portable and a good size that it isn't too bulky in my pocket along with my wallet, keys, and cellphone. It's also a very aesthetically pleasing and looks as if it would cost more than expected for such a device. Although I haven't had it very long, it seems to be durable and I would rate it an overall 4 out of 5.

My only negative comment so far is of the battery indicator that is a broad spectrum based on colors, although it isn't a deal breaker.

I have recommended this battery pack to two of my friends and they are very happy with their products as well. (Posted on 2/3/14)
Initially great, but died very soon Review by Justin
Rating
Pretty awesome. I got a battery pack this past summer by Cross, and although this one has less capacity, I much prefer it. The other one was bulky and felt cheap, while this one has a very sleek and appealing finish on both sides (one is metal, the other rubberized). One thing I do wish was different were the light. I like the look, but practically, the fact that it is so large and bright and blinks while getting charged repels me from charging it in my bedroom, which (although it hasn't happened yet) will probably lead to me forgetting it often. Another complaint would be the cable. Though I haven't had it long enough to have any trouble yet, it feels and looks like a very cheap and poorly made cable in general and can see it getting worn out soon (I've frayed through the ends of two other microUSB cables as I travel with them in my backpack and am also a heavy phone user, meaning I need to coil and uncoil these cables often).

EDIT: This died within a month. It no longer charges any of my devices. The battery pack itself can charge fine, but it does not output any charge. I've tried different cables and tons of different devices, but it's most definitely broken, in almost no time and with not very much use. Sad. (Posted on 1/30/14)
New resident of my travel bag Review by Eric
Rating
Upon receipt the NT100H LED light was showing blue (40-75% full). Charged up until it was green for about 3 hours. I used the NT100H to charge a Samsung Galaxy S3. The S3's battery was at about 70% and the NT100H charged the phone up to 100% in about 2 hours.

However, I did notice that the NT100H was off after the charging time was longer (probably 4+ hours?). For example, overnight when the S3 was at 59%, I plugged it into the NT100H and the next morning the phone was no longer charging, as it was at 95%. Unless this is by design where the powerpak senses the phone is at full charge and stops charging it.

Pros:
- It's actually slimmer than the NT70T I had, so it's still very portable while not adding much more weight due to the extra capacity
- The included USB to micro USB cable is great both for charging the unit and charging devices (no need to carry extra cables)
- The matte finish is less prone to fingerprint smudges and feels secure in the hand

Cons:
- The one LED approach is not too good at showing the actual battery capacity (a simple numerical battery percentage or 4 LED display, like the NT70T would work better)
- At 10000mAh capacity, more than 2 USB ports would be welcome (e.g two 1A ports and one 2A port)

Overall, this is a great device. I would rate it a 4 out of 5 (would rate 4.5 but no 1/2 stars here). It's definitely going to be a resident of my travel bag. (Posted on 1/28/14)
Very rugged; feels great in the hands Review by furrever
Rating
I really like the fit and finish of this phone/tablet charger by New Trent. It's surprisingly small; and not overly heavy. The LED light indicator is great for indicating how much life is left in the charger. I was amazed at how may recharges I was able to get for my iPad and iPhone on a single charge. The dual USB ports provide snug fits and are clearly labeled so that you know which one is for higher-capacity devises (e.g. tablets) vs. lower-capacity devices (e.g. mobile phones and MP3 players).

It would be nice if the unit included the NT90C (or comparable AC wall charger) so that you wouldn't have to order this separately. It would also be nice if a legend for the LED light (i.e. an explanation of the green, blue, red, and flashing states) was discreetly printed on the underside of the device. I read this information in the instructions, but can never seem to remember it. So, I've resorted to bringing the instructions with me when traveling. However, I suspect it won't be long before I misplace them.

But these are just nit-picks, so I still give it a five-star rating as it does what I purchased it to do -- charge my iDevices multiple times when I'm traveling on business and not near an outlet.

Note: It wasn't clear to me from the item description, but this unit includes a mini-to-USB cord for use with either an AC wall charger (the New Trent NT90C works nicely) or a computer with a powered USB port. (Posted on 1/10/14)
Good PowerPak to have Review by Mike
Rating
Over all it is a great power pack I like to have, two USB ports can expand time of most mobile/tablets devices I tested. I will give it 4.5 if I could.

I like the size of the Powerpak and considerable capacity. It is just about same size as my iPhone but a little thicker. I tried to charge my iPhone 4/5S/iPad 3/Kindle Fire 8.9/Lenovo ThinkPad. The battery can charge them at same rate as use AC charger. But It took about 3 hour to charge iPad 3 from 40% to 95% then runs out juice. This will be lower than it claims to expand 8 hours on iPad.
It took about 4 hours to charge from 1% to 81% on ThinkPad tablet. I have no battery capacity in hand about ThinkPad tablet but I am happy it can boost the ThinkPad from 1% to 81%

The reason I don't give 5 start is
The first: the device weighs about 7 7/8 oz, it will be little heavy if put in the pocket or a purse though it may not be avoided because it has 10000mAh capacity.
The second: it takes 9-10 hours to fully charge itself from Red to Green. Though due its big capacity, I am expecting 1/3 to half time shorter that current time it takes. (Posted on 11/26/13)
Great Product Review by Anna

The New Trent Powerpak 10.0 portable charger has replaced my Zagg charger as my go to portable charger. It is a bit lighter and less bulky. It also matches the size of my iPhone 5s in an otterbox within a few millimeters. I use my phone all day and one battery charge does not always last. This charger is easy to use, and I love that it warns me when the power is low. When I unplug my phone, the charger powers down on its own. The different light indicators give me time to locate an alternate power source if needed (typically another New Trent portable charger). Great product, user friendly design, able to charge more than one device simultaneously. I would love a lighter weight charger, but for the capacity and ability to charge my phone at least three full charges of one (ymmv), the weight of the charger is worth every ounce

Didn't Know How Much I Needed This Until I Had It Review by Skip
Rating
NT100H New Trent PowerPak 10.0

Total score between 1-5: 5

First impression of product: It’s barely bigger than my phone! Seeing that in a picture on the inside cover or on newtrent.com or amazon.com is nothing compared to opening the box and seeing it in person.

Price Point: Pretty fair given the quality of the PowerPak. I’ve actually looked into purchasing similar products before (on amazon.com) and found that if the price was low, it kind of seemed like it was shoddy work and easily breakable, something I don’t find true of New Trent products. Not having tested out all those other products, I don't know if I'm right about that, but I did feel that the PowerPak was a good price for what it does.

Visual: This is one of those times where size matters. Just as easily as I pocket my iPhone, I can pocket this portable battery pack. The top is shiny with a bright indicator light. Bottom of PowerPak seems sturdy, non-slip, and everything there is clearly labeled, which I found very helpful.

Functionality: Right out of the box, the PowerPak managed to charge my iPhone, then my sister’s iPhone and her PSVita -- all of them full cycle charges -- and it still had energy for a partial charge of my first gen iPad and a few more quick partial charges to my phone… all of this before I had to finally charge the PowerPak. That’s a big deal. That’s huge. Then I charged it through my desktop computer’s USB port for approximately five hours -- the green light had been blinking for about an hour when I stopped -- and went through all of it all over again. I also found it possible to use the New Trent IMP90C dual USB wall charger to charge the PowerPak, so take a look at that product here on newtrent.com when you get the chance. The PowerPak seemed to charge my iPhone 4S and the PSVita portable game console the fastest. The charges on those devices lasted their normal duration before needing to be charged again, so it wasn’t as if this was somehow a ‘weaker’ charge.

Biggest pro(s): Small in size, ability to charge two devices at once, duration between 100% charging capacity and 0%. All big factors when considering a portable charger; all factors New Trent gets correct.

Important con(s): Most of what bothered me about the product was cosmetic or aesthetic in nature. The matte black finish showed fingerprints instantaneously, even when I made sure my hands were washed prior to handling the product, so it stopped looking brand new fairly quickly. If that’s one of the only big drawbacks I can find to the PowerPak as a whole, that speaks well for how impressed I am with the major features of it.

Other points of interest: While the manual gives a fairly good definition of the multi-colored LED lights and their meaning when they’re a solid color, it doesn’t say that the light will flash the entire time that you’re going to charge it, so be on the lookout for that to happen and don't worry that it's some malfunction.

In short: There’s really no end to the ways I consider this device helpful. As a phone gets older, its battery holds less of a charge; with the NT100H PowerPak, you can have that as a backup and not worry that you won’t have power in case of emergency. While there are a good many business applications, I’ll leave you with another place I see it being a useful tool: vacations. Whether it’s because everyone else you’re with is taking up all of the sockets with their cords for video games, smartphones, and tablets… or whether you’re standing in line somewhere and your phone or digital camera is on low battery because of all of the photographs you’ve been taking (of everything)... the PowerPak is perfect for a quick charge and battery boost. I didn’t know how much I needed this until I had it. (Posted on 11/23/13)
Improve the instruction manual Review by Ismail
Rating

The instruction manual is a little lacking when it comes to how to operate the battery pack. It's standard type stuff with holding it down to shut it off etc.The battery pack never even exceeded ambient room temperature. seemed to get hot like some electronics tend to do. It is very compact and lets you charge two things at once.

