Excellent Product Review by Lori
Rating
I bought this unit so that I could have something to travel with to conventions at overseas; it's a serious bummer when you're waiting for a panel for three hours and your battery is dead. I tested it for about a week and I've been thrilled with the amount of charge I've gotten and the overall speed of it. It's not super lightweight, but nor is it heavy enough to be obtrusive. I'd love it if came with the charging wall plug but the USB to a laptop works fine. Overall, this is a recommend especially considering the price point. (Posted on 4/24/14)
Nice combination of price and performance Review by Andrew

After going through a several tense moments with low batteries on long flights, I finally decided to invest in a battery pack. Price and strength of various reviews led me to the New Trent PowerPak+ NT135T and I’ve been very pleased with the results. The PowerPak is a nice combination of small form factor, low weight, and sturdy feel and fits in my travel bags easily. It’s easy to use, with the ports all clearly labeled, so that using it right out of the box was a breeze. It has charged both my phone and my iPad without any difficulty.
The lights that indicate battery level are clear, though I’d prefer a little more information, perhaps bars that indicate approximately how much battery is left.
Still, the combination of utility, quality and price are tough to beat and I”m very pleased with my purchase.

Bought this product over 6 months ago and its something that I use daily to charge my Iphone and my galaxy tablet, sometimes at the same time. My Iphone charges while in my pocket, and it doesn't take too long to charge my devices either. I usually charge the PowerPak once a week overnight, and its done in the morning. (Posted on 4/2/14)
Amazing Portable Charger Review by Richard

This little portable charger goes everywhere with me. Easily charges my iPhone and iPad multiple times before needing to be recharged itself. A little big to fit comfortably in a pocket (except cargo and carpenter style jeans), but easily fits in a light jacket. I will definitely be looking to New Trent if ever in need of a new charger. I work at night. And some nights 12+ hours away from an outlet to charge my Note 3 & iPad Air
As we all know Smartphones eat power like we breathe air. But I can fully charge my Phone after playing music or a game or just having the phone on through my night and help recharge a co-worker's phone and still have juice left in the powerpak. (Posted on 3/29/14)

SUPER HAPPY WITH THIS Review by Leslie

This is my second New Trent external battery. I chose to buy this brand again because I was so happy with my first one. I would still be using that one but I plugged it into the wrong charger cord and fried it. I used it for a few years with no problems. This model uses a universal charging cord so I won't have to worry about using the wrong cord again. In fact it uses the same cord as my cell phone which is handy. I have yet to have to recharge this but have only used it a few times. So far I am very pleased with this. (Posted on 3/19/14)

Great Size/Capacity Balance Review by Eric
Rating
I haven’t had the chance to fully test the battery capacity, but overall the size and weight of the battery pack is well balanced with the capacity of the unit. I searched for a while because I didn’t want something huge and heavy, yet I did not want to give up capacity. This item seems to have a good balance of the two.

Two comments:
1. I would like it if the ‘on’ light stayed lit longer or for the entire time it was charging. I had a dead iPhone, which takes a while to ‘wake up’ and I didn’t think it was getting charged (because the indicator on the phone was bilking to attach to power and the nt135t light had gone off. After leaving it attached the iPhone woke up and started to charge. A relief, but at first I thought the pack was broken or could not charge completely dead iPhones (this was my first use of it)

2. It would be nice if the pack had some non-slip feet on part of the surface. It tends to slide off of my angled desk.

I have enjoyed using the Powerpack+ NT135T so far. I have not had a chance to use it extensively as I purchased it for a future overseas trip. But size, weight, build quality, and ease of use have been impressive. I have used it to charge an iPhone and iPad with no issues. I have yet to deplete the battery due to its large capacity. It comes with its own power cord that plugs into your phones power adapter via USB. This is a great size and easy to travel with, great product. (Posted on 3/11/14)

I travel weekly on business. Airports, rental cars, and conference rooms in different cities are a regular occurrence. My New Trent NT135T charger has become my "can't do without" essential travel tool. Small enough to slip easily into my carry on bag, yet powerful enough to give new life to both my iPhone 5 and my 3rd generation iPad. Now I never have to worry about running out of battery life; I simply plug in my battery depleted device to my New Trent and I am off and running again. The inputs are clearly marked making it easy to use and it travels easy in its own drawstring pouch. Perhaps someday it will lose a little weight - but I guess I can't have everything. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give it a solid 5. This little fellow continues to allow me to be productive for extended periods of time. (Posted on 3/10/14)

I actually own two of these. They are one if the most commonly used products in our house. Having 3 teenagers with iPods, phones,iPads, etc these are truely a must have in our house. There's not a day that they do not get used. My daughter throws it in here sports bag so she never runs her battery out in her ipod. I must say you would be hard pressed to find such a solid charger with so much battery for cheaper that's built as well as this product. I've had mine for over a year now and I have never had an issue with this product. Try it out for yourself I promise you won't be dissappointed. (Posted on 3/6/14)

NewTrent Powerpak+ 13,500 mAh Portable Battery (NT135T) Review Review by GeekHelpingHand
Rating
I want to give you the simple specs before giving my opinions. First of all, this is a great upgrade from the NT120T. You can purchase this product on Amazon US for about $55. At the moment, it's not available on Amazon UK. And special thanks to NewTrent for sending this out to review.

This product is packing a 13,500 mAh battery that suppose to charge your smartphone up to 6 times. Actually, I was able to charge my Samsung Galaxy S4 5 times and Apple iPod touch 4G about 4 times before the battery went dead. If you didn't know already then let me inform you that this is indeed a portable smartphone and tablet battery. There's a 2.1 amp port and a 1 amp port to correctly charge your device without over-charging it and causing battery damage like other portable batteries.

I find that this portable battery didn't include any cables which is alright but I would like to have a portable version of cables since carrying the original cables are a big hassle. This isn't a deal breaker but would be a great package to add. Don't get me wrong. They did include a Micro USB to USB 2.0 cable for charging the portable battery and could double as a cable to charge many of the new devices to this very day! Which is a plus to my needs.

The portable battery is about 1.2 pounds which is not very heavy. I wouldn't say that you should carry it around in your pocket but having it a bag wouldn't be a big space waster. It's still portable and somewhat light. I want to tell you about the portable bag that comes with your portable battery. It's very soft and can do more than carry your portable battery but also a cable or two.

It's super easy to turn the portable battery on. You will either see a red LED for low battery, blue for medium battery, or green for high battery. At the end of testing, it's the perfect partner-in-crime for your smartphones, tablets, and other portable devices. I highly recommend buying yours today. (Posted on 3/4/14)

NT135T
Love the charger. I have had the charger for a week and it came out out of the box with a full charge. I charged my Galaxy Note 3 twice and my Galaxy Tablet one and the charger still has great amount of charge in it. The charger is rugged in its feel, with no sharp corners to hit when I'm moving it around so I don't have to worry about nicking them. I also love the fact that when it is done charging my device it shuts of, that is great. I would recommend & have recommened this charger.

Two things that I would change, 1) instead of 1 LCD 4-5 showing the power level of the battery. 2) add the wall plug to the packaging most people have lost the ones that come with their device or are with the wall chargers they all ready have, you have the USB-Micro cable already its a few cents more for the wall plug with the USB slot.

10/10 best charger! Review by Paul
Rating
10/10 product.

Used out of the box without charging to drain the power completely, then cycling the battery pack from scratch. From the blue LED icon, it charged my iPhone 5S from 1% to 100% about four times.

The physical attributes to this external power pack was light and solid; high quality material. However it was disappointing to see that the charge amps were only at 3.7v, which made charging take 8 hours on my end. Implementing a built-in wall adapter would have been a nice add-on for future generations of this portable charger.

The durability and quality of this is not any of those cheaply made Chinese chargers, but a quality matte finish leaving no stains and is smooth to the touch. I recommend this to everyone.

The powerpack + is perfect for anyone that needs to charge your phone or tablet on the go. One of the features that I like that is that it is very light and small, which is perfect for traveling and other day to day activities. It is also very durable and feels very well made. NT135T was what I needed! Review by Luan
Rating
I purchased this for a long trip, and it was one of the best advance planning I have done. With a 19-hr. long trip from DC to Phoenix and 3 different flights, this thing saved my iPhone and the iPhone of one of my neighbors on a flight. This powerpak was indispensable because I relied on my iPhone for navigation in my rental car. This unit feels light but it just lasts and lasts. It took me a while to get used to pushing a button to get the charger to start charging a connected device because normally there is no button needed to be pushed when one plugs an iPhone to a wall charger. Nicely built solid and stylish battery with good capacity Review by hotsaucejunkie
Rating
It's a bit early to fully review my external battery. I'm really happy with it so far though. I'd consider this a preliminary review. Small enough to fit in the side pocket of my backpack for easy access, but good amount of juice. I have been using it to charge my very battery deficient htc one so far. I haven't run into a scenario yet where the external battery died.

I really like the look and the solid build feel of the external battery. It do find it quite heavy, however. Manageable, and worth the weight if you need the extra battery life, but hefty. I have used the monoprice 9283 5000 mAh external battery. It is much smaller and lighter and also a good product, but I have exhausted it's supply semi regularly. Comparing the two, the slightly soft exterior of the monoprice battery makes me feel a little more comfortable carrying it around. It just feels like it will survive a drop. Whereas the lovely New Trent NT135T feels heavy and inflexible enough that I would be concerned about a drop.

Despite these differences, the New Trent is now my main external battery. The extra juice and quality build are worth it to me, especially for travel. I like not having to always worry about recharging the external battery. The monoprice has been relegated to basement duties. (Posted on 2/13/14)
Great battery for the money Review by Brendon

I recently purchased the Powerpak+ NT135T to help power my devices when I travel. I usually travel with my iPhone (which has a mophie air juicepack case), my iPad Air, and my nintendo 3ds XL. I'm an experienced traveler (300+ flights) so I'm very comfortable navigating airports and airport security, and am usually on my 3ds and/or iPad and/or iPhone from the time I board the airport shuttle, until I touch down at my final destination. As a professional stuntman, I also spend long hours on set waiting for lights and camera to be set up, sometimes up to 15 hours a day, more then half of which which usually be spent on some sort of device.

Prior to buying the PowerPak+, I picked up a similar portable power source called the myCharge, which I purchased at Home Depot for around the same price (about 40$). After using the myCharge (which for some reason comes with two usb ports, even with it's low charge capacity), I came to realize that the meager 11.1 Wh capacity was only about enough to recharge my 3ds or iPhone back to 100% one time before it required recharging. Needless to say the agony of being forced to choose between Facebook and Mario Kart often ended with me camping near an outlet trying to scrounge every last bit of charge, thereby rendering my portable battery almost completely useless.

I had resigned myself to my unwarranted Device Control system until I happened to stumble across the powerpak+ while perusing thinkgeek.com for geeky goodies to fuel my inner nerd fire. At a quick glance it appeared to be very similar to the myCharge device I already owned, so I figured that with two such devices I would be able to power both my iPhone and 3ds or iPad. I assumed that the "high capacity" label was a stretch of the truth for marketing purposes. Once I received my PowerPak+ I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was much more tech-chic. Whereas my myCharge was belligerently loud with it's yellow and gray jacket (which, alongside it's "rugged" build, it touted as being ideal for use on construction sites), the PowerPak was more respectably garbed in quintessential charcoal and gray, and would be completely at home on my desk amongst my ever expanding collection of hard drives, speakers, monitors, and various bluetooth gadgets. Moreover, the dimensions and sharply angled design of the PowerPak made a mockery of the myCharge's similarly sized, yet cumbersomely round and space inefficient profile. I was also happy to see that the PowerPak had a slick three-color LED light which would alert you to the approximate charge level, as opposed to the myCharge's Mr. Speak-and-Spell-esque "two out of three battery chunks remaining" display.

Where the PowerPak really triumphed over the myCharge was in its 50 Wh charge capacity. After a full charge, my PowerPak has fueled my 3ds' power consumption for 5 days on set so far without a second recharge. Although I do charge my 3ds back to full via a regular home outlet every night before leaving again for work the next morning, it is doubtless a feat my myCharge would have been unable to compete against. Nor will it need to. After my week-long trial period with the PowerPak+ I can say with great confidence that it has become my preferred portable device power supply, and made me a supporter of New Trent's products. The features touted by the PowerPak+ demonstrate an understanding and appreciation for the demands of its customers, and the prices reflect a commitment to an honest profit, without screwing the consumer.

I would enthusiastically recommend New Trent products to my friends, family, and colleagues, and I would proudly be a pioneer-user of any new products they introduce. (Posted on 2/12/14)
Solid performer at a reasonable price Review by John
Rating
New Trent packs a lot of power, pun intended, into a little device that
seems to be the perfect answer to my need for power backup for my Google
Nexus 7 and my Galaxy 4S.

The NT-135T will come in handy on my trans-Pacific adventures to
Cambodia, where I assist with a Long Beach, California, charity, Hearts
Without Boundaries, that brings cardiac specialists to the Khmer kingdom
to fix the defective hearts of poor children.

Traveling back and forth entails extended periods when I need the
assurance of dependable backup power and my first few weeks with the
NT-135T suggest that this powerful little block, slightly smaller than a
paperback book, has the punch to do the job. When it arrived I powered
it up and then used it to charge up the depleted batteries of the Nexus
and the Galaxy, which it did quickly and efficiently.

The NT-135T features two USB ports, one for Smartphones and a punchier
one for tablets, and with its minimalist controls is essentially
idiot-proof, although a better way of indicating its real-time power
level would be a plus in future editions. For charging it’s a BYOP –
Bring Your Own Plug – story. A wall plug is not included, but that is no
big deal since we all have scads of the USB plug devices laying around
and after I tried several it was evident that any one apparently works
just fine.