Awesome battery! Review by Brian
Rating
I thoroughly enjoyed this item it is a very solid product and is very
reliable. This battery provided enough power to charge an Iphone up to four
times to full capacity while allowing for continued use of the phone. I
have noticed with other external batteries that phone usage while charging
the phone affected power consumption of the battery pack. It is not the
case with this battery pack. I also noticed that this battery pack does not
heat up the device it is charging even during use of the phone or tablet.
The battery is compatible with all versions of the Iphone and Ipads. This
battery pack also offers the option 1amp and 2.1amp charging rates. The
battery pack come with a micro-usb cord for charging battery pack and has a
brightly lit LED light that indicates that the battery pack is charging.
Additionally, the LED light changes colors while the battery is being used
to indicate the life or power remaining in the battery. I would highly
recommend this product and would give it a five star rating. (Posted on 11/23/13)
Great for working long hours Review by NamKapow

Just recently bought the new Trent power pack 10.0, so far it has been awesome. Sometimes all the chargers are taken up at home so I use this to charge my HTC one and my nexus 7. It can charge my nexus 7 from empty or my HTC one 3-4 times. This is amazing for work as well, a long day of shooting weddings, I'm able to charge everyone's phones throughout the day. The only thing I would add or change is two 2.1 amp ports instead of one. Also on a side note the led to indicate charge is insanely bright and doubles as a flashlight that doesn't hurt your eyes. Powerpak to the rescue! No more dead phone. Review by Ben
Rating
The New Trent Powerpak impressed me from the start. Even the packaging it came in looked aesthetically pleasing and well-designed. I fully charged it before using it and it has been working perfectly to charge my Android tablet and HTC One smart phone at full AC speed through the 2.1A USB charge port. The 1A USB charge port also simultaneously charged another phone at USB speeds same as charging through a USB port on a computer. I was able to fully charge my HTC One from dead to 100% twice and the power LED only turned from green to blue, which is impressive. The Powerpak feels solid and sturdy. The top has a smooth matte finish and the bottom has a nice rubberized texture. The only minor con is the size of the LED indicator area. It is unnecessarily large and bright. The green LED flashed and lit up my entire dark room as the Powerpak charged. A smaller indicator would be appreciated and having it shine the whole time the phone is charging feels like it's using up some charge as well. The device being charged already indicates that it is charging so having the charging LED on the Powerpak seems redundant. Overall, I rate the New Trent Powerpak 4 out of 5. Great product! Very pleased with this Powerpack Review by Jeremy
Rating
OVERALL SCORE: 5 out of 5

EXTERIOR:
Excellent choice of finish on the powerpack. The dull matte finish looks great and hides fingerprints. On a device that gets moved around a lot between purses, bags, vehicles, etc., not having a "piano black" finish that shows every little print is a good thing.

USAGE:
Very impressed with the usage of the device. So far, have had no problems charging the devices below with the NT100H. Charging 2 devices simultaneously works great.

iPhone5 Both 1.0A and 2.1A ports OK
iPhone5S Both 1.0A and 2.1A ports OK
Nexus 7 Both 1.0A and 2.1A ports OK
iPad 2 2.1A port only (sometimes 1.0A port gives charging error)

Excellent product that provides a simple way to keep multiple devices charged. Handy to be able to charge my phone while using it without having to be near a fixed charger or a super long, expensive lightning cable. Now, I can simple move the powerpack with the phone as needed.

Very pleased with the 2 New Trent devices I have now - The NT90C wall charger and now the NT100H powerpack. (Posted on 11/21/13)

The NT100H New Trent PowerPak 10.0 is a great product.

Trent USB Portable Power Pack
5-5 I have been using it since I got it and I cannot tell you how many compliments I have gotten. With a sleek black finish and compact size, it is the same size as my iPhone, which makes it easier to carry in any pocket. It shipped in two days and came in a well designed box which makes it feel even that much more elegant, the box contains information that breaks down what all the wattages mean, and breaks down the charges for each device. Which is great if you are not sure about watages. A 5 out of 5, I haven't found one negative thing and so many of my friends have already asked where they could order one.

Perfect Powerpak for Everyday Use. Review by Robert
Rating
Love this NewTrent Powerpak. It's perfect for everyday business use. It's always in my briefcase ready to provide backup charge for my iPhone and iPad.

There are a lot of options to choose from when shopping for an external battery pack. I admit to a NewTrent bias based on previous good experience with their products. I chose this one because it meets the capacity need and because the design was so appealing for a business environment. Simple and functional.

This powerpak does look good in the photos, it was a nice surprise to find that it is just impressive in the hand. This is a beautiful design, well executed with quality materials and surfaces. It really is an elegant design, it doesn't get much simpler, or cleaner, in design detailing. Function control and LED indicator is as simple as it gets. One button for on/off. One LED indicator that changes color depending on the charge level of the internal battery.

For me, this is a perfect carry-along in the briefcase. It's compact, about the size of an iPhone, a bit thicker but still slim enough to carry in a pocket when necessary. It's easy to use and unassuming in size and visual impact, which is good if it needs to be on a conference table with other gadgets during a meeting or presentation.

Functionally, it does what NewTrent says it does. It has dual USB ports so you can charge two devices at the same time. One is 2A for iPads so you have the full design charge current available. I haven't timed the charging period but it seems as quick as any other method. As an on-the-go backup I usually only have to charge this once a week, but my devices are also charged at home as needed. I rely on this to fill the gaps when I'm on location or traveling.

Works perfectly and a pleasure to use. A solid 5 Stars and highly recommended. (Posted on 11/16/13)
NT100H PowerPak Xteme battery pack Review by Jason
Rating
I recently got the NT100H PowerPak Xteme
I am extremely happy with it. The feel of the pack itself is fantastic. The slightly rubberized back is excellent at keeping the pack in place while in travel. the size of the pack makes it very easy to slip into a coat pocket or even pants pocket. the LED light is very easy to understand and also very bright. the led lights in 3 colors, green full charge, blue about half way and red when low. I also like the AUTO CHARGE start feature just plug in phone or tablet and it starts. simple press of the bottom will flash led light the current state of charge in the pack. Having the ports labeled for smartphones and tablets is an excellent idea also. Sometimes the generic port 1, port 2 can be hard to remember what each one is for or more specifically the output amperage. I used this item with a Moto X and a Iphone 4, I was able to charge each about twice, all times phonesd were below 10% charge. I am very happy with the capacity of this battery pack. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and would easily recommend it to everyone and anyone looking for that little bit of extra battery during the day. last thing to add, think about it, end of the day battery is running low on your phone but of course your still using it, where do you want to sit, by a wall outlet or on the couch while phone or tablet charges fromk the battery pack.

A great product for anyone who is mobile Review by Dustin
Rating
The New Trent NT100H PowerPak 10.0 is a great product for anyone who is mobile. I used it at school and at home. The PowerPak is about the size of a cell phone, but is slightly thicker and heavier. It is a convenient size to fit in a jacket pocket, but I just carried it in my backpack. There are 2 ports: one for smartphones, one for tablets. Each port is labeled for its respective device. I used the PowerPak for my Droid Razr and it worked great. There is an LED light that lets you know when the unit is charged/charging. The light changes color to let you know the status of the battery. I would have liked to have seen a label on the unit that identifies what the LED's represent. (Posted on 11/15/13)
Very solid charging solution Review by Matthew
Rating
My first impression of The New Trent powerpak 10.0 battery charger is that
it feels like it is very good quality. Right out of the box it is very
smooth feeling and has a little weight to it, I'd much prefer that than a
light feeling, piece of plastic.

I have used it several times so far to
charge my HTC One phone, and I still have yet to need to recharge the
powerpack. It also charges my phone just as fast as a good wall charger and
maybe a little faster. If you aren't near a wall charger or car charger for
an extended period of time, I'd definitely recommend this product to keep
your phone/tablet charged up! This is the third New Trent product that I
own, and will without a doubt buy more as needed or even for gifts. (Posted on 11/15/13)
Sturdy build, simple interface, efficient charging Review by Sean
Rating
Nicely designed - clean, compact and very solid. Feels sturdy and very durable, and case feels like it would "wear" very well. Definitely heavier than my phone, but overall profile is not much larger, which means it's extremely portable.

Extremely simple interface - charge connector and two USB ports on top, and the indicator light/on button on top of the front face. Indicator light is green when PowerPak is fully charged, green when in mid-range and red when device is at low charge. Ships with charging cable, which is a plus, but no plug. (As a result, must use plug from the device you're charging or another third-party manufacturer.)

Major plus is that device seems to provide more reliable, consistent and faster charge than standard cable/plug that come with device. Tested on a Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Would prefer to have a little more documentation - in packaging or on device - with instructions about which device to plug in to which USB port, estimated times for charging certain mainstream devices from 0%, 50%, etc., and how long it takes to fully re-charge the charger. Documentation on box does explain the output of 5V, 2.1A and 5V, 1A for the two ports, but novice users might not know what those mean, or how that dictates which devices to charge. premium mobile charging device Review by Tom

Its length and width is about the same size as the an iPhone 5, however, its is quite a bit thicker and heavier. In fact, its volume and mass is 1.23 times greater than my Samsung Note 2. Despite this it is still very portable. The back of the unit has anice velvet texture that hides finger prints and adds friction when placed on smooth surfaces.

The NT-1000H will charge itself from a wall outlet while also charging other devices. It can also simultaneous charge two devices from its two charge ports. On the back of the unit ports 1 and 2 are clearly marked as 5V-2.1A and 5V-1A, respectively. It charged my freshly rebooted Note 2 from 25% to 100% in 8.5 hours on port 2.

There is a semi-circular power button adjecent to the similarly shapedLED indicator. The LED changes color from green, blue and red as a rough indication of its charge level (75-100%, 40-75%, and 0-40%). It will flash red at 0-10%. This LED is very bright, which is fine during the day, however, beside my bed at night I found it a bit too distracting until I wedged it between my mattess and my night stand. Covering the LED with tape is another simple solution.

Upon connecting it to my Note 2, the unit woke up and began charging.  Depressing the power button for a few seconds turns the unit off and, of course, stops charging any connected devices. However, turning the unit back on did not automatically start charging my Note 2. To resume charging it I had to disconnect the cable and reconnect it. However, this was unnecessary with my daughters iPod 5.  Upon my Note 2 reaching 100% charge, the NT-1000H didn't turn-off (LED light stayed on). Once I disconnected the devices it does turnoff.

My overall impression is the NT-1000H feels and operates like a premium product and is an extremely good value for the price of this practical charge-on-the-go devive.

The Powerpack is small, sleek, and very lightweight... but holds a charge capable of bringing my dead 3rd generation iPad & NewTrent NT38B keyboard back to life at the same time. It also worked great on my iPhone4 & my wife's Nook tablet. What a versatile device! It has charged everything that I have thrown at it without a problem... so far. Top of the Line Battery Pak Review by Matt

I have been using the product for about an hour after charging and I must say...This is the best battery pack ive owned (also own a Anker® SlimTalk 3200mAh Backup External Batter)

I wanted to knock the device for not having a power supply but my other one did not as well and in 2013, everyone pretty has 2 or 3 chargers laying around that aren't being used.

The product is sturdy, which I love and I also love the fact that I have both my tablet and Note 2 connected. I cannot wait to take this thing on a vacation. All in all i give this device a rating of 5 out of 5! (Posted on 11/12/13)

Great product for charging many devices Review by Graham

Product: NT100H - High Capacity Portable Charger.

Packaging: 5
Build: 4.5
Contents: 4

Overall: 4.5

The NT100A was an overall great device. Upon arrival I was very impressed
with its packaging and while this lends nothing to the usefulness of the
product itself, i feel that it helps the overall experience greatly. The
unit is the perfect balance of weight and portability. Holding it for the
first time i felt immediately comfortable with just throwing it in a bag
for travel or placing it in my pocket for a short trip. The size of the
NT100H is compact but not tiny, it will fit into your pocket or bag, or
purse, without adding too much extra weight. The design is simple of
functional and the brushed black aluminum casing is excellent. The
aluminum body keeps the unit cool even after 12 hours of testing, one of my
favorite features. The NT100H comes with a built in LED light system that
helps to identify how much charge is left in the device. The unit plugs
directly into any PC or can use a USB wall charger(not included). The only
issue I had with this unit is that the micro USB port on the device was
very tight and made it difficult to plug and unplug the device. I charged
6 devices(a Samsung Galaxy S3, Iphone 5, Ipad 2, Ipod Touch 2G, Samsung
digital Camera, and a Nexus 7 2012) over a 12 hour period and still had
half a charge left, AMAZING! The LED lights start at green for a 75%+
charge then degrade to blue, red, and then flashing red. When the unit is
done charging the LED shuts off and, because of the LED's brightness, gives
the user a very reasonable way to check on the status of their product.
The NT100H also has different ports for tables and phones, allowing users
to properly charge different types of devices. The rate of charge seems
comparable to the stock wall charger that comes with any device, if not a
little slower. Overall I am very impressed with the NT100H and would
recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy, compact, high capacity mobile
charger. (Posted on 11/12/13)
Best batter charger I've ever seen! Review by Cody
Rating
I have tried other batter power packs for my phone in the past and this one blows the others away. There are two main selling points for me. First, the charger works fast. Typically with external chargers, charging is slow and drawn out. I would place this external as the same charge rate as the traditional plug in. Second, the easy display of the LED lights. While there is no direct screen to tell you the exact percentage of remaining battery, the color-coded light display gives you enough approximation that it works just as well. The phone design is a copy-cat of the shape of a new iPhone and fits well in a pocket or purse. The only downside is that the weight is slightly more than an iPhone, which is to be expected. The charger includes a "direct to USB" cord. An AC cord is not included, but the fitting is pretty universal and I imagine you have one laying around the house or in a junk drawer. Love this charger and it comes in
super handy. I'm very pleased by the Newtrent external batter charger powerpak. (Posted on 11/11/13)

The New Trent NT100H 10.0 PowerPak is an amazing external battery. It charges my Samsung Galaxy S4 about 3 times before it is dead. I was able to go away from Friday to Sunday and rely only on the power provided by this battery. The battery automatically shuts itself off when it is not supplying power to an external device. The different colored light makes it easy to get a general idea of how much battery is left once you learn what each color means. Overall this is a phenomenal product and I would definitely give it a 5 out of 5. (Posted on 11/8/13)

Great Charging ability in a compact size! Review by Erich
Rating
I really like this charger and it’s quickly becoming my go to whether I am at home or on the road. It’s about the same size as my iPhone 5 and only slightly thicker so it’s not too bulky to slip into a pocket if needed. I am able to get a full six charges from it for my phone and it also charges my iPad. The charger does not come with an AC adapter so I would recommend getting one (Like the IMP90C) if you do not have one that’s at least 5v 1.5 amps.

The LED on the charger has three different colors which helps show you how much juice you have left. I also like that the LED flashes when it’s getting close to the next charge level so it really gives you six different measures of battery state (Solid Green, Flashing Green, Solid Blue, Flashing Blue, Solid Red, Flashing Red) which is handy when you travel often like I do.

If you’re looking for a portable charging solution that is well made, easy to carry, and will charge your phone & tablet at the same time the NT100H is your best bet!

Best portable battery, especially for the price Review by Raul
Rating
When I received the rechargeable portable battery, I was excited to try it out. It came in the mail rather fast – about a day sooner than the earliest amazon estimated it to come. I thought that the company really deserves credit for how prompt they ship their products! When I opened the package, the box looks pretty neat and inside, I saw that the portable battery and the usb chord was secure in it (awesome considering the risks connected to shipping items). The product, itself, has a simple, yet elegant design. I pressed the on button and the green light showed up. I checked with the manual and the green light indicates 75 – 100% charge. I was startled because I did not have to charge it before I connected my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone(with almost no charge left). I therefore proceeded to hook up the usb to my phone and charged it with the portable battery. It took about 2 hours and my phone was charged to full capacity and the portable battery still had the green light on. Since my phone battery can contain about 1600 mah and there was only a quarter left of its previous charge, the math basically tells me that about 1000~1200 mah were used up in the portable batter and it still indicates that it has a lot of power left for more charging. Hence, unlike some other portable batteries, this seems really close to its description of having 10,000 mah capacity. No doubt, this is a lot for its price tag. Definitely worth it!

The following day, I charged my phone once again (this time it was 62% full) and the light turned blue after the charge. I then connected the portable battery to the Dual Port AC Charger and the light started blinking green. It was not in the manual but it was obvious that it meant that it was charging. When the light finally became solid green, I knew it was fully charged. The AC Charger was very convenient and with another cord, I can charge another device simultaneously with my portable charger.

I really love the products I receive from Trent and so I would like to offer some suggestions that I thought may be useful for their future products. They could perhaps include an indicator of the percentage of charge left in the portable battery than just having the light indicating a range of charge. Either that or the company could potentially install some application in which the portable battery can indicate its charge on a connected phone. In this way, a more accurate measure of the remaining charge is indicated. (Posted on 11/7/13)

Excellent quality, usability, and performance Review by John
Rating
Since I haven't used many New Trent products, I wasn't sure what to expect upon receiving the power pack, but I sure was pleasantly surprised by it.

The build quality was the first thing I noticed, it feels like a truly high end device due to it's solid construction. The bottom of the device is a soft touch matte black giving it a nice feel and also preventing it from sliding around when placed on a surface. The top is metal painted in a matte black and feels very solid. There's a single button on the top which, when pressed, illuminates a nice LED light, which conveys the current charging status with a simple green, blue, or red color scheme. The LED light is also illuminated while charging a device. On the only side with ports there are two standard USB ports for charging devices and one micro USB port for recharging the battery. One of the USB ports is labeled for charging a smartphone and the other is for charging a tablet. The tablet port is capable of a higher amperage that's useful for charging a tablet quickly, which is very useful. Of course, this port is also capable of charging a standard smartphone. Both ports can be used simultaneously, which is an awesome feature. Included is a single micro USB cord, which also feels like a very quality cable. Overall the device feels solid, well built, and of premium quality.

The dimensions of the device place it just smaller than my Galaxy S3, albeit about twice as thick. I wouldn't recommend pocketing it on a day to day basis, but it would definitely fit in a pinch. During my testing, I've kept it comfortably stored in my backpack.

The performance of the device is also quite impressive. I've been using it on my Nexus 7 (2012) and Galaxy S3. For reference, the 2012 Nexus has a massive 4300mAh battery while the S3 has a respectable 2100mAh battery. In testing, I was able to recharge both the Nexus tablet and Galaxy S3 from about 25% to full, TWICE. After this, the charger was flashing red, indicating it was nearly dead, but with some charge left. I'll certainly never worry about my battery dying ever again when I have this charger.

My only small gripe with the device is the brightness of the LED light - it's BRIGHT. If you were in a pinch and wanted to use this instead of a wall charger at night, you'll want to flip it over so that it doesn't turn into a night light. Since it's a battery pack, flipping it over is easy, so this is only a very minor inconvenience.

Overall this device has exceeded all of my expectations. It's very well built, has two charging ports, a massive capacity that it lives up to, and looks great. I'll recommend it to anyone who wants such a large capacity battery and I know I'll be taking it with me on all trips from now on.

Pros:
- Excellent Build Quality
- Two USB charging ports
- Convenient LED status light
- Massive capacity and excellent performance
- Nice size for the capacity

Cons:
- The LED status light can double as a night light.

Fantastic Product Works Great 5 STARS ***** Review by Ian

When I received the NT100H it came partially pre-charged I brought it to
work with me the first day that I received it and began using it shortly
after as the battery life on my smart phone is terrible. After several days
I was able to get about 4 cell phone charges out of this power pak before
having to recharge it, this is all just on the partial charge that it came
with.
Pros:
the power pak is a good weight to be carried around in a backpack, purse,
or pocket while charging your device.
It is able to sustain and continue to charge my smart phone while I am
using the phone.
Holds a sufficient amount of cell phone charges that anyone should be able
to keep their phone charged for a day and more likely several days before
having to recharge the power pak.
Has two ports for dual charging.
Charges off the same wall charger that my cell phone uses no need to buy
extra wires.
Comes with USB cord to connect to wall charger or to charge your device
from.
Versatile as many devices now charge from USB cords
All around a great product.

Cons:
Would be better if both ports had 2.1 output (not a huge problem)
not a huge problem however could use a better led indicator to know when
power pak is charged 100% green light indicates about 75-100%.

All around this product is fantastic I would recommend it to anyone who is
in the market for something to keep their phone useable and charged for
prolonged periods of time. (Posted on 11/6/13)

Great Spare Battery. Great for piece of mind. Review by Paul
Rating
The NT100H feels very well made. The top of the case is smooth metal and the bottom is rubberized to make it slip proof. It feels solid and sleek with nicely rounded edges. It is roughly the same size and weight as most smartphones so it is very convenient to carry with you.

It is smarter that other spare batteries I have had. When you hook it to a smartphone or tablet that needs charging, it automatically turns on and once the device is charged it automatically turns off. I carry this in a backpack all day. My previous spare battery from another manufacturer would accidentally turn on and when I needed it, would be partially discharged. Not the NT100H. It has not lost any charge despite being jostled around in my backpack while I bicycle to work.