Construction is downright sturdy so I have no fears of it getting dinged
in my backpack as I wander around the Cambodian outback. The only real
control is a simple two-second on/off button (Two seconds keeps you from
accidentally turning it on).

Several weeks of around-the-house use have been impressive and I can’t
wait until April, when we return to Cambodia to prep for a June medical
mission. That will to give it a true in-the-air test (takes about 30
hours in airports and on airplanes to get from Los Angeles International
Airport to Phnom Penh).

Overall, the NT-135T is a solid performer at a reasonable price. Now if
they could figure out a way to make it work with the weird proprietary
plug on my Surface 2 Pro.

And one other thought: Recently I had the chance to deal with New Trent
on an unrelated issue and found their customer service to be responsive,
efficient, user friendly and just downright friendly. (Posted on 2/11/14)

I've been using the New Trent power pak model # NT135T for almost a month now and I charged it for the first time at 27 days and I charge my galaxy s3 fully at least 10 times durring that time. I don't know if that is the standard for this power pack but I know that I have already recommended it to several of my friends because of the long lasting battery life. Some of my friends own other brands of power/ battery paks and none of them can stand up to this one. I did find one down side to it though because It is a little big. It's more for the commuter or student that can pack it in a suit case or back pack or in my case a lunch box. Honestly other than that I am one satisfied customer. (Posted on 2/2/14)

The New Trent PowerPak+ external battery is great in more ways than one. First, the long lasting battery life allows users to charge their devices multiple times before the PowerPak+ needs to be recharged itself. Secondly, the size of the PowerPak+ is perfect suited to fit in many pockets and allows you to store it away until needed. Lastly, the weight of the PowerPak+ didn't make any noticeable difference to the amount of cords and chargers I already carry around with me on a daily basis, in fact, I have been leaving my charger for my iPhone and iPad at home and using the PowerPak+ on the go for all my charging needs. A Must Have!! Review by Nicole

After using the New Trent Powerpak for a week now I have to say that I’m definitely sold on the item. We are a family of 5 with many different brands of phones, tablets etc. and everyone had great results. The items we tested were:

iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy 3, Nexus 7 tablet, iPad 4th generation and iPod 4th generation.

As previously stated, each of the devices above charged very well with the Powerpak. We loved that we could charge two devices at once. Even when doing this, we did not feel as though it took longer to charge the devices together than it would have individually. I should also add that the Powerpak was fully charged on day 1 and we did not have to recharge it even after a week of use. That was a perk that surprised me.

This item is great to have around! (Posted on 1/29/14)

PROS: Reliable power pack for charging my Android phone and tablet. The unit has a 3 color LED (Green/Blue/Red) to notify of battery status. Under a green LED I consistently get 5-7 charges, under blue I get another 5-7 charges before turning red. Great build quality, not too big or heavy. The felt pouch is handy to protect the unit and hold the USB cable.

CONS: None really just a personal preference to have included it's own charger. (Posted on 1/28/14)
Faster, more, and reliable PowerPak Review by Chad

New Trent powerpak+ product model number NT135T.
I have been using this product for three weeks now, and have had the chance to use the powerpak+ on several of my devices during that time and had the chance to recharge it over several occasions. During this time, I only found minor changes that would make the device more user friendly.
The first thing I would add is in the directions is a clause that the older (1.5 Amp) chargers do not provide enough power to fully charge the powerpak. Especially if you were to use the included USB cord with an iPhone 4 wall charger to charge the powerpak. I also had to be careful which USB port of my computer I attached the powerpak to in order to recharge it because only two of the four ports had enough power to charge the powerpak NT135T.
The second thing I would change is the color of the LEDs. Blue is just not a standard color for power levels that the average user understands or readily recognizes. Orange or yellow would be a recognizable and understandable replacement for middle power instead of blue.
The last thing I would change to make the powerpak NT135T more user friendly would be to make the ink/writing that tells/reminds the user what the two USB ports are for. Grey ink on grey plastic is just not readable to the average user. White on grey would be more conducive to readability for most users, especially when they need to quickly plug in a device that is running out of power.
The powerpak stays charged longer, charges other devices quicker, and becomes fully charged quicker than other devices I have tried which made similar claims. It is the perfect shape to fit in a pocket for portability. Overall, I would rate the device a 4 on a 1-5 scale. (Posted on 1/28/14)

However, i was very pleased to discover how useful the device proved itself to be during the multiple power outages my region has experienced this winter. I have been able to charge my mobile phone and bluetooth speaker multiple times with ease without draining the powerpak. (Posted on 1/27/14)

I find that I have more electronic gadgets than I ever expected to have. When I travel it is hard to keep them charged. Even in the car, I don't have enough time to fully charge things. This battery is great. It charged both my smart phone and my tablet in about the same time it takes to charge in a wall socket. I especially like the dual ports. An external battery I bought in the past took forever to charge my tablet, but this battery handles both easily. (Posted on 1/21/14)

I Would highly recommend this battery pack because of it's very high capacity. I use it just about everyday on my iPad mini Retina and my iPhone 5s, a friends 4s and her beats pill. And I only need to charge it once every ~1.5 weeks. (Posted on 1/18/14)
Long Lasting and easy to use! Review by Dennis
Rating
I was pleasantly surprised at how long lasting this Battery Pack would be when I took it to Japan on a backpacking trip. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge up (as I can recall) and I was able to charge my phone around 10-12 times. When I got back to the States, I had left it unused for a few months (with charge remaining), and to my surprise it held the charge for the entire period of time. I didn't have to recharge it first to use it again after a few months. This means this could be excellent if you just left it in your car or with your emergency supplies as a backup charger for your electronics. I am very impressed! (Posted on 1/14/14)

After using my NT135T for almost 3 weeks I have realized how much this devices benifits me. I carry it around in my bag to school everyday just I case I need to charge my phone or iPad. I have also other people charge their devices too. I have charged 3-4 iPhones and half of my iPad in one day and the NT135T still wasn't dead. I one thing I really like about is the different voltage USB ports. I can charge my iPad at full speed, or my iphone at super speed, or both at the same time. Also I like that it uses micro USB to charge so I don't need to carry around any proprietary connectors. I really don't have any dislikes, it has performed everyday I have expected and more. Rating is 5 for sure. (Posted on 1/11/14)

Great power source Review by Michael
Rating
I was fairly impressed with the capacity of the battery pack, my phone (an HTC DNA) under normal use will usually use about 70% of its charge in one day (normal daily use include use as a GPS, internet radio over bluetooth to my car and internet/email at least a few hours each day). It lasted Friday through Monday under constant use before the battery died.

A more specific charge level display would be very helpful, the color coded levels leave for a very broad range. This is definitely a great power source for people who work in the field and may be away from normal power sources for an extended period of time. One feature that would make this a must have would be if there was a model with a Qi compliant charger on one side. Most of the time I have been using this has been with a Qi charger, to have it integrated would be much more convenient. (Posted on 1/7/14)
Good product that needs a little tweaking to make it great. Review by Chris
Rating
This device is very compact, portable, and convenient. At first, I questioned how often I would use this with having all of my charging cords for the car, and home, etc. but soon found out that I could plug into this and still go wherever I wanted or needed to without worrying about unplugging my phone, iPad, or whatever USB device I have plugged in at the time.
It also holds a charge for quite some time as I was able to fully charge 3 smart phones, a tablet, and then start charging another smartphone before it was starting to need a recharge.
This would work especially well for those on the go as you can charge your tablet/smartphone while in a cab, on an airplane, etc. The device is not much larger than a smartphone, so you can fit it in your jacket, pants pocket, etc.
The only thing that I thought should be improved is a status bar for the charge. It was green when charged and then went right to red for needed to be recharged, some sort of status bar would be beneficial for charge status.
Overall, my rating of this product would be a 5 as it was a great benefit.

Powerpak+ Nt135T, 13500mAh @3.7v 41/2 Stars

Pros
The New Trent Nt135T PowerPak has exceeded our expectations from the moment we opened the box. Having previously used a smaller backup power source (smaller in both physical size and capacity) from a different manufacture that did not perform as expected we probably had our target set to low. The New Trent PowerPak is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket but provides power of units considerably larger and heavier. With two (2) USB Charging Ports the Nt135T allows for charging multiple devices simultaneously (a feature missing in many of your competitor’s products). In addition to multiple ports, we knew from experience that the capacity of the Nt135T will fully recharge our entire families collection of depleted devices which presently include a Samsung Galaxy Tablet (plus associated Bluetooth Keyboard), Apple iPad2 (plus associated Bluetooth Keyboard), Kindle Fire, Apple iPhone 4S, Palm Pixi, LG Optimus and an HTC EVO with power to spare.

Cons
None

Recomendations
The only reason we could not give a solid 5 STARS is the limited means of determining the current state of charge/discharge. Using the color of a single LED to display the state of Charge or Discharge does not provide enough information to accurately gauge the current state. Our only recommendation for improvement would be to provide a better display of current state. Perhaps a series of 5 LED’s to display current state I.E. None - 0% 1 - 20% 2 - 40% 3 - 60% 4 - 80% 5 - 100%

Very impressed Review by Gabriel

I was thoroughly impressed with this product. It is slick, well packaged, and sturdy. I like the look of it and felt that it was well marked for end user utilization. I was able to perform multiple charges on my iPhone, Galaxy S3, Verizon Jetpack, and iPad (not full charges), before it ran out. Very nice for being on the road. I also appreciated that it came with a nearly full charge out of the box. It charges my phones and iPad quickly and can charge both simultaneously without any noticeable heat issues or slowing of charging. I think the plastic feet on the the bottom covering the screws could have been rubber to provide more sure footing and traction but that is a very minor observation. Another minor observation was the carrying bag which I felt was a little chincy and low quality but I don't know that I will use that often anyway... it just didn't seem to reflect the quality that I felt the battery pack possesses. The LED displaying the charge levels was very nice and I think the 3 colors were a nice touch to provide feedback on battery charge. The charge time for the battery pack was long but not troublesome if I planned ahead. I just plugged it when when I got home and it was ready before I went to work. Not a problem at all especially for all the life I got out of it. I would highly recommend this product to friends or family. (Posted on 1/1/14)
Good Charger for your Phone or Tablet. I recommend. Review by Nailah
Rating
I like the battery very much. It charges my phone faster than my other two battery chargers I own and it doesn't lose power quickly when I charge my phone. There are a few things that would be helpful to change. Every time I charge my tablet, or phone and charger together, it completely drains a fully charged battery in less than one hour. Also, I do not really like the battery charge indicator. It would be more helpful if the indicator gradually let you know how much charge is left as opposed to one light that changes color. The pouch that it comes in is very nice and it keeps the battery protected.
The staff is amazingly nice, attentive, and responsive. (Posted on 12/31/13)

This battery is amazing! Since I recieved it I have found that I can charge my iphone 5 completely 8 times on one charge. The charging of devices is fairly rapid- an hour and 20 mins. It is shock proof as advertised: I dropped it from a height of 8 ft 3 times and it still worked like a champ. After trying that, I had to test the waterproof claim. I put the battery in a pitcher of water for 5 min. When I pulled it out all the connection sites were dry under their covers and still worked! This is an amazing product, can't say enough good about it!
Pros:
1) quick charge
2) large capacity
3) shock proof
4) water proof
5) great LED display for battery life
6) very easy to use
Cons:
This is the first product that I have absolutely no complaints about. (Posted on 12/26/13)

This battery is amazing. I have owned several different external batteries and this one has been by far the best.
Pros: 1) ease of use. Battery is very simple to use. It has one button for on/off, three ports: phone/tablet/power, and that is it. 2) quickness of charge. This battery rapidly charges your electronics. My iPhone charges in about half the time of using an outlet charger. 3) Battery life. I have been able to charge my iPhone 10 times before having to recharge the battery. 4) Size. The battery is slightly larger and thicker than the iPhone 5, making it easy to take with you anywhere.
Cons: 1) The only gripe I have is that it only comes with a USB charger to charge battery with. I ended up using an old iPhone power plug. I would recommend this battery without hesitation. (Posted on 12/17/13)

Nice and comfortable size, not too heavy so it can be easily carried in your travel bag. Which is exactly what you want from a product like this. Comes with a un-declared or a surprise case. Nice added bonus to find, perfect to protect from scratches. Charges the iphone a good few times fully without having to be charged its self. I have never felt like it should have preformed better while using it to charge my iphone5 or ipad mini. Easy to use. takes a long time to fully charge the power pack itself, so charge it the night before you need it if you will be away from a source of power for a while. (Posted on 12/14/13)

il make this review short.

i purchased this and another lower capacity batt bank and im quite impress by it. what didn't impress me is the lousy charging cable that comes with it. it doesnt fit samsung note 2 or 3 properly unlike the chargers that comes with the phone. its so loose that i have to constantly check whether my phone is charging. if that's not bad enough, both cables stop working after 2 weeks.

now im using the original charging cable from samsung and 1 thing i notice about this is that it charges slower than the cable from new trent.

I bought this product to keep my Galaxy Note 3, and my iPad Air powered up while out at the horse track. While I have not yet used it for the ipad yet, I have used it several times on my Note 3. I can say it charges my phone as fast as being plugged into the wall charger. My power went out last week for 24 hours with the ice storms that hit my area. The NT135T not only kept my phone charged, but the indicator still showed green. Really nice to know I don't have to worry about getting stuck without power. I also found it to be a great value at the price. I recommend getting one. If you have ever been without power, this will solve the issue. (Posted on 12/10/13)
Perfect for the right situation--solid charger for a long day Review by Amy Beth
Rating
The New Trent PowerPak+ did successfully charge both my iPad and iPhone from 50-75% to full overnight, but did not have quite enough juice to do the same the next night when the iPad was run down to closer to 10% charge remaining. I could see how it would be useful on a long plane flight, or in an all-day meeting where regular outlets were unavailable. It definitely worked as expected.