I decided to try this on every device I had in my house. It worked to chargean iphone. It worked on my droid smartphone and it worked on my wife's Toshiba tablet and on my Asus tablet. I even used it to charge my bluetooth headset on my motorcycle helmet.

For the grand finale, I used it to charge my tablet and my Droid RZR at the same time. The tablet was at a 20% charge and the Droid at 30% when I started. It charged both of them to a full charge in the same time that they would have charged on the regular chargers and still had some battery life left.

This will give me some piece of mind when I am camping an not near electrical outlets. I have used it to keep my Droid charged for three days under heavy usage. Great portable power pak. (Posted on 11/4/13)

This is nice charger....My favorite New Trent to date. At 10,000 mAh, it has multiple recharging capability with power comparable to wall chargers without being too bulky. The NT100H is about the same size as an typical iPhone or Android, although it's a little thicker. It has a really nice sleek look to it with its smooth black casing. I can simply put my phone and the PowerPak back to back to carry it around or stack it while it charges. My favorite feature of this unit is the half circle charge indicator which lets you know how much life is left in the PowerPak. Other models I've used simply have multiple red lights, but this one has a color code indicator for power percentages remaining. Green for 70-100%, Blue for 40-75%, Red for 10-40%, and Blinking Red for 0-10%. The other part of the half circle is the power button, so it's easy to find and use. This unit comes with two USB ports to support 5v-1A and 5V-2.1A (dual) charging for items such as iPhones, cameras, and tablets. The unit does not come with a wall type charger, but the micro<->USB cord (included) allows you to charge the unit via a computer or USB charger. All in all, you can't go wrong with the New Trent brand, and this unit is no exception. (Posted on 11/1/13)

Awesome pocket charger Review by Sergio

I just got my NewTrent PowerPak 10.0 a few days ago. I already own the 120R but wanted another one I am keeping my 120r at work since its rugged and I am keeping the PowerPak 10.0 for home and road trip use. My kids both have and itouch and they like to play games on them a lot so this charger is very convenient since it has two charging port and can fully charge both of their devices with no problem on a 5 hour round trip. The PowerPak 10.0 almost the size of my iphone4 with its heavy duty case, just about ¼ of an inch longer. It has a mat black back with labels over the connection port and semi gloss black on the top with the 3 color charge indicator. The back part offer a little bit of grip but if you are going to let your kids us it expect to have oily finger prints all over the back after eating any kind of food or snack with oil, other than that I have no other negatives about the back. Out of the box the color charge indicator was color blue which is supposed to be between 40-70% charged and 2 and a half hours later it was fully charged and blinking green.
The first day I charged my itouch which was completely drained and took about two hours to fully charge. Later I charged my Iphone4 which was at about 10% charge and it took about 4 hours to charge but I was still using it for about 30 minutes while it was charging. Then that night I plugged my phone in before going to bed and it was fully charged by the time I woke up around 4am. That being said the PowerPak had enough juice to charge my Iphone 4 from 19% up to 60% before it was fully drained. This charger is great to carry in a inside jacket pocket since it is about the size of a smart phone. I might just get another one for my girlfriend since she has not had much luck with her car chargers, so that she can carry it in her purse and not take up too much space. Over all I give it a 5 out of 5 due to its sleek look, size, and amount of charges I was able to get out of it. Only thing I might like to see different is maybe the 4 led power indicator like the 120R to get a better guage of battery level, and maybe a rubber coating on the back part for better grip on surfaces if you have it in your car but so far the texture it has is working fine for me. nice accessory Review by Ed

This is a nice smartphone accessory that provides a way to conveniently charge your device apart from a wall outlet. The powerpack is small sized, only slightly bigger than an iPhone, and fairly light, maybe 2-3 times the weight of an iPhone. In my hands the powerpack takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge and then it was able to charge my iPhone 5 (depleted to less than 50% charge) about 4-5 times. The charging time seemed quick, about the same as if the phone was plugged into a normal wall outlet. The powerpack also has two USB ports, one low amperage one for smartphones only and another higher amperage one for tablets and smartphones. In addition, the powerpack has a color-coded indicator light that shows how much power the powerpack currently holds. The portability and quick charge capability make this a great accessory to any smartphone. The only things I did not like about his device was that when i hooked up my iPad to the powerpack, it quickly drew down the energy in the powerpack and it was depleted before the iPad could be fully recharged (and that was starting with an iPad with a charge of about 50%). Also, in my opinion a $40 pricetag for this device is a bit more than i would like to pay- $25-30 would be more reasonable in my opinion.

PROS:
small and light
able to charge smartphone about 4-5 times
2 USB ports
color-coded power indicator

CONS:
no AC adapter
not enough charge for an iPad
slightly high priced in my opinion (Posted on 10/31/13)

New Trent NT100H PowerPak 10.0 Overall Rating 4.0

Features - 5.0
The unit is black with a very comfortable rubberized backing that makes the unit feel secure while holding it and which keeps in stationary on any surface.
There is one micro USB input port on one end of the unit that accepts the micro USB to USB cable that is supplied with the unit to charge it via either a computer connection or a wall charger connection. This input port is clearly marked in white letters for easy visibility on the back of the unit underneath the input port.

There are two standard USB output ports on the same end of the unit as the input port. The ports accept standard USB to device-specific connector cables to charge the device directly from the PowerPak 10.0. These ports are clearly marked in white letters as being designed to charge either 5V- 2.1A tablets or 5V - 1A smartphones. These markings are on the back of he unit underneath the respective USB output port.

The unit has a power on/off button which, when pressed, activates a half-moon shaped LED that indicates the remaining available power level of the unit. When charging the unit to load it with power, this LED blinks in either red (low), blue (medium) and green (high) to visually show the user the progress of the charge until it completes the charge and remains lit in solid green. When using the unit to charge a device, the LED automatically lights as the cables are connected, showing the remaining amount of power remaining in the unit using the same color scheme.

The size and shape of the unit is nearly identical to an iPhone 5. Naturally, it is thicker than an iPhone, as one would expect. In my opinion, this is the perfect shape for transport and storage.
The unit is rated at 10000mAh which is quite powerful for both repeated full charges to a smartphone or for keeping a device from shutting down for quite some time.

Functionality - 4.0
I performed four test charges to the unit as well as to a device four times. My intention was to determine how well this PowerPak would perform with a full charge available to a nearly power-depleted device of various types.

Charging my iPhone 4S. It performed flawlessly. The LED illuminated upon connection of the cables. The LED remained illuminated during the charge. The charge time was reasonable at under 2 hours. The remaining available charge on the PowerPak was still very high as indicated by a solid green LED. This test was performed twice with similar results. I mistakenly thought that I could subsequently charge my iPad 3 immediately after charging my iPhone the first time. With the remaining available charge, the PowerPak only charge my iPad 3 to 35% before the PowerPak shut off with no remaining power. Also, the LED mysteriously did not illuminate while charging the iPad.

Charging my Kindle Fire 1st Generation. With a full charge available on the PowerPak, the Kindle Fire charged flawlessly. The LED illuminated to track the progress of the charge and the remaining charge indicator still showed green. I was very impressed. The charge time was similar to what I am used to by plugging the Kindle Fire into the wall.

Charging my iPad 3. This time the PowerPak was fully charged before trying to charge the iPad. The LED again did not illuminate to track the progress of the charge. I had to keep waking up the iPad from sleep mode to see if its charging indicator was still showing that it was charging and to get an indication of what percentage charge had been completed. This was very inconvenient. Unfortunately, the PowerPak exhausted its power before fully charging the iPad. This time the iPad received a 65% charge. Not bad in an emergency but expected results due to the extremely large power requirement to charge an iPad3.

My opinion is that this unit has great form and variable function. If my intention were to use it exclusively to charge an iPhone and/or a Kindle Fire I would be very happy; however, when adding the iPad into the mix, I would have to alter my expectations a bit. (Posted on 10/31/13)

WOW!!!!!! What a beauty, this is one of the best PowerPak's that I have ever owned. And when I say "MY SAVIOR" you guys will know why I say it. Now when I got this in the mail, it was such a big relief because as you that know me, know that when I place an order for New Trent electronics I get all exited and will not shut-up. LOL!!! It's a very nice piece of art, It takes about 2 to 4 hours to fully charge, but when it's fully charged, electronics better watch out!!!! I have anopther powerpak but let's just call it Xpak, LOL. So the wife and me went to a very important business meeting, on the way there my iphone was dead (battery 0%) and my wife's iphone had 2% battery, she pulls her powerpak (XPAK) and 10 minutes later dies!! Got my phone to 6% wow!!! and hers to 7% LOL!!! Now hers it's an expensive one ok, only 2 weeks old!! So I pulled out my New Trent NT100H PowerPak and she says Oh My GOD!! what is that??? so i explain, charge both iphones to 100%, my ipad was dead so I pluged it after the iphones, and I asked her for hers she screams NOOOOOOOO!!!!! I forgot to charge it and I need it at the meeting!! I told her dont worry about it so I pluged it too. By the time we got to the meeting, our ipads were more than 60% charged and the Powerpak still had juice!!!!! WOW!!!! After the meeting she says where's the powerpak at? So I handed it to her, she looks at it, and says "MY SAVIOR", then she looks at me and says...... You know, you should get one of theser for your self! LOL!!! But know I wanna say, New Trent, you guys did a great job on this powerpak, it's nice looking, it's very powerfull, it looks and it's very tough, very nice job, I definetli recoment this powerpak 200%, and if there was a way to give more than 5 stars, I definetli would!! But I can say """5 BIG STARS"""

Great bang for your battery charging buck!!! Review by Cherrie

This is an incredibly power packed charger! I used this with my Galaxy S3 and my Asus Tablet to charge up.
This charger has an indicator light on it, telling you where you are on the charge on the battery. Red having 10-40%, blue having 40-75% and green having 75-100%. I started in the green. Charged my phone several times, my tablet once and it ended up in the blue when I unplugged it, still ready to continue charging my different devices.
I think it would be nice if it had a carrying case/bag for it, or usb/micro usb cords already attached. It is still great without it.
The battery itself is not heavy. The material is made out of is strong and durable, not flimsy plastic.
I think this is a great buy and great quality over other chargers I have tried in the past.
Best bang for your battery charging buck out there. By far, quality to the max!