One thing I really appreciated about the PowerPak+ was that it shuts off when the device battery gets full. The previous battery case I had for an iPhone would run through it's entire battery trying to keep the iPhone charged to 100% even though if I had shut it off it could have recharged the iPhone 2 or 3 times before needing a recharge. Conserving that charge in the PowerPak+ instead is a really nice feature. I expect that my child, taking a bus tour abroad will really find it useful, since one can't always depend on finding a plug, or having enough in the room for everyone to charge their toys. I don't have a lot of reasons to carry it around with me every day, but for meeting a specific need when I can't get to a plug, it's perfect! (Posted on 12/6/13)
Great power pack for a road warrior Review by Chris
Rating
Used with Samsung Note 2, Nexus 7 Tablet and URGE Basics Sound Brick.
Worked well with all of them, although I never achieved my estimate of the
full capacity that is probably because I never actually turn off my phone
or tablet as suggested in the manual. It definitely appears to charge the
phone (the item I use almost continually) at least twice and probably more.
It also charges the phone quickly, as least a fast as using the wall
charger.

Since I use my phone a lot, I have wall chargers at home and office as well
as in my car. As such I find this most useful when out in the field away
from my car. The Powerpak+ fits easily in a pocket. (Posted on 12/5/13)

I can echo the other positive reviews. This is a great external charger. It is well made and durable, so you can chuck it in your bag to take anywhere for that emergency charge when an outlet isn't available. I have another New Trent power pack and this one feels more solid and has more capacity.

It's a great size AND shape. It's about like two Android phones stacked on top of each other thick and the same size long and wide. It's the perfect potable charger.

Pluses:
Two output, one high apperage
Small size and weight.
Durable, rugged and sturdy,

Minuses;
Does it have any? I guess if you want you can say it has no display, but who cares? What color is the LED? that's all you need!

Impressive Review by Frank

Rating: 5 stars. The manual needs some more information in it but the device works well.
Target Audience: Device users who charge 5 VDC devices only.

What to expect:
• As the specs state, the weight is 289g (10.19 oz or 0.64 lbs) and the dimensions are 27mm x 68mm x 126mm (1” x 2.6” x 5”)…about the size of an iPhone 5.
• The charge strength is 13,500 mAh. Translated, this means the thing will provide 13.5 amps for an hour. Since tablets and phones don’t draw such current, this power pack will last a while when charging your device(s).
• It takes about 11 hours for the device to charge fully from a fully discharged state, so keep that in mind when you begin to use this.
• This power pack charges your device and will shut itself off once the device is fully charged. That is, if you connect a tablet or phone and turn on the power pack, you will see your device charging and see the power pack indicator showing that it is charging until the device reaches 100% charge. The power pack will not stay on and provide a charge to the device unless the device is actually still on and using power. And if your device goes to sleep (or a low power condition) the power pack will not continue to charge the device.
• If you disconnect a USB cable from one port and move it immediately to another, the power pack will turn itself off. You will have to turn it back on in order to resume charging.
• There are three LED indicators
o Green – a high charge is left on the power pack.
o Blue – a medium charge is left on the power pack.
o Red – a low charge is left on the power pack.
• When plugging the power pack into AC power to charge itself, the LED will flash on and off indicating where it is in the charge level.
• When turning on the power pack, press and hold the power on/off button until the LED lights up steadily. The LED will eventually turn off but the charging will continue. This is not defined in the manual.
• There are two USB charge ports; one provides 1A of charge and another provides 2.1A of charge. Which one you choose will determine how long it will take to charge your device.

• This is a trickle charge power pack so don’t expect something like a car charger to fast charge your device.

The results of my testing.
I used an iPad mini as my main test device. I also connected secondary devices just to see how the power pack would fare under additional load tests. The other devices were an iPad 2, iPhone 5 and an Android Venue 8 tablet. I kept the iPad mini on all the time as the main test benchmark. Unless otherwise stated, when charging device, I ensured the power pack was not connected to a power source. I let it do the charging purely from its stored power.
• When I first turned on the power pack, it took a little watching on my part to see how the power pack behaved. I expected the power LED to stay on while it was charging. But, sure enough, the power pack still charged my primary device even after the LED turned off. The rather Spartan manual does not mention this so I was unsure I was doing things properly. But it didn’t take long to see how it was working.
o I think the manual (or something) should let the user know what to expect when using it. Yes, it does say how to turn it on but it doesn’t state what to expect. Doing the latter might let users know where the bar is when evaluating this thing they just bought. It would also avoid confusion.
• After fully charging the power pack, I attached my iPad mini to the 5V/1A charge port and just let it run. It took about 12 hours before the power pack was drained and the mini charge dropped to about 47%. I disconnected the iPad and recharged the power pack.
• I repeated this test again. Sure enough, at about 12 hours the power pack was drained. I waited longer and allowed the iPad to drain to 14%. After recharging the power pack, I plugged the iPad back into the power pack. It took about 6 hours for the iPad to recharge. Since the iPad mini is rated at about 24 watts, this seems to be about right.
• I also ran tests where two devices were connected. The power pack discharged at a quicker rate, as it should have.
• I test charged the iPad mini using the 5V/2.1A port. As expected, it took a shorter time for it to charge the device. Approximately 4 hours.

I’m really impressed with this, so far (I’ve had it for a short time). I’ve had other charging devices for my iPhone; namely a case that also kept my phone charged all the time. That was nice but it failed prematurely. I guess because it was always on and always trying to maintain a charge. I like this because it shuts itself off after the device is fully charged, thus preserving its own charge.

(seemingly) UNLIMITED POWER! Review by Kyle
Rating
While the NT135T doesn't actually have unlimited charge, with it's massive 13500 mAh battery it's sure doing it's best to trick you into thinking it. I have been using this device to charge my 3DS and my MP3 player since I got it in anticipation for a trip from the Eastern Coast of the US to India, and after using this thing for a couple weeks, I am well assured that I will have no problem keeping my devices in full working order, while being the envy of the airport as they fight for a wall outlet. :P

The device comes equipped with 2 USB ports, one outputting 1 amp for smaller devices, and 2 amps for larger devices. While i've not had the opportunity to test the larger port, the device has been working flawlessly charging up my 3ds multiple times, sometimes being made to charge the device while it's in use. I am fairly sure that my father will be stealing the device to charge his iPad while I visit as well, and probably will get one of his own shortly after I leave.

The PowerPack + is cased in a durable and textured plastic cover, complete with ridges to give it extra grip on whatever surface you may set it on. The corners are a little rough, but they are out of the way and you are unlikely to ever touch them.

This device absolutely gets a 5 stars out of 5 for it's incredible performance, and i'm sure that anyone else who purchases this device will agree that it will be one of our indispensable tech gadgets. (Posted on 11/19/13)
Powerful device! Review by noel

Let me start with the build of this product. It’s looks sturdy, well built and not bulky for the amount of charge it holds (13500 mAh). I have an iTorch portable charger which is 5200 mAh and this weighs about the same. Though I wouldn’t carry it around me all the time as I do with the iTorch. So when I received the NT135T, I let it charge first. After about two hours of charging, I decided to test this item. I got my HTC one with 4% charge on it and put this to test. Charging time is little slow, as I would expect compared to the charge via wall charger. It took me about an hour to get a full charge on my HTC one. I thought the NT135T would come with indicators that would tell you how much charge is remaining. But it doesn’t and that’s fine. One thing is that when your phone is fully charged, it turns off automatically and that’s a real battery saver right there! So it has two USB ports, each specifically marked for charging smartphones and tablets. Now I wanted to see how it would act when I charge my fully discharged Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Took me another hour and half to get full charge on the Note, while I was using the tablet. So it is a decent amount of time provided I was using the tablet when charging it. A 13500 mAh wouldn’t just die after two charges. I used it the next day again to charge my phone plus the tablet. Also, I love sitting in the couch, with my phone next to me and when I don’t have a charging port nearby, this is a savior! This is something you wouldn’t want to forget when you are away from your home at a camp or something. You’ll feel like you have the wall charger in your pocket. The NT135T still hasn’t died on it’s third day of test. Here are some of its features I like and I don’t.
Likes:
1. Well built, not too big and compact for the number of times it can charge your phone or tablet.
2. Unlike other portable chargers, it doesn’t get hot at all.
3. Dual USB ports make it easy to charge a phone and tablet at the same time, though the charging time may vary.
4. It’s size makes it easy to carry around in a backpack.
5. After your phone or tablet is fully charged, it turns off automatically.
6. You don’t have to worry about charging your phone through a car charger, just take this and go. Your charging port is free for your GPS now!
Dislikes:
1. No charge indicators, so you wouldn’t know how much charge is left on it before it turns red and shuts off. (update: The NT135T LED indicator works as follow for charge indication:)
Red - 10-40% Blue - 40-75% Green - 75-100%
2. A little too big to carry around in pocket.
3. No external torch light(in case you forgot to bring a light at the camp lol)

On a scale of 1 to 5; This products deserves a 5. Excellent product.
I am very happy with this product and would do business with NewTrent in the future too. (Posted on 11/14/13)

Power anywhere gives me piece of mind! Review by Sherise

I've used this device for a couple weeks and love it! It is very compact, measuring only slightly bigger than an iPhone 4 and twice as thick. Here are my findings compared to the company's specs...

* Heavy Duty 5V@2A-1A Dual USB External Battery Charger, charges 2 devices simultaneously. 2A output for iPad/Tablet and 1A output for iPhone/Smartphones.
...Yes, it can charge 2 devices simultaneously. However, it is helpful to know that when an iPad and an iPhone are charged at the same time, the NT135T can only handle one full charge of each before the unit itself needs to be charged again, while two iPhones can simultaneously be charged 4 times. It will charge a single iPad once and a single iPhone 8 times before it needs to be recharged again.

* Compatible with most Smartphone's (Apple, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, Nokia, Blackberry, Sony, etc...) 5V Tablets and compatible devices.
...I have only Apple devices, so I can only confirm for those :)

* No iPhone/iPad adapter or cable is included, but the PowerPak+ NT135T is compatible with the original Apple Lightning/30-pin cables.
...I was able to successfully charge using the original Apple Lightning/30-pin cable as well as the newest Apple 8-pin cable.

* AC wall charger is not included, but the PowerPak+ NT135T can be recharged from any standard 5V/2A USB charge ports: computer USB ports and USB wall chargers
...It's true :) It charged from my computer's USB port as well as my USB wall charger.

I give the NT135T a 5-star rating as I have not found anything that I did not like about it and it has met any expectation I had of an external charger. I would definitely recommend this to all and anyone who has found themselves driving somewhere with their phone at 5% battery life only to have to stop car-charging when you've reached your destination, still with a nearly dead phone. It fits in my purse and can charge while I'm shopping and I can still take notes and pictures with it or make a phone call. I love having the peace of mind of a fully functional cell phone, even when I was the one who forgot or didn't have time to charge it before I left the house :) (Posted on 11/12/13)

Surprisingly more compact and small it is considering its 13,500 mAh capacity, which is pretty huge. Love the fact that it has a matte finish, rendering fingerprints useless. The ridges on the body help so that it doesn't slip out of your hard or surface easily. Overall it has a very rugged exterior, especially for its light weight.

Usage is very easy to grasp and understand. To start charging you have to hold the power button down for about 3-5 seconds, then the green light will flash signaling on. Battery life is very long and I can rely on it to charge what I need to (iphone) multiple times before I have to charge the pack itself (for me about a week). Very pleased with this product.

The small carrying sack is a plus and very handy when I take the battery pack around. Its large enough to barely fit the pack itself and a cord to connect to my device. The material it is made of seems to be of a high quality, thick suede like fabric.

Really great thing to have, especially when there are no outlets around. (Posted on 11/12/13)

This is my first time purchasing a back-up power source. I read the reviews and decided on this model because of power 13500 mAh. Some people say it does not charge your IPad but it did for me. You just have make sure you put in the correct USB connection. It charged my IPad & IPhone just as fast as if I had it plugged into an outlet. I was able to charge my IPhone (to 100%) numerous times on one charge on Trent Power-pak. I never tried to charge my IPad all the up to 100% yet with the Trent device yet, however I dic charge it to 90 percent with no problems at all. The Power-pak takes about 10 hours to charge completely from a dead power-pak. Bottom line if your looking for an auxiallry charging power-pak you really can’t go wrong with this one. One additional thing I wanted to add I did contract their Customer Service with a question and they replied back quickly (Posted on 11/6/13)

It has a huge battery life, but only two USB ports. With such a large power supply it should have more USB ports. It also slides too easily on smooth surfaces. These are small issues so I will still give it 5 stars. (Posted on 11/5/13)

I am more then pleased with the power pack that i own it is very useful and comes in handy many times when your on the go or even if your somewere were you jus cannot find an outlet to plug up you phone or ipad/tablet, 13,500mah is more than enough battery life charges phones well over 6 times and is probaly the one biggest size out the market espically at this price, Product is also very innoviative. I give this product a 5 because it works very well and its at a price u cant beat. Also when charging this product make sure you have the right charger or a chrger that is rated over 5v/1.5A otherwise it well take you alot longer to charge your battterypack new trent also offers a wall charger thatwill work perfectly.