The NT100H Battery Pack is a great investment. For the price you're paying,
you're getting a very quality product. Whether you're on the go or just
need a quick charge, the NT100H is sure to fully charge any of your devices
extremely quickly. I have found that it charges even quick than it does via
the wall, which is awesome! The battery pack holds a very long charge -
I've continuously been charging my devices for a week and have yet to
charge it! If you're looking for a reliable, compact, and super powerful
battery pack, New Trent's NT100H is a very great choice! I would definitely
give a 5/5 rating! (Posted on 10/29/13)

Review for Power Pack 10.0

4

The Power Pack 10 is surprisingly small and compact for the charging power. It was received and charged on a Thursday and used exclusively to charge my IPhone 5 until it died- it lasted until midday Tuesday. This was much longer than expected. Very portable and easy to slip into my purse while charging. Only reason this unit did not receive a 5- no indicator lights. I had no idea when it was going to die on me. It would be great if it included lights such as the iTorch to show the percentage of power left. Overall, another great product from New Trent.

New Trent has created a solid and dependable power supply. I love using these for when I travel, however recently during a power outage from a storm I found this vital for my powerless plans. Better than advertised Review by Amie

I love this little powerpak. I expected to have to fully charge this little device before being able to use it, but was surprised to see that it was already almost fully charged straight out of the box. With my own proprietary Nook HD+ cable, it had no problem charging that device - though I did need to use the 1V option rather than the 2.1V. Even then, the powerpak still had at least half of a battery charge, which leads me to believe I could quite easily charge my cell phone (a Moto X) at least twice before needing to charge up the powerpak again.

The device is similar in size to most smart phones these days, but heftier, which is to be expected. Still, given it's size, it's quite easy to stick in a pocket or a phone holder area of a coat or a bag. The light that indicates the state of the charge (green - blue - red) is a bit bright, but nothing that can't be resolved with a small piece of a electrical tape. I'm very glad I tried this device out. It was certainly well worth the cost, and I won't hesitate to pick up more to give as gifts to tech loving friends. (Posted on 10/27/13)
Big Power. Little Package. Review by J. Mueller

There are a few things that I really like about this unit. First, the build quality is excellent. The bottom is rubberized and the top is metal. It has a totally solid feel to it without being too heavy. Form factor is nice, kind of like a really fat iPhone. Second, the unit senses when a phone or tablet is plugged in to charge. I have used other units (including older New Trent products) that you need to turn on once you plug a device in to charge. This unit does it automatically. Lastly, this unit gives you big power in a small package. You can easily fit it in your pocket, or in your bag and you'll no longer have to worry about running out of juice.

Works great. It’s not too heavy, yet still holds enough power to recharge my iPad 3 to over 50%. It would charge my iPhone 5s several times before indicating the power level in the battery pack had lowered. Also used it to charge my 3DS a few times and worked great for that as well. I like this shape, it feels more like the shape of a smartphone and fits nicely in my pocket. Also love the USB ports are actually labeled with their volt/amp output so its easy to remember which ports are for tablets vs phones. (Posted on 10/26/13)
Good Performing Battery Pack with a Few Flaws Review by Richard

Disclaimer: I purchased this product at a discount in exchange for providing feedback to the manufacturer, as part of a pilot user program.

I've had this battery pack for about a week and really like it. I have used it successfully with several different devices: IPhone 5, IPad (1st generation), and a Nexus 7 (2012) tablet, although the IPhone 5 reported it wasn't a certified accessory and might be unreliable.

I have not used a battery pack before, so I wasn't sure what to expect; I was pleased that I was able to use it to charge my Nexus 7 exclusively for 2 days. The dual ports make it very convenient to charge multiple devices.

The battery pack fit easily in my hand, but the rubberized backing felt slippery to both my son and me.

The 3-color LED indicator light does a good job of letting you know when a device is charging, and when the device is charged. The adjacent button used to check the remaining charge in the battery pack works well, using the different colors of the LED to indicate the range of chargimg capacity remaining. I think using a series of small LEDs would be less confusing though than trying to remember what the red/green/blue colors mean.

The provided micro-USB cable to charge the battery pack seems a little short. It was also a little difficult to plug it into the pack and I was concerned at first that I might damage the connector. I have had no problem doing so, however.

On a scale of 1 - 5, with 5 being best, I give this a 4, taking off a point for the confusing LED colors used to indicate remaining capacity, and the slippery feel of the pack, which makes me concerned I might drop it by accident (Posted on 10/26/13)

A Classy Little Battery Review by Josh

There are so many external battery options out there so it can be hard to choose, and even when you do finally narrow it down, you never really know until you try it. I have had a lot of luck with New Trent in the past so I decided to give this battery a try. My son's cell phone tends to die later in the day and it can be a pain when I can't contact him so I went with the PowerPak. I tested it out myself first just to make sure it wasn't a dud. I have been using it for a week and I'm very happy with my decision. The battery itself is highly portable and will easily fit in your pocket. The build quality seems very sturdy to me, it's not high-gloss so it doesn't get all smudgy (if that matters to you). It doesn't feel like a cheap product at all! I haven't conducted any scientific tests or anything like that but it seems like it charges faster than my wall outlet which was a total shock (pun intended?). Even when I was charging 2 devices at the same time, it never got hot or slowed down. I charged an S3, S4, 3DS, and my Nexus 7 with it and the performance was always perfect! The power indicator light is very easy to see but not obnoxious. I kinda don't want to give it to my son and just keep it for myself now! I highly recommend this product if you're in the market for an external battery. (Posted on 10/25/13)
It gets to the point. Review by Debbie

giving this product a 4 out of 5 because I have not used other power chargers before, and I don't know if there is anything better in the market. The power pak is a little bit bigger than an iphone, and a bit heavier too.

The first time I charged it, I recharged my iphone4 from a red bar to 100%. Then I proceeded to charge an ipad2. It went from 6% to 83% before the powerpak ran out.

The second time I charged it, I charged both an iphone4 and ipad2 at the same time. The phone was at 48% and got to 100%. The ipad started at 8% and got to 87%.

To sum it up, you can recharge one and a half gadgets with something that can fit in your pocket. It's nice when travelling.

Plus: It came mostly charged (blinking green light instead of a solid light). The power pak stays cool while charging and being charged.
Minus: None that I can think of.

Great high capacity USB battery pack Review by Pete
Rating
The NT100H is USB battery pack with a massive 10,000mAh capacity. This unit is attractive and has very sold construction. For such a large capacity, the battery is relatively compact - about the size of an iPhone 5 in width and height, but somewhat thicker. I bought this unit since I have numerous devices that are powered by and/or recharge via USB - everything from iPhones and iPads to GPS devices and audio recorders. One of my most demanding applications is powering a Zoom H4n audio recorder (which requires 5V @ 1A) for long duration field recordings. In my testing so far, the NT100H can easily power and/or charge everything I've thrown at it, and its dual USB ports add another level of convenience when I need to power 2 devices simultaneously.

Some reviewers have complained about the long charge time, but this is both documented and expected based on the basic math (10,000mAh / 1A typical charge current = 10 hours). Since this would be true of almost all batteries of this type, the long charge cycles are normal.

The power LED doubles as a fuel gauge based on the current color (green -> blue -> red). This is simple and effective, and provides an estimate of the remaining charge at a glance. The LED seems to stay illuminated anytime there is a relatively significant power draw, but it does turn off at times (possibly when only a small amount of current is being drawn) and blinks occasionally - this can be a slightly annoying and may cause some confusion about the current status. There is no documentation that explains this behavior. Simply touching the power button does turn on the LED which indicates the state of charge.

While it is possible to actually turn the battery off (hold the power button down for several seconds until the LED turns off), turning it back on (simply tap the power button) has exposed an operational quirk. Sometimes it doesn’t provide power to a device that is already plugged in when the power is turned on. This behavior is inconsistent - sometimes it works, but when it doesn’t, I have found that it can be resolved by simply unplugging and reconnecting the USB cable. This may be expected behavior, but the quick guide that ships with the unit does not provide much detail and there is no information at all for the NT100H on the website as of this writing (October 2013).

Bottom line - this battery is well built and easy to use. I’ve taken off one star for the odd power-on and LED behavior and the lack of complete documentation, but would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone needing a high capacity USB battery. (Posted on 10/24/13)

I received this device in return for a fair and honest review.

This is my 3rd New Trent external battery, and I'll write this from the perspective of comparing the 3. Let me start by saying these products have gotten better with every iteration. My first was the IMP99D which I bought on Dec. 17, 2011. I've taken it to all 7 continents and it is amazing. My 2 complaints with the device were: the battery inside had become slightly loose inside the casing and rattled a bit (not a big deal) and it used a proprietary charger which worked great. Until I forgot that cord on a 2 week trip to Thailand. I looked extensively in Bangkok for a replacement and was unsuccessful. However, USB chargers were ubiquitous. So that led me to buy the New Trent iCarrier IMP120D on June 29, 2013. It has a great form factor with 3 LEDs for low/med/high charge level. And 12,000 mAh is massive! I have a 3rd gen iPad (retina display) and an iPhone 5S. So when New Trent offered me a chance to review the new device (Powerpak 10.0), I jumped at the chance.

I received the new device on Oct. 17th and I've only had it for 5 days. However, I have really enjoyed my time with it. The fit and finish is incredibly good. Much better than the other 2 devices. The USB charging cable fits very tightly initially, but I assume it will loosen over time. The output USB ports are clearly labeled as phone and tablet. I had a chance to do one test: my iPhone was at 49% and my iPad was at 85%. I began to charge them both at the same time. At 1 hour, the iPhone was at 97% and the iPad was at 90%. The iPhone quickly reached 100% and was removed. At 1 hr and 35 min, the light turned blue. iPad finished charging about 30 min. later and the light remained blue. I dislike the new lighting system vs the old system. With 3 LED's corresponding and labeled as low/med/high, it's easy. I can't remember what a blue light or a flashing light means, although they are well documented in the accompanying literature.

In summary, if money were no object or if it were on sale, I would buy the 120D. With more specific LED's and a larger capacity, I think it is the superior device. It is currently on sale for $40! However, for $37 and with the 120D usually $60, I would buy the Powerpak 10.0. It has a better feel in your hand and at 10000 mAh it will be sufficient for virtually every use you can think of. I give it a 4.5/5 stars with 1/2 star off for the ambiguity of the LEDs.