Pros:
Huge Battery charger
Two charging ports one for smartphones and one for tablets
Portable and light isnt to big and dose not weigh you down
Uses a micro usb that is easy to find but is also included
charges your phone way more thank 5 times on a single charge compared to other company products that only claim to charge phone not table only once or twice

Cons:
On and off button is hard to reach.
Dose not come with certified wall charger that is rated to work best with the battery pack. (Posted on 11/5/13)

I found the product to do just what it says it will. In my use, I was able to get at least five FULL charges (and in many cases, 6 or 7) when my battery on my iPhone 4s was under 10%. It could also charge my iPad and iPhone simultaneously for at least 3 charges. I do wish it had some better indicator lights, or indicators for which USB port was which as it is a little difficult to read - but that is minor. Overall, a great product (Posted on 11/4/13)

Coming from an New Trent Easypak, it's a much different
experience. The obvious noticeable difference is the battery life compared
to the easypak, it absolutely blows it away. As someone who plays Ingress
on my mobile phone (an augmented reality game played outdoors), this is
extremely important. I was able to play Ingress for 2 days for hours on
end and still have juice leftover in the battery pak. With my previous
battery, i could last a whole day, maybe 5-6 hours of playtime. Obviously
there's a compromise to having a battery pack with this much juice, the
Powerpak+ is bigger and heavier, but as a serious Ingress player, it's a
tradeoff i'd gladly make. I could especially see this as being useful if i
go camping or hiking or going on vacation and taking pictures all day long
with my smartphone. Overall, i'd give it 5 stars. (Posted on 11/4/13)

This product is great! You can pretty much charge anything with a USB port. I used it to charge my smartphone and iPad at the same time... But you can also use it to charge two phones and the charge speed is the same whether you use one or both ports. You can get multiple charges before you have to recharge. Charges faster than car chargers. Great for trips. (Posted on 11/3/13)

This is a refreshing design for these external batteries.
The matte finish frees you of worries about scratching it, and it seems like it could take some slight beating.
I feel confident that I could just throw it in my backpack.
It has a quality feel to it, and the packaging helps, too

It's handy that it provide dual USB port so I can charge two devices at once.
One of the USB port spits out 2.1A which is very impressive. It feeds up my nexus 7 just as fast as from a charger.
Haven't really experimented with the capacity, but for now I'd say it has at least 10000 mAh to output.
(note: all the batteries out there label their "capacity", but not necessary the same amount they could output.)

I would definitely recommend a friend! (Posted on 11/2/13)

>NT135T external battery review: I would rate this 4 1/2 stars.
-The only reason this product is not a 5 is due to the weight of it.
-The battery works well charging my and my families devices.
-You get multiple charges out of the battery which is very nice.
-I did a few test drops from 3 - 8 feet with it and it held up great.
-The indicator lights work well. No guess work regarding when to recharge
the battery.
-Together with the IMP90C dual usb wall charger this battery is the best I
have used to date.
-The labels below each usb charge port is a nice touch.
-I actually use the soft carry case to hold the wall charger and cables. :-) (Posted on 11/1/13)

I grabbed the New Trent NT135T PowerPak+ and I have been using it with my HTC One, iPod, iTouch, iPhone and my Kindle 7 HDX. I was able to take the unit with me to my sons baseball game and recharge my phone once I needed to since using the video camera sucks the energy out of the phone. I was able to recharge my phone several times on one charge of the powerpak. I was able to charge my Kindle back to full strength using the tablet designated USB port and still have power left to recharge other electronics. I was able to recharge the powerpak using the micro usb plugged into my New Trent IMP90C dual usb wall charger. I'm looking forward to bringing this powerpak on my next business because you always have trouble finding an electric outlet in the airport. This is a high capacity battery backup, so the size is slightly too large to put in your back pocket; as should be expected. It does fit in my coat pocket.

Great product that I would recommend for those that are not always around a power outlet. Actually, I'm using it around the house too! (Posted on 10/31/13)

Impressive:

1. It charged cell phone 5 times, ipod 1 time, Kindle Fire 1 time, ipad 1 time, and still had a blue light on power indicator. (Blue light indicates the charge is in the middle, not fully charged but not low). (Non of these devices needed full charges).
2. Instruction pamphlet was thorough. It gave optimal operation temperatures between 14 degrees Fahrenheit and 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Excellent range of temperatures.
3. Able to efficiently charge two devices at once.
4. Dual charging ports. One for tablets and one for smartphones.
5. Excellent for long travel trips. No need to find outlets in airports or be concerned about not being able to use tablets on planes.
6. Very convenient to charge cell phones or tablets without having to tether them to an electrical outlet. Very mobile. While I was charging my ipad, I continued to use the ipad and carried the powerpack and ipad from room to room.
7. Can be used in power outages to charge cellphones and tablets.
8. While charging the powerpak, I was able to charge a cellphone and an ipad.

Needs:
None that I encountered.

The New Trent PowerPak+ 13500mAh Portable Dual USB Port External Battery Charger/Power Pack is an excellent battery charger. I carried it in my purse and used it to charge devices on the go. Nothing like the security of knowing you have a power source at your disposal at all times. Especially one that is as powerful and efficient as this one.

New Trent Powerpak (NT120T) Review
The New Trent Powerpak (Model NT120T) offers 13500mAh of power to power most cellphones and tablets. Right out of the box the unit was ready to charge my portable devices. After giving the unit a full charge, I put the Powerpak to the test by charging a completed depleted Iphone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone simultaneously. Within 30 minutes both units were already at a 25% charge and both phones were completely charged at 100% at the 2 1/2 hour mark. The Powerpak remained cool to the touch during the entire charging process.

The Newtrent Powerpak comes with a android type charging cable which must be plugged into a USB capable wall charger. The wall charger is not supplied, but most products come with a wall charger anyway. The same cable can then be used to charge an Android smartphone type device. It also comes with a felt storage bag with drawstrings conducive to the unit. Once your device is fully charged the device powers down on it's own maintaining it's reserve power to charge future devices. While charging the Powerpak a small blue/green diode is visible on the unit. When charging the Powerpak alone, the diode also acts as indicator to display the charge status of the Powerpak using three different diode/indicator colors.

The New Trent Powerpak is light weight and can be easily placed in a coat pocket, hand bag or back-pack for easy transport. The only thing that I would suggest to improve this product is that the charging diode/indicator remain lit while the unit is charging devices. Otherwise, this is an exceptional model simply because it can charge two units at once in virtually no time at all. Having purchased additional New Trent products in the past, I am confident that this model is sure to please any buyer who looks to have the ability to charge multiple devices with a well made and compact device. My overall rating of this product is a "5". (Posted on 10/29/13)

Love my PowerPak NT135T Review by May

New Trent PowerPak+, NT135T is great! Right out of the box I was able to get 3 charges out of it for my Samsung Galaxy 3. I was a little surprised by the size and weight of it initially but given how much power it packs it made sense. I’ve thrown it into my purse and it has not made that much of a difference in weight but it has really been great knowing that my phone is charging as it is in my purse. It is actually very portable. It also gave my phone a full charge in about 4 hours even when I had let it drain to about 10%. It worked as well as plugging it into the wall unit directly. I was extremely happy with the results. My teenagers love it too, they love knowing that I have it in my purse and they can use it as needed. It came in handy for 2 long weekends of water polo tournaments.

I especially like how the battery indicator gave me plenty of notice as to when I would need to charge it. Green meant there was lots of juice, blue meant beware, running low and red told me to charge it. I also liked that when the charge was at 100% on my phone the PowerPak would turn itself off, thus saving the power for future charges. I was quite pleasantly surprised that it only took me about 6-7 hours to charge up the PowerPak itself. That was almost as long as it would take to charge the phone. With a full charge I was able to charge my S3 another 3 times and my IPAD3 twice.

Having two ports, one for a phone and one for a tablet is very handy since both my devices seem to agree when to run out of battery at the same time. I was also able to charge my Nook color with it.

I liked that it came with a carrying case and a USB cable to connect the phone to the battery pack. I purchased the New Trent IMP90C, dual USB wall charger so I could plug it into the wall to charge up the PowerPak. I liked having the dual charger because I was able to charge the PowerPak and my phone or other device at the same time.

Now that I have had the unit for a while and have many opportunities to use it, I like it even more than when I first got it.
The battery seems to last forever. I frequently am away from an electrical outlet and end up taking the battery pac (NT135T) to meetings with me to charge my phone and my ipad for the time I am in the meeting. Well now there are at least 4 others that bring in their cables because they know I will have my battery pack. It never goes an entire day without being used frequently and it never has run low, I charge it up when I go to bed and when I get up it is ready for another day.
It weighs so little that I can put it in my front pants pocket and carry it literally anywhere.
I have had at least two other people tell me that they are going to order one because of what they have seen with mine.
I could not have made a better acquisition. If it wasn't so light and portable I might have gotten another one but it can go anywhere you do and handle all of your charging needs.

A well constructed, easy to use powerful battery pack Review by Stats
Rating
This review is for New Trent PowerPak+ NT135T (13500 mAh):

I have bought a few New Trent battery packs from Amazon. I would say none of the package boxes was really eye pleasing even though I have liked all the battery packs from New Trent. This one is a little different: the box is a little smaller than IMP99C (9900 mAh), the color design of the box is more eye pleasing. It won't matter on Amazon as the box was never shown. But it may make a difference in a physical store.

Now the actual battery itself:

The good:

1. It is pretty light, just 10 oz considering it is rated at 13500 mAh. It is the biggest capacity I can find on Amazon from New Trent.

2. The size is relatively compact. It is about 3 times as thick as iPhone 5s, the same length as iPhone 5s, just a bit wider than iPhone 5s. Again considering the power it packs, it is not bad. I have no problem put it along with my iPhone 5s in my pants pocket.

3. Tuning it on is easy not like IMP99D (9900 mAh) I own. You only need press and hold the tiny power button a couple of seconds it will be on indicating by the only LED next to it. If there is no device connected, it shuts off after 30 seconds. I can imagine it can be accidentally turned on in your pockets or bags but it will shut off automatically, so not much harm will be done. When it is on, the charging of your device would start if a device is connected. It worked every time - much more reliable than IMP99D I have in terms of activating the charging process.

4. The one and only LED light is tiny and not too bright to disturb your sleep at night. But it is still bright enough for you to see. When it is being charged, the light blinks slowly. After seven hours, the LED turns solid green. The manual says it will take 11 hours to fully charge the battery. I started it when the light was red, and it took about seven hours for LED to turn to solid green. I waited for another hour or so, the light was still on. Not sure if it is still in the trickling charge mood and if the light will eventually turn of to indicate it is fully charged.

5. There is only one cable included, one end has a USB connector and the other end is a micro USB connector. There is no power adapter / wall charger included. You plug the micro USB into the battery and the USB connector into a USB wall charger or a computer's USB port to charge the battery. This design is brilliant. This cable can be used to charge the battery by plugging the micro USB end into the battery and the USB into a wall charger or computer's USB port. You can also use the same able to charge your phone if you have one using the micro USB: plug the micro USB into your phone and connect USB to one of the battery's USB port. One cable two uses, but you would still need another cable if you have an iPhone. I charged the battery with an original Apple wall charger of 10 W. I also tested it with my computer USB port. Both worked fine.

6. The build of the battery feels solid and sturdy. Two sides have the raised bumps t0 create valleys for easy heat dissipating. The surfaces are not slippery at all. You don't have to worry about it to slide off table.

7. A black velvet soft pouch is included. I managed to stuff both the micro USB charging cable and a 6-feet AmazonBasics lightning cable inside the pouch with the battery. It is a convenient way to keep things together. But the package box is smaller now, I would probably just use the box itself to carry the battery and cables. This is a good improvement.

The bad:

I did not really find any main flaws with this great battery pack. There are only four minor things I would improve: 1. It should be stated in the manual, when the LED light turns solid green, does it mean the battery is fully charged? Should it be unplugged as soon as its LED light turns solid green or is it still in trickling charging status? Should it be just kept plugged in and will it eventually be shut off automatically? Will it be overcharged if it is left plugged in for a prolonged period? Be clear, don't let people guess; 2. the label on the battery is printed too light, it is so hard to read. You can hardly read the label to see which port is 2 A (it is the middle one) or 1 A (the side one next to power button); 3. the power button is on the small side. People with fat fingers may have difficulty to use it. Make it a rectangle one instead of the tiny round one; 4. The length of the included cable could be a little longer. Just make it a three feet one.

Overall, I like this battery pack very much. I would give it 4.75 stars. If it is clear on the number 1 mentioned above, I would have given it 5 stars. (Posted on 10/8/13)
Great product, great price! Review by Demian

I purchased a New Trent Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad, and loved it so much that when we were planning a trip to the Bahamas, I wanted to try this product for backup power. First, this a compact unit, but feels really solid. Second, and most importantly, it charges like there's no tomorrow. It came with what must've been a full charge so, of course, I had to use it immediately. I was able to charge both my iPhone and iPad at the same time and, from less than 50%, they both charged fully within 45 minutes. Then I charged my wife's iPad, then my daughter's Kindle (I just realized I own too many electronics!). After all of this, there was still a green light and lots of charge left in this unit.

Functionally, it's really easy. Simply plug it in and it charges quickly. To use it, press a button on the unit, connect the charging cord and that's it!

There are two USB ports for charging - one set to output at 1.0 mA for phones, the other at 2.1 mA for tablets (I think).

We are also prone to power outages where we live, and I was able to keep our electronics going for two days with this unit. If only they made one big enough to keep my Xbox and TV going!

I highly recommend this product and, thus far, am very happy with my New Trent products. (Posted on 10/3/13)
Very nice product. Satisfied Review by Rob

First impressions - The PowerPak build quality seems fairly high. It has a nice solid weight and feel to it. I assume it came with a charge but I went ahead and topped it off because I knew that I would be bringing it to a wedding.

On the trip, I used this primarily with my iPad 4, my iPhone 5, and my
wife's iPhone 4S.

We used this as our primary charger during the entire trip- didn't bring
any other USB power sources.

With moderate device use, the NT135T lasted till the end of the trip
(3nights) and only ran out of power on the ride home. iPad 4 was charged
from 0% to 100% during this time and each of the iPhones was plugged in at
night to top off.

After depleting the power completely on the drive back, the PowerPak+
charged completely the next night.

Very satisfied with the sheer amount of charge we were able to get from
this. Overall a very good product.

The only shortcoming I can find is that on a smooth surface, the unit tends
to slide around a bit. I set it on top of my iPad case on the nightstand to
prevent it from accidentally sliding off.

After examining it closely, I found that what I initially thought might be
rubber traction feet are apparently just screw covers and don't actually
make contact with the surface it sits on. Although the unit is heavy enough
that it tends to sit still, the addition of some kind of rubber feet would
probably help it remain stationary.

In summation,

Pros
-Very sleek build. Heavy
-Holds a very large charge and seems to charge at the same speed as the wall
-2.1A for tablets is a nice addition
-Very portable (not much bigger than phone)
-Comes with a convenient carrying bag that chords can be stored in as well.

Cons
-Sometimes a little slippery on a smooth, hard surface.

Instead of carrying a barrage of USB adaptors, I can safely say that I feel
comfortable replacing them with the PowerPak whenever I'm on the road. (Posted on 10/2/13)

I currently own and use the Powerpak+ NT135T battery mutiple times throughout my busy day.I not only use it for my Iphone 5S but also for my Ipad Mini. I currentlly give this product a 4 Star rating out of 5 and here are my reasons why: 1. I wish the product was wraped and made of a more durable material other than plastic something to the degree of alluminum or of that nature for better protection. 2. I with the product came with mutiple common cables that people use for their devices in a much shorter version or can be made as a purchasing option to buy for spacific devices at an additional cost so people do not have to lug around these long cables as other competitors come with them. 3. Last I would to note that the packed instruction boolet could have a little more detail to using the product for example stating when charging the unit the green light will flash when the unit is fully charged the green light will stay solid letting you know product is ready to use whtch it currently does not state anything. All in all I really love this product and would recomend it to anyone including my friends and family whtch some of them have already bought one. This PowerPak is better than any of the competitors out there not only giving you more bang for your buck but giving you more charges for your device faster throughout people's long days. Thank you (Posted on 9/30/13)

A few years ago I wised up to the fact that instead of buying specific spare batteries for my mobile devices I could buy a back up battery that would service all of my devices agnostically. I have owned 3 generations of New Trent batteries and my most recent is the 135T. It's capacity/price ratio is fantastic. This battery last and lasts. I also like that it represents a return to USB charging eliminating the need for a dedicated charger. Like all New Trent products the build quality is rock solid. My wife's company gave her a back up battery after the recent black out in NYC. I looked at her and told her to toss it. The capacity was a tenth of the current New Trent and construction was shoddy. She complained that I was being a gadget head until she saw the New Trent and said, "um yeah, that's a lot better." Now she keeps it with her whenever she travels. If you are looking for a high capacity back up battery for your mobile devices the 135T is about as good as it gets. (Posted on 9/25/13)
Better than Batteries Review by Phalynxx

The New Trent Powerpak has been a great piece of utility for me as an on-the-go student. I bike around the bay area for school, sometimes traveling to 3 different campuses in a single day. Since I am usually absent from home for the majority of the day and in class for a significant part of the day, my devices run out of juice quite quickly. The powerpak gives my devices the ability to sustain use for the rest of the day.

I did some charge tests to verify New Trent's 6 charge generalization. Here were my results:
Droid 2 Global charge 5%-100% 1hr 41min, 8 charges
Ipad4 charge 5%-100% 4hr 32min 3-4 charges

So, obviously amount of charges depends on battery capacity, time to charge is also dependent on this too.

Overall, I am very pleased with the powerpak, the only downside is perhaps the added weight in my backpack as I ride. (Posted on 9/25/13)

This is a great device for charging any electronic device that can charge via USB. You can pretty much charge almost anything. I can charge my Sony camera, iphones, ipads, and galaxy. It charges my smartphone very quickly. I use this to charge devices for family trips such as the zoo, museum, park, theme parks, etc. It keeps our family devices going. I was tired of conserving my battery on these outings and now because of this portable charger I rarely worry about losing power. I use my phone whenever I want, without any worries. It is very well built and solid. The usb plugs into the ports securely and the battery is never hot. The battery is not too heavy and it easy to carry around. The only thing I would change is the battery indicator light. I wish there was a picture of a battery that displayed the level of power remaining. Instead the light changes color to indicate the amount of charge remaining in the NT135T. I would definitely recommend this and would buy this again. (Posted on 9/25/13)

The powerpak+ is a good product that provides everything that is advertised by New Trent. I have been using it everyday for about 3 weeks now to recharge my Note 2 phone and Ipad.

1. Design - The look and the feel of the NT135T is slick and compact. I had been looking to purchase a portable powerpacks for a while now but did not pull the trigger on any because none of them looked any good. Carrying a NT135T model is not just convenient, there is also a cool factor that is involved with it. Friends, co-workers and family at dinner parties and at my job instantly pick it up and start to stare at it and ask what is this when I have it out charging my devices.

2. Easy to Carry - This device is compact enough to fit in my pocket or in small sides of my backpack. I carry it everywhere with me because its small but still able to offer a lot of power.

3. Chargers Android and iOS devices - I buy products that are cool and have a use for what my day to day activities are. I have both Android and iOS devices and this powerpack charges both.

4. Dual USB ports - this helps with charging multiple devices at one time.

5. Weight - most powerpack chargers are heavy and bulky but NT135T only weights 1.2 pounds

6. 13500mhz - This thing is a beast when it comes to how many charges I can get for my devices. I love that I do not have to carry multiple chargers with me anymore, I have even dropped my car charger and just plug my phone into the NT135T when I start driving. (Posted on 9/24/13)
Great for business travellers Review by William
Rating
The Newtrent Powerpak+ model NT135T is a recharging unit for most 5v products, including cell phones, MP3 devices, pads and digital cameras. It can be charged from a wall charger or a USB port on a computer, and comes with a USB charging cable and drawstring pouch. The NT135T holds approximately 6 charges for an iPhone, or 3 charges for an iPad, and can itself be recharged about 500 times. In size, it's about the height and width of an iPhone, and about twice as thick.

This is a very useful product for business travelers. I travel to Asia frequently, and to Europe occasionally. When abroad, I purchase cell coverage for my iPhone and iPad for the duration of travel, usually one or two weeks. My batteries are exhausted much more quickly abroad than at home, because the foreign plan may switch from one local provider to another. In the past, this meant powering the phone or pad down when not in use; otherwise, the battery would be exhausted by mid- to late afternoon.

The NT135T changes all of this; I recommend pairing it with Newtrent's NT90C USB Power Adaptor (which can run on 100 - 240 volts), and using it one of two ways. First, you can can simply carry it with you, use it when needed, and recharge it overnight at your hotel room. Alternatively, you can leave it charging at your hotel during the day, and use it to recharge your devices overnight, thereby freeing your hotel room's outlets for other things. With the NT135T, you need never again interrupt a business meeting to search for an outlet, and leave your phone or pad leaning against a wall.

Excellent, Well Built Powerpak. Review by VicDog

I was planning an all day trip to the Mall of America with my two grandkids so I purchased A Model NT135T Powerpack+. With this unit I was able to keep my Nexus 7 2nd Gen and my smartphone charged all day. The unit has two ports. One is a “full power” port of 2.1 amps. The 2nd port is 1 amp.
I was filming a lot of video on the tablet and I was able to plug this in and continue shooting all day.
I’m going camping in an area that does not allow generators so this will be perfect to keep me going for the weekend.
The Powerpak+ is very solidly built, perfectly silent, It has some heft but it isn’t very heavy. I could see this as being really handy for students, You wouldn’t always be looking to sit near an outlet in the library or class. Nice product, Fast Shipping, Overall good transaction

Great Charger... Review by Ayinde
Rating
The Good:
I owned a Zagg Sparq in the past for the sole purpose of charging my devices and it had less MAH and cost $50 more…I went through 3 of them, outlets broke, casings cracked, led lights stopped working, doesn’t charge as promised, etc.
This charger however does exactly what it is supposed to do…it charged my iPad Mini, Galaxy S4 and S3, Kindle Fire HD 7”, and regular Kindle fire without a hitch and seem to charge them pretty quickly too. It is awesome to have this much battery power with you on the go and not ever have to worry about your phone or tablet dying on you, you always have portable ready power. I also like that I can turn it on and off, when not in use to preserve its power unlike so others I have used.
I also absolutely love the design of this device, its small not too heavy and very rugged and resilient. I have tossed in and out of my backpack for the last 5 days, there no scratches, dings nicks of any kind. It has a nice Matte finish so I’m pretty sure it would stay free of scratches and signs of wear for quite a long time. Overall the build quality just feels so solid, not cheap feeling at all like some others I have used. This product was definitely made with the average active person in mind.
The Bad:
Unfortunately I have a few minor flaws to mention...
1. It should come with its own wall charger port for it specifically, instead of only a USB cable. Used the Apple and Samsung OEM wall chargers to try and charge the battery pack, but it made both wall chargers VERY hot, actually too hot to touch, especially the Apple one. I ended actually using the New Trent Dual Port high-speed USB AC wall charger, but not everyone has one of those, it got warm but never as hot as the others. I eventually settle on a Dexim 3rd party wall-charger I had lying around the house and it charged the battery pack without producing heat at all. Seemed to take a whole day though to charge from Blinking red to solid green. Charging with my laptop seemed to work too but it seems to take a lot longer than the wall charger.
2. The manual doesn’t seem explain very much, it gives very basics, like I couldn’t figure out how to tell if the pack was fully charged or not. Because when it goes from a blinking red light to a blinking green light, I thought is fully charged already when blinking green. I just didn’t know, so by accident I left it plugged in and realized that when it was full when the green LED didn’t blink anymore. Would have also like to have seen something about maybe not using an "Apple" Charger, because of different wattage if that is the case because it got REALLY hot, just overall the manual could be a little more informative.
3. Lastly it would be nice if there was a color coded light on the device indicating it’s charging your mobile devices, maybe if the light went a dull blue or red while charging a device to indicate the battery pack is still on and charging my phone. Then goes off when fully charged, just brainstorming. But now the box is just blank can’t even tell if it is still on without checking the device you are charging or pressing the button on the battery pack itself.
Overall this is a very solid charger with a few minor things that could be changed or implemented. So I still give it 4/5 rating because none of these flaws stop the device from doing what it is supposed to do which is to charge your devices, perfectly. It does do what it is supposed to do at a great price.

I have been using this product for two days. So far, I have charged my
iPhone 4 twice (once from 48% and once from 58%) and my iPad 4th Gen from
80% twice. The green indicator light is still displaying a full status! I
will take this charger with me every time I travel. This model is quite an
upgrade from the iCruiser IMP1000.
1. It's smaller
2. It charges using a micro USB connection. No need to carry an additional
power supply.
3. It has two ports. I charged the iPhone and iPad at the same time
4. It has a carry case that holds the charger and the cable
5. It is 13,500 mAH instead of 11,000 mAH
6. It is matte finish - no fingerprints

Wish list:
LED to indicate the unit is on.
Smaller and lighter - My guess is Trent can't break the laws of physics but
as long as I'm wishing.....

Update: It has now been about 12 days and I still have not had to recharge this device. I have charged my wife's iPhone 5 and topped off my iPad again. The LED is now blue which means it is less than 75%. It's like the Energizer bunny - still going! (Posted on 9/18/13)

This is an AMAZING product! A must have for either techies or average consumers who need their smartphone or tablet available at any given time. The PowerPak is small, sleek, sturdy and light weight. It can be thrown in any back or purse unnoticed. Its gives you 6 full charges or better and you can even your device while charging. Ive even gone as far to rig on up to a GoPro Hero 3 which is Notorious for draining batteries while in WIFI mode. With the PowerPak I get the extended shooting time as if it was plugged in the wall. The PowerPak eliminated the need for a car charger or keeping you in a awkward position because your tethered to a wall outlet. You can go sleep texting @ %1 and wake up to a battery @100 and it automatically shuts it self off when you have reached a full charge. This is a product everyone wishes they had but are unaware exists. I really do reviews but I love this thing... its my 2nd one, I'm pretty most will feel the same way. (Posted on 9/18/13)
Lots of charges for a low price! Review by Sarah

NB: Posted a similar review at Amazon, figured I'd post it here too.

I already own the an iCarrier, which I like and causes me no problems. I got the Powerpak to have a second charger around so my boyfriend could use one. Once I got the Powerpak I gave him the iCarrier, because I can get about one extra phone charge out of the Powerpak. At the same time I got the Powerpak, I also purchased a New Trent charger (IMP90C). I recommend getting the charger with the Powerpak for reasons described below.

The charge time for the Powerpak is reasonable; I plug it in to the IMP90C overnight and it charges with no issues. It charges faster with the IMP90C than when when plugged into my laptop, regardless of which USB port I use (2.0 or 1.0). I think the manual says to let it go for six to eight hours; I find a little more than eight hours is needed to charge fully, even when using the IMP90C. Once it is fully charged, the LED indicator will be solid (not blinking) green. One thing that was a little confusing is that the LED indicator switches from red to blinking green soon after plugging it in (maybe an hour or two). Initially, I thought that the Powerpak was more charged than it was - now I know that blinking green can mean charging anywhere between ~20% and 99% charged. Unlike other chargers I've used, the Powerpak did not get especially hot during charging, certainly not as hot as the IMP90C charger (which was hot but not dangerously so).