I think New Trent is the best external battery maker on the market. Their devices have improved and dropped in price with every iteration. (Posted on 10/24/13)

The New Trent NT100H is a small well designed multiple devices (tab and phone) charge capable battery pack. The device has a great sleek design. I particularly like the rubberized base. The item appears very durable and rugged. Charging time is fast, high 2.1A and low 1A 5V usb power jacks, LED lights to show current battery level, and battery pack turns off automatically once device being charged is at 100%. I would of preferred that the battery pack come with a case or cloth bag to store it and the cable together when not in use. The only thing that New Trent hasn't thought about is incorporating an Inductive Charger into the unit. (Posted on 10/24/13)

NT100H Review

I received the NT100H in a padded shipping envelope. The unit came packed in an attractive, clean, professional box. The obverse side of the packaging displayed the unit with the label "rechargeable portable battery pack" and the New Trent logo. Additionally, the user could open a magnetically sealed flap, revealing additional size comparison pictures and a highlight of the NT100H features. The reverse displayed three pictures, a detailed description of the device, and several useful technical specifications. Upon opening the package I again found simple, yet very effective no frills packaging. Inspection of the contents revealed a sleek, solidly built battery pack, USB charging cable, and instruction pamphlet.
The instruction pamphlet was clear and concise, relying mainly on illustrations to enhance the basic information and instructions. The instructions claim it takes 8 hours to charge the unit. I found this to be consistent with my NT100H. When I received the unit, it indicated a “blue” battery life light. By the manufacturer instructions, this indicates the battery has between 40% and 75% life remaining in the power pack. I ran the power pack down to “zero” by charging an iPhone 5, a BlackBerry, and an iPad 2. The NT100H is a quick charging unit—in addition to the NT100H, I also own an EasyAcc® 12000mAh Power Bank. The NT100H hands down charges my iPhone faster to 100%. I would like to conduct more anecdotal tests between these two units but I can say undoubtedly that the NT100H is slimmer, lighter, and charges faster. I plan to evaluate this unit after it is fully charged and see if it truly performs as the packaging claims. I give this unit 5 out of 5 stars. (Posted on 10/24/13)

but its not quite as nice as a meter. That is the only thing I would change
about it and its clearly not a dealbreaker. It is one of the best power
packs I have used and the high capacity is great. Cant beat it for the
price either. I would highly recommend this product. (Posted on 10/24/13)
Fits in my pocket and charges everything including Playstation Vita Review by KERRY

The NewTrent PowerPak 10.0 is fantastic. I have owned other portable battery chargers, but they were much larger and heavier. This one is a little larger
and heavier than my iphone 4, but not by much. This makes it really convenient for taking with me while on the go. Fully charged, I recharged my
iphone 4 twice from about 40% charge and a dead Playstation vita. I didn't need any extra cord for the vita to charge, but it may have been a
third-party cable. At this point the device showed a 40-60% battery capacity left. For the price, I can't recommend this product enough. (Posted on 10/23/13)

Two USB ports (thumbs) up Review by Kevin
Rating
Received products and immediately plugged in the NT100H to charge it fully. After 3 hours, green light still blinking - manual is not clear whether light will go solid green at full charge or stay blinking. Found out after an overnight charge that light will eventually stay green.

Size and shape is very nice, pretty much same size/mass of a smart phone. Really nice to have two USB charging ports - one high current draw and the other low, so you can charge both tablets and phones.

Brought this hiking in the mountains over the weekend and used it to charge my phone about halfway through. Very nice insurance at a good price.

The only downside I can really claim is lack of a storage pouch. I would still give this a 5 out of 5 rating though. (Posted on 10/23/13)
Stylish portable USB charger Review by Angelo

I received the NewTrent Powerpak 10000mAh charger (purchased on Amazon) to evaluate and tested the unit on the following three devices: Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, Nexus 10 Tablet and a HTC One X (XL).

The first thought I had when opening the box was how stylish it looked. The unit is matte black on the bottom and a black metal on the top. The casing on both sides helps keep the unit looking clean and fingerprint free. It has a single button on the top which will turn the light on to show how much battery life is left (the light will stay on for about 6 seconds). On the backside the ports are labeled clearly so you easily know which is which and the power output amounts as well.

Holding the unit is very comfortable because it feels just like many current smartphones (the width, length and thickness is almost identical to my wife’s LG Escape).

I used the unit to charge the 3 devices mentioned above and I was very happy with the results. I charged each from 50% to 100% and all finished in the times as if they were plugged into their standard wall charges. The light comes on while charging a device and turns off automatically when it reaches 100%. While testing, the temperature never seemed to increase and still felt cool while holding it.

I also have a Anker Astro E4 13000mAh and while I like both units, I would still hands down choose the NewTrent Powerpak due to style and feel of the device. I really didn’t expect to be so won over by the aesthetics of the NewTrent but they really did some great design work on the unit.

Must Have for Cell Phone Photo Addicts Review by Elizabeth

The New Trent Powerpak is a must have for anyone who is an avid photo/video taker. I wish I had this when I went to the Bon Jovi concert and my battery died out towards the end because I was taking videos. The Powerpak quickly charges using the New Trent high-speed Dual USB port AC wall charger. I plugged it in at work and the Powerpak starting charging in no time. It is slim in profile but also a wee bit heavy but for powering up your device approximately 5x, I can definitely make space in my bag for it. I can't wait to take it along to amusement parks (yes my phone died at Knott's) and other outings. I am constantly taking photos of the kids and checking my social media. It's pretty neat that you can charge more than one device at a time. I can charge my S4 and iPad simultaneously which is fantastic since the kiddos are youtube addicts. It will also come in handy during travel this winter. (Posted on 10/22/13)
A battery pack with a premium feel that functions as expected Review by GMG
Rating
Battery pack has a very premium feel with metal and soft-touch faces
Is longer than it is wider (about the size of a smartphone) and fits well in clothing pockets
The provided cable is great for charging the battery pack itself and also my phone (i.e I only have to carry around one cable with me if I want to be able to charge my phone or the battery pack)
Took about 50 min to charge my Samsung Epic 4G Touch from 87% battery level to 99% in smartphone port (the 1 amp port). Waited for an additional 10 min to reach 100% from 99%. Charging conditions: 5 bars of cellular signal, connected to wifi network, screen off most of time, no unnecessary battery-draining programs open, no text messaging or calling during the charging period

To charge a Samsung note 10.1:
Took about 1 hr 15 min to charge from 85% to 100%
Used usb charging cable that came with Note 10.1 when originally purchased plugged into Tablet port (the 2.1 amp port)
Connected to Wifi, screen off most of time, no unnecessary battery-draining programs open

The battery pack did not noticeably become warm or heat up when I used it to charge my phone or tablet.

Overall thoughts: I haven't had a chance to test the capacity or charge cycle lifespan of this battery pack, but I am pretty happy with everything else about it. Because I have only had the battery pack for a few days, I'm not able to comment on the durability of the materials used in construction; however, my gut feeling is that the battery pack is well-constructed and it feels like it will last for a while. In terms of price (~$37), it seems to be on par with other battery packs of this capacity currently on the market. This battery pack isn't necessarily innovative in any of its features, but it is a solid choice for someone in the market for one of these devices. For its premium feel and no-nonsense design, I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimer: New Trent supplied this battery pack to me for testing. I was allowed to keep the battery pack for personal use for agreeing to provide feedback. This has not biased my comments in this review. (Posted on 10/22/13)

Great little charger Review by Brad

I'm one who will burn the battery up in my Galaxy S3 by about three in the afternoon. This device has solved my problem as I'm able to fit the battery discreetly and -comfortably- into my pocket so I can charge during afternoon and make it all night. Probably about the size of an ink stamp but a bit thicker. Have been able to fully/quickly recharge easily two Galaxy S3s and an iPhone on a single charge and still had plenty of power. Easy color coded light lets you see how much power is left in battery. Device itself takes a few hours to recharge. Another plus is that there are two USB ports which let me charge a friends phone charging my own. Simple/compact.... great product (Posted on 10/21/13)

I'm one who will be in meetings all day and I needed a battery pack where I could charge a phone during the day. This device fits neatly -and comfortably-into my pocket and is great for discreetly charging your smartphone. Probably a bit thicker than a standard ink stamp pad. Has easy to understand color coded light that lets you know how much strength the battery has. On a single charge was easily able to fully and quickly recharge two Samsung S3s and an Apple I-4.. Device has dual charging ports, one for phones and one for tablets. I used both ports for smart phones at one time and found no problem on charging. Device itself quickly recharges in a few hours. This is the second New Trent product I have owned and like the first it works great. I expect to get many years of use out of the NT100H, it's design is very nice, not bulky, very solid and provides an invaluable source of power when traveling and not needing to worry about finding that plug someplace to charge a device, especially in Europe, where I seem to need to recharge my iphone at least twice a day. The multiple amp charging options are great and give you fast charging and the ability to support the devices you need to. The LED indicator give you a clear view of what your power capacity is. I like it! (Posted on 10/21/13)
A must-have charger! Review by Michelle

This PowerPak is a sleek, solid and powerful charger. If you find yourself searching for outlets all the time to charge your devices or you're constantly holding back on using your devices so you don't run low on battery, this product is for you! There are 2 ports to allow you to charge both a phone and tablet simultaneously. I've charged both an iPad and iPhone at the same time and the PowerPak stood up to the test. If you only charge an iPhone, you can get about 4-5 full charges before having to recharge the PowerPak. If you're charging an iPad, you will get about 1 full charge. The PowerPak charges my devices fairly quickly. The light on the PowerPak changes from green to blue to red to indicate how much charge is left. The PowerPak is slightly longer and thicker than an iPhone 5 and has a black matte finish. It is fairly light and can easily fit in a purse, pocket, backpack or laptop case. With this product, you won't have to worry anymore that your phone battery will die when you're expecting an important call, playing your favorite game or need to look something up - you can ensure that you're always connected!

The charger comes with a USB cable, but you'll need an adapter to plug it into an outlet. I have the NewTrent NT90C Dual Port high-speed USB AC wall charger and that has worked well. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge the PowerPak. If your device doesn't have a micro USB input, you will need to use the USB cable that comes with your device to plug into the charger.