I can get a LOT of use out of this product on one charge. On the first charge, the Powerpak was able to charge my Samsung Galaxy S2 four times, and brought my iPad to 100% from 59%. On the second charge, it brought my iPad from 24% to 100%, my iPad's keyboard to full charge from the red, and I still got three and a half Galaxy S2 charges out of it. I purchased this charger in late June and have noticed no decrease in performance since then. I took this charger on a trip to Europe soon after I got it. What a lifesaver on an overseas plane ride! I could work on my iPad until it was mostly drained, get a nap while charging, and pick up on the iPad where I left off - no battery worries. I had no issues with charging even using European power. I also moved cross-country recently. I charged it before the move, packed it up, and then tested it when the movers arrived with my stuff three weeks later. It held the charge well - I was able to get five and change smartphone charges on it. Capacity-wise, this little Powerpak does the job and then some - no complaints at all!

Compared to the iCarrier, I have an easier time sliding the Powerpak into my crowded backpack. I think the rectangular shape of the Powerpak is a more versatile shape than the square of the iCarrier, especially in narrow bags. The Powerpak is slightly heavier than the iCarrier, but does not add substantial weight to my backpack. So I keep it in my bag at all times, unless I'm charging it.

The color scheme (all dark grey) on the Powerpak doesn't draw attention at meetings, which is an advantage over the iCarrier. However, one area where the Powerpak could use improvement is the contrast between the lettering under the USB ports and the background color. The "smartphone" vs. "tablet" labels are very hard to see, especially in low light. The lettering is grey on slightly darker grey background; I didn't even see the labels at first. I initially looked in the manual to see which port was for tablets, and only later noticed them. However, I learned pretty quickly which port was which, and I don't think it's worth deducting an entire star over.

The Powerpak comes with a little bag that keeps the unit clean and provides a place to store the cord. You'll want to keep the cord because the same one is used to charge the Powerpak and whatever non-iPad device you're charging. I probably would have lost the cord without the bag, so the bag is a good idea.

Bottom line: if you're looking for a lot of charges for not a lot of money, I highly recommend this product! (Posted on 9/17/13)
Must Have Review by Larry

In my work I spend a great amount of time in meetings and not close to any electrical outlet, it is not unusual for me to leave either my ipad or my iPhone 5 charging up in my office while I am away. Well the NT135T allows me to charge either item during the meetings. It weighs less than half a pound (.65lbs) and easily fits in my pocket so when my PED's are getting low on charge I set my NT135T right next to me on the table and plug in my equipment. If I'm not using both ports, others ask to charge their items at the same time. I was surprised how long the battery lasts as well, I find that I only need to top charge the NT135T at night and it is ready for a complete day of rather consistent use.
This is a must have for anyone like me that was constantly having my PED's run out of charge during the day. I am confident that anyone that purchases this item will be highly satisfied with its performance and the freedom it provides. (Posted on 9/17/13)

I use this for travel, I have no issues bringing this through TSA checkpoints and it keeps everything charged during long flights with no issues. I'm able to charge all my devices (iPhone 5, iPad 3 w/ LTE, PS Vita, and Beats Pill) and I really like how I can charge the pack with a microUSB cable (don't have to bring an additional charger/cable on the road). The quality is sound, there's no creaks or flex and while I haven't stress tested its ruggedness I don't have any reasons to doubt it would make a great companion on a camping or backpacking trip. It's Powerful! Review by Mary

I'm a mom on-the-go (and very active in social media) so when I'm at events live tweeting, taking pictures, and instagramming, my smartphone's battery won't last the entire day. I recently found New Trent's N135T Powerpak+. It's a little heavier than my old one, but it's definitely more powerful. With 13,500mAH charge power, I'm able to charge two devices at once (and I'm talking my iPad and iPhone with the two charge ports.) I've been testing it all week, and so far I love it. I've gotten 5+ charges from it without recharging it.

Here are some other interesting features:
* 50 hr+ Talk Time
* Weight: 289g (less than a pound)
* about 500 lifetime recharge cycles
* soft travel pouch included

ACCESSORIES
For something this powerful, you'll need a powerful charger like the New Trent NT90C Dual Port AC Charger. You might want to know the dual wall charger was ordered separately and no iPhone/iPad adapter was included.

I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5 because it's a little hefty for every day use but great for traveling! (Posted on 9/10/13)
Better than expected! Review by CiCi
Rating
4.5/5.0 star rating-The New Trent NT135T portable external battery is definitely a life saver for anyone who has ever been on the go and felt helpless when their smartphone and or tablet had little to no battery life remaining. The battery does not come with an AC charger or an adapter for Iphone/Ipad users but comes with a compatible USB cord as well as a small carrying case.

I received my battery fully charged, however was a bit confused because the LED light does not stay on to confirm any charging is taking place and initially I assumed the battery required additional charging. Since the battery comes with two USB ports, I immediately decided to charge both my Iphone 5 and my Ipad Tablet. My Iphone's battery was at 60% and in one hour was fully charged at 100%. My Ipad's battery life was at 42% and it took approximately 2 hours to restore it to a full charge. I actually expected both items to take longer to charge so was delighted that the battery exceeded my expectations. The next day I charged my Iphone when the battery life was at 6% and it too an hour and fifty minutes for the phone to reach 100%. My Ipad was at 17% and it took about three hours for my tablet to reach 100%.

Overall, I like the design of this battery and appreciate its charge capacity of 13,500 mah. I have yet needed to recharge the battery but I'm assuming after my next charge or two I will need to. The only con I have is the confusion of the LED lights which normally stay lit until charged or blink when in need of a charge, however this battery's LED doesn't do either and if that could be amended I would give this battery 5/5 stars.

Official NewTrent Powerpak+ 13,500 MAh Portable Battery (NT135T) Review Review by GeekHelpingHand

(Posted on 9/6/13)

NT135T is an amazing portable battery! It is a little heavier than an old version that I purchased a few years ago but I few that the NT135T has a much more durable case and the charging time on my HTC One was cut almost in half with the new 2.1 Amp charging port! I love that there are both a 2.1 and 1 Amp charging ports and that the "in" port to charge the battery pack is the common phone charger mini usb. Lightweight Powerhouse! Review by Eric
Rating
I've been a user of an unnamed "phone case" battery pack for a while. I disliked the size and weight it added, plus the options weren't all that great. On a whim I decided to try the New Trent PowerPak+ (NT135T). I had a week long conference coming up and power was a premium.

Upon receipt the packaging was simple but contained a decent amount of information about the product at the same time. It comes with the battery, a cloth case, instruction manual, and a USB charging cable. Note, there's no wall charger included, only a USB cable. Doesn't matter, works great with the New Trent IMP90C, or an iPhone wart.

The NT135T is light weight but feels sturdy, certainly isn't heavy. I doubt you could throw it across a room and it survive, but it would certainly withstand a fall from a few feet. It was partially charged upon receipt, although the packaging says to charge it fully once opened. I did this and using an iPhone wart it took about an hour to fully charge up out of the box. Once complete I packed it into my carry on for my trip.

TSA didn't even blink at the battery, and they shouldn't. It is Li-Ion so some people do worry about that in their carryon. This battery is totally within the regulations and you shouldn't worry. You are allowed a maximum of two (2) in your carryon bag per FAA regulations. However, you should not put this in your checked luggage. Li-Ion batteries are not allowed in checked bags per FAA regulations. I'm not saying they would pull it out of your bag, or that others haven't done it without issue, just telling you what I know. Your mileage may vary, etc.

On site at my conference I carried the NT135T in my messenger bag. I noticed no additional weight to the bag, and I go light. In fact twice I had to stick my hand in the bag to ensure I didn't forget the battery. That should tell you something right there. Multiple times my iPhone 5 ran very low (less than 20%) and I sprung my NT135T into action. You need to carry the iPhone lightening cable with you to plug into the NT135T to charge your phone. I charged it four times with no issue. The entire week I went on a single charge on my NT135T and at no time did I worry about running out of juice. There might have been enough left for another charge, but four was all I needed. Personally I was impressed. To get four charges on my iPhone 5 out of a single charge on my NT135T is exactly what I wanted when I settled on this model.

The only real issue, well observation I suppose, is the charge indicator light. There's a single light that changes colors based upon the charge in the battery. I think most people, including myself, prefer a graduated indicator of some sort representing levels of power. In the end it's just a light, and if it's green then you're at 75%+ charge on the battery. If you had graduated lights it would be 3-4 lights. You don't get any finer detail out of more lights, it's just a brain thing.

In closing I would recommend the NT135T to anyone. In fact I recommended it to several while at the conference. All were impressed with the size and weight, and several of them had older New Trent batteries already. You will not be disappointed with this product. (Posted on 9/1/13)

I loved the NT135T power pack. It was so much smaller than i originally expected. The battery life lasts for more than one charge which is really nice, i can charge my iPad twice and my iPhone up to five times.

It's perfect for charging devices while camping! I convinced my brother to get one as well as he does a lot of rock climbing and hiking trips. I love that i can charge my iPhone and my iPad at the same time with both of the recommended amps. excellent powerful battery pack Review by Nitin

The "New Trent NT135T PowerPak+, Dual usb ports with 13,500mAh battery capacity" is a very powerful battery pack. Although powerful, the weight of this battery pack is surprisingly very less. This battery pack comes with a USB to micro-USB cable. The inbuilt micro-USB port is the charging port where USB side can go to any wall charger or a laptop. If you reverse this cable then USB side of the cable goes to one of the two USB inbuilt ports & the other end, i.e. micro-USB, can easily fit into several devices such as phones, tablets etc. (i'm using it for charging my Samsung Note 2). The two USB inbuilt ports has power rating that is clearly written as "1 A for smartphones" & "2.1 A for tablets". If you have another cable, then you can use both ports simultaneously. Also, It has a nice green LED light, that is not distracting, which glows while charging the battery or while using the battery to charge other devices.

I've tested this battery pack since last five days. I charged it for the whole night when it arrived. After that i've been using it till today (5 days) to charge my Samsung Note 2. It has successfully recharged my phone from 50% to 100% five times and has not yet required any recharging. This clearly shows that this battery pack is very good for scenarios like long flights, hiking trips etc. where using applications like games, watching videos or using google maps could easily eat up the mobile/tablet's battery. Overall this has performed very well so far for me and i will highly recommend this battery pack to anyone who is looking to keep using phone/tablets for long durations without bothering about which application to use and which application to manually shut down to conserve the device's charge. I love this portable battery Review by Adam

The NT135T is a hearty portable battery. It's got enough juice to last my 1700mAh phone battery several times over, but while using with my 11,000mAh iPad, it's enough for an extra charge on my phone. I am very satisfied with the portable battery overall. I believe that the weight justifies itself with the amount of extra juice it carries. My favorite feature is the easiness of turning it on. The button firmly clicks and a green light pops on, or another color for a lower battery, and then you're charging! On a previous device, you had to hold down the power button for 5 seconds before it began charging. I would change the charging indicator LED to stay on during charge, or even flashing during the charge every second, so that I know when it is definitely charging or not. Currently it will briefly stay on during the first seconds of charging the device. Nothing about the construction of the device concerns me. It is very well built including the dual USB ports. I would like to know some more details concerning the amount of charge left in the battery. For example, the LED is green when fully charged, blue when half-full, red when low and off when empty. The instructions could come with more details like green is 13500 to 9000mAh, blue is 9000 to 4500mAh and red is 4500 to 0mAh. Overall, I am very satisfied with the PowerPak+ just like I am with my other NewTrent products. (Posted on 8/29/13)
High Capacity, Great Device Review by Adrian
Rating
Appearance:
- Size wise the unit is approximately the same footprint as an iPhone 5 and a little over twice as thick. It easily fits into a bag, purse or backpack.
- Color is a black/grey combination.
- The charge button is located on one of the "cropped" corners.
- The Powerpak microUSB charging port and USB charging ports are located on one of the short edges making for easy access.

Pros:
- 2 charging ports (2.1A for tablets and 1A for smartphones). Both my iPad and iPhone can be charged simultaneously. The 1A port for your smartphones and the 2.1A port for tablets.
- Universal microUSB PowerPak charging port. Cables are easy to find if you forget to pack yours.
- 2 second push required to enable charging button. I also have the older IMP50D charger and I carried it in my pack, the unit would get accidentally turned on by something bumping the button. The longer delay virtually eliminates accidental activation.
- Large 13500 mAh capacity.
- Surprisingly light (for a battery). Approximately 10 oz compared to the iPhone 5 at approximately 4 oz.
- The PowerPak will charge an iPhone 5 approximately 6 times before requiring a recharge. (I was able to get six 97% full charges with enough left for a partial). See reason below for the 97% charge.

Cons:
- This is not something that will fit comfortably in your jeans pocket. Unless of course you have large cargo pockets.
- No active "Phone charging" indication, you need to look at the phone/tablet to see if it's charging.

Neutral:
- Powerpak being charged indicator. The LED blinks red, blue and green as it charges and is solid green once full. It provides you with a general state of charge.
- No active indication of battery level. You need to push the button to see the LED color indicator.
- If charging the iPhone 5 alone, it will not fully charge. I spoke with the techs at NewTrent who told me that once the iPhone 5 gets to approximately 95% it will go into a trickle charge state to avoid overcharging the battery. The PowerPak will sense the drop in voltage and shutdown. My phone would consistently charge to approximately 97% then stop. NewTrent techs say it's normal. This will not happen if you are dual charging and one of the units connected is still in a charging state (I had my iPhone 5 and iPad charging simultaneously and my iPhone would charge to 100%).
- A full battery will provide an iPad (charged alone) with approximately 90% charge.

Overall Impressions:
I like the styling of the unit. The "cropped" corners give it an aesthetic appeal.
I was able to charge my iPhone multiple times, I didn't have to worry about charging the PowerPak right after using it to charge my iPhone.
Although it couldn't fully charge my iPad I was impressed with the 90% increase.

On a scale from 0-10 (10 being the best) I would rate this unit an 8. (Posted on 8/29/13)

This portable battery charger has a 13,500 mAh capacity, can be recharged approximately 500 times, and can charge two devices at one time. That said, I must admit I enjoyed testing (playing with) this product when I first received it. It arrived partially charged so I charged it overnight (using my New Trent Dual Port AC Charger - Model NT90C) and then started having fun. (For testing purposes, I had let all my portable devices run out of power.) I charged my smartphone. No problem. I charged my tablet. No problem. I charged my Kindle. No problem. All devices were fully charged and the NT15T Powerpak+ still had power. I let all the devices run down and then started playing again. I charged my smartphone and tablet at the same time. Both charged easily. I ran down my smartphone and then recharged it at the same time as my Kindle. Both charged easily. I charged my smartphone again, alone, and only then did I notice the Powerpak+ showing it was getting
ready to need recharging. That's a lot of charging to me, an average non-techie type person. I can see my husband and I taking a three and a half hour the flight to Vegas and using our devices non-stop the entire way. Non-stop being the key word. TSA allows portable battery chargers on airplanes so you should have no problem at all playing Candy Crush or watching Titanic to pass the time. Both you AND your spouse, or friend. The Powerpak+ has a nice matte finish which has a nice feel and doesn't show fingerprints. This isn't the kind of unit you would ordinarily carry in your purse of in a pocket to help you get through the day. It is much more heavy duty. I can see it really coming in handy for overseas travel. It comes with a micro USB cable and soft carry pouch. This charger does what it says it can do. I like that these days!

I received my New Trent PowerPak NT135T today. Super-fast shipping from IdealPoint and item was packed well. The packaging is nice with a pop-out box detailing the product inside. Instructions are simple and very easy to read. Inside the box is the PowerPak, cable, instructions, and a cool carrying bag for storage while in the car, luggage, desk, etc. What a great surprise!!

The PowerPak works GREAT! Charged my iPhone in seemingly minutes. Worked perfectly with my iPad also!

It is small and easy to pack along. The size is only a little larger than the iPhone (just a bit thicker).

No wall-charger in the box, but I simply used the iPad charger to charge the PowerPak. Can also use PC or another wall-charger or USB-Based charger.

A GREAT BUY and I'm glad I made this purchase. (Posted on 8/28/13)

I am so happy I finally found a dual charger that can actually handle charging two devices! I've spent a lot of time and wasted so much $$$ on dual chargers that would work fine charging ONE DEVICE yet peter-out when another device was plugged in.

I know...a novel idea; a dual charger that actually charges...ummmm...TWO devices. Anyway, the NewTrent IMP90C does exactly what it is supposed to do and with ease! I am now able to charge two devices as quickly (if not quicker) than single OEM chargers.

Another great product from NewTrent! They seem to have actually listened to customers and put out great products that WORK AS PROMISED !! (Posted on 8/28/13)

The power pack is a great essential for any person who has a smart phone or a tablet. It has a sleek design and simple instructions. In one charge Of the power pack i got 7 charges on my iPhone. Over all this product was fantastic. But there were a few things I didn't like. One of the things I didn't like was the size of the device. Because the device was so big it was hard to fit into a pocket for travel. Another thing I didn't like was the 3 light signal. Instead of 1 led light with different colors there should be 4 led lights that signal the fullness of the battery. (Posted on 8/28/13)
Extends Your Power For Hours Review by Jorge

My iPhone 4S has really shown its age lately suffering from a battery that does not hold a charge for longer than half a day with normal use. The NT135T PowerPak Plus gives it enough juice to last all day plus 4 times over. The pack itself is really well made. It took about 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery pack, but you will probably only need to do it once a week. The dual charging ports made it very convenient to not only charge my iPhone, but also my iPad Mini as well. It does seem to take a bit longer to fully charge a iPad, but overall it does the job well.

The only downside I noticed is the weight of this battery pack. It was a little bulky carrying around in my jean pockets. Overall I am completely satisfied with this battery pack and I believe the little bit of extra weight it adds is completely worth it to all the extra battery juice you will be able to use to charge your devices. I feel confident I could rely on this battery pack in any situation without having to worry about looking for a power outlet to charge my device. (Posted on 8/28/13)

Charging on the go with New Trent PowerPak+ Review by Jaime

I love the PowerPak+ because I am too busy to sit next to an outlet while my phone charges. I use my phone all day, everyday, and I need to be able to charge it wherever I am.

I love it also because it holds multiple charges so I can charge my phone several times before I have to charge the PowerPak+ again. It is also very convenient because it has more than one port for charging multiple devices at the same time. When your device is charged, the PowerPak+ automatically shuts off to not waste power.

The only drawback is that the PowerPak+ is a little heavier than my other portable charger, but it is worth it to have multiple charges available for my phone. (Posted on 8/27/13)

This is a great item. Nice and compact and well built. Has two USB ports so you can charge more than one device at a time. To test it out I used it to charge up my Galaxy Note II to see how many times I could charge it. It recharged the battery almost three complete times. Was very impressed with the amount of power it has. Can use the charging cable to charge my Note so didn't need to carry any extra cables. Great to have in case of emergency. Only thing I would change is instead of one singe light indicator for amount or charge left, I would change it to a bar indicator or lights to have a better idea of how much charge is left. Otherwise I am very pleased with it. (Posted on 8/27/13)
New Trent NT135T powerpak+ Review by Vickie

This powerpak battery pack is wonderful. It holds a charge for an
extensive period of time (I got at least 48 hours out of one charge to the
pack as well as recharging my phone multiple times in that time period.)
This battery pack is also nice because it allows for multiple devices to be
charged at the same time (cell phones and iPads/tablets). The battery pack
is very sturdy and stable and comes with a bag for carrying the device
around. The battery pack does have a little bit of weight to it, but that
is to be expected due to the nature of its use. The biggest complaint I
have about the device is that I do not feel that it is easy to tell whether
the device is on or not and whether or not it is fully charged and is
charging devices. According to the instructions, the different colored
lights (red, blue, and green) are the indicators of the charge, but I think
it would be more "user-friendly" if the lights always remained on and the
indication of the strength of the charge was made by the length of the
light (or bars). I believe that most devices indicate battery strength in
that manner, so that is what the consumer is used to when looking for
charge strength. Furthermore, I would turn on the battery pak and plug a
device in and after a while, the light would go off, but it seemed to still
be charging the device. So that seemed to be inconsistent with the LED
indicator instructions. All in all, the LED indicator issue was a minor
inconvenience and this device is reliable and easy to use. (Posted on 8/27/13)

Overview: This is a great product for its size and how much charge it is able to hold. this powerpak+ is especially great if you are on the run having to call and text your clients or friends or your beloved mother for hours a day, which your phone, whichever the brand, cannot seem to handle. I would recommend this product.

Love it!
- It is very compact. it is comparable to two iPhone 5s stacked, which may seem bulky but if you can charge unto 6 times, I think it's worth it.
- on-the-go: I hate having to plug in and out of the car charger, let alone having to sit/stand close to the wall of the room simply because "my phone is dying". with this, you can put powerpak+ on your lap or in your bag and still access the phone. plus, even if you are close to the wall, a lot of the times the cord will not reach. I think this is the best part of the powerpak+ for me- I don't have to tilt my head to speak into the phone in the car, nor do I have to think about sitting in certain places because of my dying phone.
- Well prepared- I like that New Trent put in the Micro USB charging cable for not only charging but for Androids. Personally I have apple products, but I like the little touch of thoughtfulness! Also, the instructions are very clear and helpful for even people without much gadget knowledge.
- Two ports: I love that this charger has two ports so that I can charge my iPhone/iPad, iPhone/ iPhone case, iPad
/ iPad case, etc. great feature.
- I like the simple and slick the design on the battery and the pouch!

Improvements?
- Wall Charger: I realize that the dual port charger is on the special offers, but if I was purchasing this separately, I would need a wall charger that would take in USB. I fortunately have the iPhone wall charger as well as the New Trent dual port charger, but I think it would be nice to have it be added.
- Speed: Expectedly, gadgets do charge a bit more slowly when using Powerpak+ as opposed to when charging on the wall directly. but I can see the battery charging pretty well as I am playing a video on my iPhone while my iPad is also being charged at the same time.

Conclusion: I think I will make a good use of it, especially as I become more active user of my gadgets at work. I like the versatility that Powerpak+ provides. (Posted on 8/27/13)

I had this for trips and long rides, as well as studying without finding a power port in the library. It's very useful, and the build quality seems to be good.

The lights indecatoindicators are simple, however, you need to charge it more than its suggested, around 12hrs enable to get a full charge.

The 2.1amp port worked well chanrgichanging my Galaxy Note 2,as it has an powerful aftermarket battery, around 9300mAh,and almost charge it fully.

I like that it has a nice pouch, and a Micro usb cable.

This is my 2 New Trent battery, as I have had a 10,000mAh battery which still works great after 3years of traveling and everyday usage. And I really like my experience so far.

This is my second New Trent high capacity backup battery systems. I loved my first one, the IMP120D, but now that one is going to my wife, and I'm keeping TN135T. I have to say I really like the newer design. It's a little thinner and longer than the 120D and it has a really nice rugged finish. I don't have to worry about bumping or scratching the outer case, because it's made out of some scratch resistant material just like in its description.

I've had it for about a week now, and still I haven't drained all the power out of it yet. I've recharged, my iphone a couple of times and partially recharged my ipad. Everything is working as described. The light is still green when I use it so I think I still have many more recharges in it.

I really like the slim profile of this charger. It fits well in my jeans pocket and jacket pockets. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is a power user on their phones or tablets and don't want to be caught running out of juice. This is a must have, especially when you're on the road and don't have access to an power outlet. (Posted on 8/24/13)

I've used the external battery over the past few days for some of my different devices (iPhone 4S, iPad mini, HP Touchpad, Galaxy S3) and have had great results with each product. I've completely charged each device at least once so far and the battery seems to still have plenty of juice left to charge more. I like the fact that it charges the devices quickly, sometimes external devices charge electronics at a slower rate via USB cable, but not this battery, it works just as quickly as plugging it into an AC outlet. The build quality of the battery itself is great too. It's heavy, but not too heavy where it becomes burdensome to carry around. Just enough to feel substantial. It has helped me out in a couple situations where my battery has been running low on my phone and tablet and I am away from home and a power outlet. I do not have to worry as long as I have the battery with me. It's nice having two charging ports that I can use to charge my iPhone and my fiancee's Galaxy S3. I don't have anything negative to say thus far about this product and would recommend it highly to anyone seeking a reliable, long-lasting external battery pack. (Posted on 8/24/13)

New-Trent-NT120T-chargeable-Thunderbolt Review by Michael

I purchased the Thunderbolt and have been using is for little over a week now, and this accessory is a must-need item for anyone who is online with their mobile devices constantly. I used it to charge my iPad, iPhone5, Galaxy III and my Asus Tablet. I like to separate work from personal stuff and have tendency of not turning off items after using them. Off the bat, out of box, I was using this battery. While I do use it to charge my units, I end using it as a primary power source more often than not, and it works great!
Pros
Cost - I use to travel with an Eveready Power pack and some tubular device that cost combined twice the amount of this one device.
Convenience - It compact size makes it an easy device to carry around in a pack. Because of its size, the weight is non- factor, even though I can’t physically tell the difference charged versus depleted.
Power - I was surprised of how much power 13,500 is. I’ve used partial charge on multiple devices over multiple days before the unit light displayed red.
Temperature - Surprisingly, the unit did not increase in temperature while using. My tubular device doubled as a hand warmer.
Cons
Lights - While the unit hold a great charge, the color code isn't desirable. I like a bar.
Charger – None. Seems to be the norm with accessory purchases. I used a purchased dual charger and it worked great. However, do not charge using a PC. It seemed like the green light would never stop flashing that the unit was at full charge.
Port Markings - You would need a microscope to see the writing on under the ports. A larger 2.1A and 1A would make life much easier.
Container - While it looks solid, I am not bought on its durability. If I slightly squeeze my unit, the case bend a little more than expected.
Ok, I was being a little picky because that availability of mobile power that this unit provides for the cost, makes this a great unit to own! On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best, ITS a 5.

Excellent Battery Charger Review by pcs9k

The NT135T portable battery is pretty flexible using a Micro USB input port for charging the battery rather than a dedicated AC adapter. You can actually charge the battery using a USB adapter (like the IMP90C) or with a USB port off a PC, laptop, or USB hub, etc.

Charging is pretty straight forward once you connect the supplied micro USB cable to a USB source as mentioned above. The single LED will flashing green as the battery is charging and a solid green once the battery is fully charged. The battery input is rated and limited at 5V/1.5A. You want to use a power adapter that is rated at least 1.5A otherwise it will take longer to complete a charge. A full charge took about 8-9 hours.

I have charged an iPad3 at 20% and still have plenty of power to keep my iPhone charged over a couple of days which is good as the NT135T is rated at 13,500mAh, The battery is very stable as the external case doesn’t feel warm or hot while charging or being charged. The battery had no problem charging an iPad and iPhone or two iPhones simultaneously. The battery can actually charge two iPads simulteously although the iPad charging off the USB port for smartphones (5V/1A) will take longer to charge.

There is one interesting thing about how the LED works while charging a device that may be confusing at first. The LED does not continuously flash to indicate the charging status nor does the LED stay on to indicate that charging is complete. The LED stays on for a several seconds to indicate charging has started but that is it.

I was used to having a continuous LED status during the charge and a solid LED at the end from owning other battery chargers. I ended up inadvertently turning the charging off by pressing the button thinking that was going to provide some status but that is not how this battery works. The best way is check on the charging status is to simply look at the device being charged for status. Just a different way of doing things, no big deal.