This is a great deal for a well-built product and you will never again be stuck with having dead devices. (Posted on 10/21/13)
Great for Traveling Review by Jasmine

The NT100H was a so nice to have. I took the NT100H on a trip and I was so happy to have it. I was able to use it 5 times to charge my phone (iPhone) and my son's phone (non-smart phone). It took about 2 hours to fully charge my phone. My battery was at 5% when I plugged it into the NT100H. Each time the NT100H was used it did take longer for my phone to charge. There were only two issues, and neither would keep me from purchasing or recommending the NT100H. (1) When my phone was finished charging, the NT100H doesn't shut off. It keeps running. I have another battery pack made by New Trent and it shuts off 10 min after my phone is done charging. I really liked that my other battery pack did this and this would have been a great feature in the NT100H. (2) I think that the users guide that comes with it could be a little more informative. Its good as a quick start guide but a more informative one would have been better, even if this is something I would have had to download from the New Trent website. I will say that it is a better user guide than other New Trent products I have. It would have been nice to have a little more explanation on the different colored battery indicator lights. Took a while for me to understand and remember what each was for. Also it would have been nice to mention if the NT100H initially needs to be charged and for how long. Also would have been nice to have an idea how long it would take to charge the NT100H from an empty battery to full. In general this is a great device and I would recommend it. (Posted on 10/18/13)
Amazing High Capacity Battery Review by Ron

The Powerpak 10 is a great charger in that it is just slightly larger than my iPhone, and a bit heavier, but what I really love about it, is the build quality, which feels great, and the ability to charge two devices at once and the ability to charge my iPhone so many times. This is probably the best battery for the money, and I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking to buy one. (Posted on 10/18/13)

Definitely worth the price for the amount of energy it can store. WIth a nice simple design, it fits into pockets easily and the color indicator is pretty useful as well. One thing I wish is there are more color indicators so that I can get a better estimate as to how much battery is left but that isnt a big issue.

With being dual port it still charges both my phone and camera in a matter of no time. Battery issues are no longer existent for me. (Posted on 10/17/13)

This is an outstanding powerpak. I've used others in the past and they just
don't compare. It's light and compact and very easy to use.Plus it is well
priced. As soon as I took it out of the box I was able to use it. I really
like how they have 2 different USB plugins with different voltage. One for
a smart phone and another for your tablet. I charged my phone first. Not
only did it charge quickly but it still had power left. So then I charged
my Ipad. Again it do so wonderfully. I've used it 3 times and I still
haven't had to charge the pack itself. Outstanding! I give this product 5/5 (Posted on 10/16/13)
5 out of 5 - great choice! Review by Lil

New Trent's PowerPak is small and good for business travelers, students, or workers in a "mobile office" (car, field work, etc.). The PowerPak is small, light, and easy to slip into a briefcase/purse/backpack and seems like a device that could hold up to constant travel and use. The included micro USB cable is three feet long and a good length: not so long that it gets tangled but no so short that its a hassle to plug in when using in a normal office or hotel room.

Checking the charging and battery level statuses is simple and easy to read:
when charging in an outlet: flashing green
when charging a device: steady green light
flashing red: less than 10%, time to charge!
blue: less than 75%
green: 75-100%

There are three ports on the end of the device: a 2.1A (good for higher powered devices like an iPad 3/4), 1A (good for smartphones, iPods, etc.) and the charger input. I tested an iPad mini, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPhone 5, iPod Nano, and Droid X2 and all charged easily and quickly. I'd highly recommend this for the size, weight, and overall charging power which is lacking in an increasingly technological society. (Posted on 10/15/13)

This device definitely packs a punch, and is very sleek and portable. I have to say that this portable charger has one of the best designs I have seen. It is roughly the same shape as an iPhone and about twice as thick. Easily fits into your pocket, backpack, whatever your toting heart desires.

Tech details:

This charger isn't the largest battery pack on the market, but it weighs in at a reasonable 10k mAh which is enough juice for 6 or 7 charges which is more than enough to get you through the day/week depending on your usage.

I also really like the very simple interface and single multi-colored LED indicator. Definitely a great purchase, and I look forward to picking a couple of these up as gifts for my family. (Posted on 10/14/13)
New Trent PowerPak 10.0 NT100H is truly “Power-Packed” ! Review by Bruce
Rating
As the name suggests, the New Trent PowerPak 10.0 NT100H is a truly
“Power-Packed” extremely “sleek” and well-designed dual USB rechargeable
portable battery pack. I travel a lot and whether in the car or on a plane
this battery is compact and ideal for that. Compared to other chargers on
the market the PowerPak is very slim and lightweight and fits comfortably
into the palm of your hand. It holds a tremendous amount of power and the
dual inputs are ideal for charging any 2 devices at once. This battery can
be used with a multitude of different products and various brands and it is
compatible with all original Apple cables and AC chargers as well as most
non-Apple brands. The PowerPack charges my devices over and over again
before ever needing to be recharged – a real bonus when on the road – and
according to the specs the PowerPack itself can be recharged 500+ times.
Personally, I use the New Trent IMP90C Dual Port high-speed USB AC wall
charger (you have to purchase separately) to charge this PowerPack and it
worked extremely easy and fast – about 8 hours. One very cool feature is
the different colored alerts (green, blue and red) which I find most
helpful in letting me know just how much “juice” is left in the unit
therefore allowing me to always keep the battery fully charged. This is a
great product that does exactly what it is supposed to do in a very clean
and efficient manner.

Great product. Tested it on a recent road trip, and it gave me a full 4 charges to my iphone, with battery power left to spare. We're talking netflixing in the car batteries. New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H: External Battery Charger/ Portable Back Up Power Bank/Power Pack Battery/iPhone Charger , (10000mAh) 5V/3.1A (Max) Dual USB Ports

Let me start by saying that this battery charger looks, feels and works, great! I mentioned looks because it is stylish, sleek , black and sort of looks like a cell phone, just a tad thicker. I also mentioned feel, as it has a coating that is smooth to the touch and easily slides into a pocket of virtually any type. As for the way it works, it's simple. There is a power button next to an LED light. The unit will cycle on if you plug into it, unlike other charging units. The LED light lets you know how much charge is in the unit. It will change color to indicate the power left in it. The dual ports allow you to charge two devices at one time. One port recommended for a smart phone and the other a tablet. It comes with one black Micro-USB cord which is used to charge the unit, but since my phone uses a Micro-USB, I charge my phone with it.

The unit does not have a wall plug but I had previously purchased a Newtrent Dual Port high-speed USB AC wall charger(Which is awesome) so I had no problem using it.

I highly recommend this charger and I rate it a 5 out of 5 stars! (Posted on 10/9/13)

The soft rubber on the back side is a very nice touch too! I wish it was used on more products these days. The size is great too! I purchased this battery because it reminded me of Mophie's batteries, but
was far more affordable and had a larger capacity than similar models

aesthetically-pleasing: it's barely thicker than my iPhone, and I've been
using it to fully recharge my iPhone for the whole week without needing to
recharge the unit itself (it's 10,000 mAh). I wish the indicator light was
more noticeable, and that the power button wasn't so small, but other than
that, I really enjoy my new NT100H! Great impression for my first battery

This unit is compact enough to hold in your hand - it's an easy fit for a handbag or computer case. I found the unit to be fairly lightweight and easy to use. There are two use ports, each labeled - 1 port is for tablets and the other port is for smart phones. I used one hub for recharging my iPhone5 and the other for recharging my Fitbit (step and calorie counter). Both units were charge rapidly and
worked perfectly. Unlike many charge units and other accessories on the market today that say they are "iPhone/iPad compatible" this one really is! If you are looking for affordability, this unit is it. If you are looking for usability this unit is absolutely it! (Posted on 10/7/13)

The New Trent PowerPak NT100H is my new favorite backup battery. First of all it actually charged every device I plugged into it. The labelled ports was also very handy. No guessing in that regard. ALL of my tablets and ereaders charged on this powerpak and the display was easy to read. I would have liked the range that some of the other PowerPaks have that let you know the battery level when you check it. In regards to charging up the powerpak, it charged up very quickly and I love that it charges with a USB as well that also fits most of my smartphones. it was easy to hold and not heavy at all like a few others. This Powerpak gets a 5. (Posted on 10/7/13)
Very good every day charger for on the go Review by Erik

I think it's constructed well, works well and does what I expected. I like that you don't have to "turn-on" the PowerPak in order to charge after connecting it to a device. That makes it very easy to carry in m laptop bag with just the cord sticking out for easy use. It worked well to recharge my phone and tablet simultaneously, albeit I would get 1 full charge for each before having to recharge the PowerPak. Two gripes. First, cosmetically it is visually appealing but I think that more of a matte finish would be better. I I like the rubberized base, but the top shows finger prints too much - a pet peeve of mine. Second, the middle range for battery life if quite large and would be helpful to possibly split it up a little more, like the "Red" range. Example: 40-55%, flash blue and 55-75%, solid blue. Again, I think it's a great product would definitely recommend it to others. (Posted on 10/6/13)
A "Must" have battery pack for all your needs! Review by Beth

If you are like me and always on the go you are fearful that your phone, tablet, computer or whatever doesn't have enough battery life to live up to your lifestyle! It seems like whenever I get that important phone call my battery starts beeping at me or when I need to look up a website my battery dies. If you have that problem and it happens to everyone from the simple running to the store for a gallon of milk to the ceo of the huge corporation person this battery pack is for you! It's lightweight, it can fit easily into your pocket or purse, backpack or briefcase. It can charge up to two of your items at a time a few times in a very efficient manner or one of your items multiple of times today, tomorrow or next weekend. Know matter what I do it always seems my Samsung S4 is always dying. But wait... I always have my tablet with me and of course, these things just don't have enough battery life and I always seem to be running on empty. So... this is absolutely for you! I tested this battery pack out with just my S4, with my S4 and my husbands S4 Active together, with my S4 and my Kindle Fire, and with my S4 and my Google Nexus 7 Tablet. The New Trent PowerPak 10.0 NT100H did the job I needed it to do and never let me down. I know there are alot of battery packs out there and I also have tried them but I am here to tell you that they don't hold a candle to the New Trent products. And I have a few. I will never waste my money on another brand again. There is nothing more frustrating than needing your phone while your at the lake with your kids and your battery is dead. Or if your on that important business trip and get in the cab and find out your running late to that most important meeting and don't have a battery life long enough to make that important call. New Trent battery chargers are simply in one word amazing! No I don't work for the company nor do I have anything to do with the company... I'm simply a mom with needs and on the go in today's busy world watching every penny I spend. (hence why I tried the cheaper battery packs) Saving pennies like I have to do is why I will always stick with New Trent.
The ONLY con I found with this product is it only came with one charging cord. So you will have to grab an extra cord to use both power banks. But if your like me you have a million cords hanging around.
And with the customer service with New Trent I'm sure if you called them they would help you fix this issue with the greatest of ease... They do have great customer service! That's VERY important with me and my lifestyle also! (Posted on 10/4/13)

It ships with a usb charging cord, the user manual stating that it takes 8 hours for a full charge (I plugged it in overnight to charge it and have been unable to test the actual time)
It has 2 ports, a 1 amp for most usb devices and a 2 amp port for tablets. I haven't used the 2 amp port yet, but will update this review once I get a chance to. I don't own a tablet but I still want to see if the 2 amp charges faster than the other port.
I kept this battery next to my bed for a week and topped off my iPod touch every night, and it lasted all week. It definitely filled the 5 charge claim, although I cannot pinpoint the number of actual total charges. \
Overall, this battery is a great way to keep all your usb-powered devices charged up when away from outlets. It is roughly the same size as an iPhone 5, but thicker. If you want a battery for 1-2 charges just to keep a phone powered up while on the go, I'd recommend the New Trent: iTorch IMP52D - (5200mAh) with built in laser and LED flashlight. However, if you need more charges, and a tablet charging port, then this battery is for you. One overnight charge lasts +/- 5 recharges for a device, not to mention it charges at about the same rate as it does on USB with my PC. I'd buy it again. (Posted on 10/3/13)
Great product Review by Ciera

So far my experience with this product has been very pleasant. Although it's quite large and not much of a portable size, it still does as its suppose. I used it to charge my iPad from 60% to 100% in just under three hours. Works as though it was on a wall charger. One other thing that I should mention I that the instruction that come with the charger are somewhat lacking appropriate information. (I.e. What is the button under the green light for? When the green light is blinking while it is plugged into a wall socket to charge when will you know it is fully charged? Also, it doesn't even say anything about charging the charger. Luckily I knew how to work it and understood it's schematics. Over all I would rate the product itself a 5. (Posted on 10/3/13)
New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H: The Perfect Travelmate Review by Samuel
Rating
About the size of a smart phone, the New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H is a sleek, elegant travel mate for those who require additional power for their digital devices. It's lightweight and easy to store in a purse or pocket. I travel with a laptop, a tablet and a smartphone. All I need is one USB cable to power up the PowerPak from my laptop and the same chord can be used to power my phone. Those of us with an Ipad will have to remember to bring the matching chord for that device, but the New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H comes with two USB ports and one is designed to handle devices requiring up to 5V 2.1A and phones requiring 5V 1A. Both USB ports can be used at the same time. The New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H arrived with about an 80% charge. I always like to charge my devices well before using them for the first time but I could see that it only took less than 2 hours to completely charge it to 100%. It comes with a multicolored indicator light that glows green when it is above 75% charged. When it drops to between 40% and 75% it turns blue and below 40% it turns red. Below 10% you will see a flashing red. My Ipad has a pretty good battery life but it uses most of it throughout the day. The New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H easily backed it up for an additional 10 hours after I let it go down to 10%. That included wifi usage with audio output. That's pretty impressive! My cell phone gobbles up battery life so I like to recharge it daily. Is it just me? It seems like the better the battery, the better the range and reception? When traveling there are times when I can't get a signal from a cell tower but when I plug my phone into the New Trent PowerPak 10.0, NT100H the phone locates a tower or GPS much more quickly. You will wonder how you lived without a device like this after you use it for awhile. Don't be surprised if when you least expect it you find someone else has invited themselves to share your energy supply. Let them enjoy it and then tell them they have to buy their own. This thing has saved me! Review by Chase

I love this thing. I have no way of charging my phone in my car because my DC power supply from my cigarette lighter has no power. This thing has saved me. I have to drive rather long distances for work often to places I have never been before and I need to utilize GPS on my phone. I have had several trips where I am racing against a dying battery on my phone. Once my phone died in the middle of nowhere West Virginia, which was not a fun experience. Now in my car I can recharge it and not have to worry.
There are two ports on the PowerPak that give out different currents for tablets or phones. The charge to my phone from a fully charged powerpak takes slightly longer using the 1.0 A output compared to a wall charge. I am a little hesitant to charge my phone from the 2.1 A output as I have heard mixed advice on cooking my HTC one battery. I have gotten easily three charges to my phone from a charged powerpak. My only complaint, which is a far cry, is that the LED light is bright and stays on when in use or when charging the PowerPak. It kind of is an annoyance on my dresser at night. Also, it would be nice if it was smaller, but the device holds so much power, I really can't complain about the size. It is slightly larger than my HTC one.
I can see that I will use this a lot while traveling and on planes. I no longer have to worry about my dying phone! (Posted on 9/30/13)

High capacity and charges quickly Review by Richard

The first thing I noticed about the New Trent PowerPac 10.0 (NT100H) is that it has a nice rubberized-like finish on the bottom half of the unit. The finish provides for a good grip on the device, which isn't much bigger than a large smart phone. The design is modern and simple; I like it.

On the top of the unit is a power indicator light which only illuminates when it's charging (itself or another device). Green indicates a full charge; blue indicates half a charge remaining; red indicates that the charge is nearly depleted and flashing red indicates that the PowerPac needs to be re-charged. When the PowerPac is being re-charged the green light flashes and becomes steady green when the charge is complete.

There are three jacks on one short side; one micro-USB for charging the PowerPac and two full-size USB jacks for charging USB devices. The two full-size jacks are clearly labeled for different amperages; 5v/2.1 Amps for tablets and 5v/1 Amp for smartphones.

It arrived with a charge indicating in the green so without prior charging, I connected my Samsung Galaxy Centura which had a 60% charge and the PowerPac charged it to 100% in about 15 minutes. The battery indicator on the PowerPac turned to blue before the charge completed but the initial charge status was likely not full.

Then I connected the PowerPac to an iPad (2nd Generation; iOS6). While attempting to charge the iPad, an error indicating a charge device incompatibility was displayed. I remember reading about this error on a similar battery device and the remedy was to unplug the iPad and plug it in again. This worked and the iPad began charging. It started at 70% and was at 100% about two hours later, with the PowerPac still reading in the blue.

Recharging the PowerPac took about five hours but it was not completely discharged. Again, I charged a Samsung Centura smartphone but this time the phone was at 5% and the PowerPac charged it to 100% in two hours with the power indicator still in the green. While I have not yet used the PowerPac from fully charged to fully depleted, I have no doubt that this battery pack is capable of charging my phone five times on a single full charge.

This is a five-star battery pack. The device performed flawlessly, it is a good value, it has a large capacity, it looks cool and it charges fast! (Posted on 9/30/13)

I was not sure what to expect from such a small device, and I was pleasantly surprised.
I use it for my MP4 and Kindle Fire HD. After fully charging the MP4 from 0%, I played a few games on the Kindle and took the battery down to 10%. Then I watched a couple of movies on the Kindle. When they were over the Kindle was back to 100% and the PowerPak was still showing over 50% available. With it ability to charge two items at once and being such an easy device to carry it is in my opinion the perfect companion to have when you are traveling and have to keep on the move. Excellent External Battery Pack Review by dolphins

So as soon as I unpacked the New Trent PowerPak 10.0, I plugged the battery pack into the wall with the included USB cable and an USB charging cube. With 10000 mAh, I thought that you would need to let the battery pack charge overnight. However, after 2 hours, the light indicated that the battery pack was fully charged and ready to go. It was nice that the unit came charged.

The design of the battery pack is very nice. It is made of a matte black thick plastic that always looks great.

After using my iPhone 5’s battery down to 5% remaining, I found that I was able to charge it about six times. I also used my phone half the day, I plugged it into the battery pack, and after 20 minutes it was fully charged.

I also used the New Trent PowerPak 10.0, while making calls, playing games and reading the news for about a half an hour. I was still getting as good a charge as if my phone was plugged into the wall.

The New Trent PowerPak 10.0, also has two USB ports so you will be able to charge multiple devices simultaneously. One of the ports provides 5V/1 amp of power, which will charge most smartphones, the other is a 5V/2.1 amp port, so you’ll be able to use it to charge devices that draw more power like the tablets, or digital cameras. The 2.1 amp port will also charge small devices quicker.

The New Trent PowerPak 10.0 will be able to charge the majority of the USB-powered mobile hardware, including 2.1 amp devices, like the iPad.

I would recommend this battery pack for anyone. The New Trent PowerPak 10.0 compact size makes it easy to carry, it’s reasonably priced, and can last through a week of charging all your devices. (Posted on 9/27/13)
Fantastic Product - Powerpack 10.0 Review by Kirk

So im a guru guy with tons of gadgets. When I found this product I thought how great is this, a small pocket device that is the size of my cell phone that will hold a huge charge and allow me to charge multiple devices several times a day if needed. That is exactly what it does. If you plug your phone in overnight and it drains down by mid day plug it in to this device no matter where you are, plane, train, car, walking riding, no matter where it can charge while your in transit or sitting at your desk. Whatever you are doing this device can charge your stuff. The items that i use daily is my ipad work phone and personal cell phone. All 3 of these devices charge down to nothing at some point during the day. All you have to do is take the plug for the phone and plug it into the side of the device and press the button all the devices charge. At the end of the day plug the device in to the wall and it recharges it self and is ready to go again. If you forget to charge your device and phone no problem the device will hold a charge for a few days. When I received the device a few days ago right out of the box the charge lasted a few days. It only took about 2 hours or so to fully charge and now should be ready to go for a few days with multiple charges. Obviously though if charging heavy duty items iPads Kindles tablets etc it will drain faster. But all in all this is a fantastic device perfect for people on the go that use their phone and tablets daily. Highly recommended. (Posted on 9/27/13)