Overall the NT135T is a very solid portable battery that is easy to use and has gobs of power capacity.

The New Trent PowerPak+ is one of the best and most useful mobile accessories I've ever used. I enjoy using my Galaxy S4 and Nexus 7 immensely, but I'm a power user and battery life is always a problem for me. The PowerPak+ changes everything. The battery packs a huge amount of power into a small lightweight device that is easy to use and quite portable.

The PowerPak+ has allowed me to charge my tablet and phone many times, giving me hours and hours of continuous use. In addition to plenty of power, the battery includes several cool features. It has Dual-USB ports, so I don't have to choose which device charges first. Another useful feature is the auto-shutoff feature, I love that I don't have to worry about turning off the battery to conserve power.

The straightforward design and rugged feel make the device a solid piece of tech that can travel with me anywhere I go, confidently and securely.

While there are many large capacity USB phone chargers out there, nothing can match the power, portability, and convenience that the PowerPak+ brings. New Trent is king when it comes to powering your gadgets on the go!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pros:
-Huge Battery Capacity
-Easy to use

-Dual USB Ports
-High Voltage output for both smartphones and tablets

-Automatically powers off when device(s) are charged
-Lightweight and Portable (fits in your pocket)
-Very Cool glowing charge indicator light
-Charges easily with a MicroUSB
- Overall cool operation (barely heats up)
-Sleek rugged form factor
-Good quality (feels solid)
-includes a MicroUSB Cable

Cons:
My only complaint is that the carrying bag that's included
doesn't feel it goes with such a premium product, I think a zip up pouch/case
would go better with this product even (even if you
sold some separately)

My friend was interested in the battery when he saw it and I had him try it out on his tablet (ASUS Transformer TF300).
Unfortunately, it didn't work, he tried both ports but the tablet didn't even detect any power at all. I think it is because the tablet requires a little more than 2A, since it has the keyboard dock to connect to. Other than those minor issues, the product is perfect.

Overall:

The New Trent PowerPak+ is an exceptional product, bringing loads of power, an intelligent lightweight design and a reasonable price tag. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to stay connected, on the go without having to worry about their batteries dying.

Keep up the good work New Trent! (Posted on 8/13/13)

PowerPak+ [NT135T] Is a Powerhouse! Review by Aaron

Out of the box the NT135T charged up quickly and performed admirably to charge up both my Galaxy S4 (using the 2.1A output) and my iPhone on my initial test. I'd run both phones to approximately 10% battery left to get a good test. Even with the ZeroLemon 7500mAh battery for the S4 the Powerpak+ was able to fully charge both phones and still have enough power left to charge my wife's Galaxy S4 while we were out. Since the initial tests I've used it several times throughout the week to keep the iPhone up and operational despite some very long days. (Posted on 8/10/13)
More powerful than I imagined. Review by Chang
Rating
I received the PowerPak+ around 2 days ago and was pleasantly surprised
when it came fully charged out of the box. It's not as bulky or heavy as I
expected, and I just LOVE the ridged texture--the device feels as sturdy as
a bunker. So far, I've used it to charge both my iPad mini & Droid 4
smartphone from 0 to 100%, and it's still not drained yet. I guess 13,500
mAh is really a significant upgrade from New Trent's baby iTorch and
Travelpak series.

All in all, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who's
incredibly busy and on the go; you'll probably only have to recharge this
baby once per week to keep it up and running, and that's a relief for
people who are short on time. One charge cycle does take a whopping 12
hours though, so you might wanna charge it before it's *totally* drained.

5/5 stars. Would buy another one, but I only own 2 devices, so this is
ample power for me. (Posted on 8/9/13)
works as expected, with minor omission Review by Dan

It serves the purpose very well. Quick and sufficient supply of electricity to our smartphones and tablet. Clear color LED indicates the battery level. Besides, the battery pack doesn't feel very warm when in operation --- this is quite a plus if one leaves the pack near oneself, or in a bag. The device is likely larger and definitely thicker than a smartphone, but the size is still acceptable given its capacity.
The only drawback is that despite such a large size, there is no built-in plug or cable --- the included micro-USB/USB cable is required for both charging and discharging. To charge the NT135T on a wall socket, an additional AC to usb adapter is needed. (Posted on 8/9/13)

I have only had this product for about a week. I have charged it once and have been charging my iPhone and iPad from it almost daily. I still have not had to recharge it yet. This battery pack has performed way better than I expected. I have another battery pack that I purchased several months ago and it will only charge up my iPhone for one day (not many like this one is doing).

It is smaller than I thought it would be. The carrying case that comes with it is a nice touch too.

The one thing that took some getting used to is the fact that you need to push the power button to start charging a device but I have gotten over that.

Amazing device, never go powerless again! Review by Eric
Rating
In short, this device is wonderful. It is wisely designed to be able to fit into a pocket or purse without much trouble, which is key for a portable item such as this. The fit/finish and materials of construction are both excellent. I also like the design cues, sort of industrial and sturdy-looking. It holds up well to traveling in a backpack with other items and they did not mar or scratch the surface after a 10-day trip.

The extra capacity (13500mAh is huge!) compared to competing devices in this price range is great and it feels like it has even more juice than it holds. I partially charged a few devices several times, and it did not even drop down from a green light to blue (which is one step down from 100%). It never drained completely even after 10 days of on again, off again use.

Also, I like how the 2 USB ports are labeled so you know which is which. One of them delivers more output for charging tablets and the other is more for cell phones so it helps to tell them apart.

The cloth bag it comes with is also nice, it feels like high quality material.

I used to fret and worry about my cell phone dying when I was on a vacation and using my phone all day for walking navigation, checking in, web browsing, etc with no AC outlets in sight. My worries are completely gone now due to this wonderful product.

One last thought: this will come in handy when the power goes out at my house. I plan to keep it charged up as much as I can for when that day comes. No more sitting in the dark afraid to use my devices to kill time, I'll just plug them into the New Trent :) (Posted on 8/6/13)
Piece of mind when traveling Review by Ashley

(Note: I ordered through Amazon and posted the review there too.)

When I head to the airport for a long trip (which typically consists of a layover) I like knowing I have a power pack that will recharge both my 10-inch Xperia Z tablet and Galaxy S3 smartphone from less than 2% to 100%, and still have enough juice left to charge my phone from basically nothing to 30%.

And when I performed the test to see how good this thing it, both devices were turned on -- the phone was always searching for a network (cause Verizon isn't as great as they'd have you believe) and the tablet's battery optimizer was turned off.

I was also pleased with how quickly the power pack recharged my devices. The phone took around the same time as when I plug it into an AC outlet, but the tablet actually seemed to charge faster, which I didn't expect.

When I was just using the device to recharge my phone, I was able to recharge it to 100% from less than 5% several times on one charge of the power pack.

The build quality is very good, though the ridged outer surface doesn't have the same premium feel as my New Trent NT70T (which I carry in my purse all the time and love immensely).

What's really impressive in comparing the NT135T and the NT70T is how much more capacity the 135 has, even though it's not that much bigger. I'll stick to the smaller one for my purse, especially since it has built-in cords, but the 135 is great to keep in my messenger or laptop bag.

The one thing I'd like to see change is that there is no indication of when the power pack itself is fully charged. The flashing LED changes from red to blue to green for low, medium, and high but that's it -- it just keeps flashing green as long as you leave it plugged in. Not a deal breaker, however.

This is a great product, especially for travel. Oh, and it comes with a nice pouch to carry it in. (Posted on 8/4/13)

A friend turned me on to this product and its great for people on the go who don't have enough time to charge ALL their devices. I love its portability and the amount of charge you get is amazing! Wish it came with a wall charger included though. (Posted on 8/2/13)
NT135T PowerPak Review by Christopher

The first thing I checked after opening the product,
was how easy it was to fit the USB and charger into their proper ports on the
product. They went in very smoothly with no problems first try.
Just looking at the product I can tell it is more durable than many of the
previous ones I have use. It did seem a bit brick-like though (a little
bulky and wasn't able to be carried around in your pocket like the
iGeek). The life of this product off of one charge is quite
amazing. This battery charged my devices to 100% many times before
needing to be charged (using it a few hours a day, it lasted 5 days) and it
also charged my devices faster than other products intended to do the same
thing. I really enjoyed how the NT135T turns itself off after your device is charged up to 100% so it doesn't waste any energy on a fully charged device. I think this product is quite awesome if you have a bag you can keep it in, and it definitely fit my needs most of the time.

Only things I think could really have been improved on are the battery gauge LED (hard to really tell how much life is left on the battery) and maybe if it were a little less brick-like. Other than those minimal issues, this product is pretty awesome!

I am very satisfied with the product and can say
that it lives up to just about all of my expectations and needs (and even
exceeds some of them). I use it on go and even take it in to work with
me.

Great Product Review by Jared

This battery system is exactly what I was looking for in a battery charger. It is charged by a standard micro-USB cable, so there aren't any problems with proprietary charge cables, it has a pretty serious capacity for the price (13,500 mAh when an iPad battery is only 11,560 mAh and 9,000 mAh for Nexus 10) and a 2.1A and a 1A charge port to charge a phone and a tablet simultaneously. It feels nice and sturdy (like a brick) and is fairly compact. I won't be showing it off at an electronics fashion show or carrying it in my pocket, but it really is only about as big as 3 smartphones stacked and it has a certain utilitarian poise. I've charged my iPad, Nexus 10, and phone all at once several times and this battery handles the charge times exactly the same as plugging in to a wall outlet. Great Product. (Posted on 7/31/13)
The NT135T is a great all-day-out companion Review by Raymond

The NEWTRENT powerpak+ 13,500mAh capacity box is nice and informative. One side has generic pictures of electronics that you can charge using the powerpak. If you have a problem as soon as the product arrives, you don’t even have to open the box as the website, telephone number, and support link are on the box. The box also lists product specs, and items inside.

The powerpak itself does not look or feel stunning. Hard plastic feels like the kind that you’ll see in lower-end car dashboards. There are 4 round hole-covers that would have passed as rubber non-slip ‘feet.’ However, they don’t really come in contact with the surface so I’m guessing they are just screw covers.

I start out simultaneously charging two of my previous phones: an HTC Nexus One (N1) and a T-Mobile LG myTouch4G. When the 2.1 USB port was free, I charged my current phone, the HTC One 32GB. Because I was running out of electronics to charge, I used up the remaining juice from my Sony DSC-WX50 camera and charged it as well. Later on the day, I used up some juice on my primary phone and charged it again. I also found a 2nd battery of the camera so I charged that as well.

Charging performance is reasonable for the 1A port and fast on the 2.1A port. The manual advises charging bigger devices like tables with the 2.1A port, but I was told once that the charging capacity is limited by the device, not the power adapter – someone correct me if I’m wrong. The N1 had 50% battery charge when I started charging it with the powerpak’s 1A port – finished charging after about 1.5hrs. The myTouch 4G had 35% battery charge when I plugged it into the 2.1A port – finished charging in about 1.5hrs as well. Take note, the myTouch has a bigger battery (+160mAh) and lower starting charge compared to the N1 but finished charging in the same amount of time. The One started out with a 38% battery charge and was plugged in the 2.1A port. After about 1.5hrs it was at 90%. The camera’s 600mAh battery charged in about 1.5 hours on the 1A port. Even after all these devices charging, 4 devices but I charged the One and camera twice, the powerpak is showing blue LED meaning 30-60% left.

A few observations: while using both ports to charge, no significant heat can be felt. Likewise, while charging the powerpak, no significant heat is generated. The powerpak turns itself off as soon as the device is hits 100% - meaning you can’t leave the device externally powered as when you’re using a wall charger/pc. There is no led indicator that the powerpak is charging devices – although it will glow the color of % of powerpak battery left for about 5 seconds at startup. When I used a 5V/800mAh charger, the powerpak LED glowed solid green – meaning it is fully charged. However, when I connected it to a USB 2.0 outlet, it started charging.

The NT135T is a great all-day-out companion as it has enough juice to charge a small family’s devices, and some. Although pocket-able, I did not feel comfortable putting it in my pockets – either my pants were too tight, or I needed deeper pockets. The package came as advertised and performed great. I wish I had enough time to find out how many devices I can charge until it runs out of juice and so I can find out how long the powerpak’s charge time would be from empty. (Posted on 7/29/13)

This is my review of New Trent’s NT135T 13,500mah powerpak+. I have been using this powerpak for over a week now and I have to say without a doubt this is the best portable power source I have used up to date. I am one of those people you see with some type of wireless device in hand always. I have been charging my google nexxus and my iphone mostly with the device. I can make it thru the day with both wireless devices talking on the phone, playing games, watching movies and surfing the internet as well as other functions the devices are capable of. Never did I have to stop to plug in the powerpak thru out the day. Plug it in at night before I go to sleep and by morning I am good to go for the next day.

PROS
The large capacity of the battery
The device is well built and sturdy
The ability to charge the device with a standard USB cable.
Having both a 1amp and a 2.1amp charge ports
Capability to charge 2 devices at the same time
Charges devices faster than most chargers

CONS
Limited options of carrying the device

Improvements
A plastic holster or leather pouch with a belt clip with the capability to swivel.

So far I'm very impressed. This battery feels very sturdy, easy to grip, and very nice touch with the fingerprint resistant finish. Now as far as performance, this battery was able to charge my table at least twice along with my phone once on one charge, and still have charge to spare. It's great that it charges via micro USB rather than having it's own dedicated charger, means one less charger to keep track of. I also own their Dual Port High Speed Charger NT90C/IMP90C which comes in handy to charge this, but will charge using a PC as well. Loving the fact that this charger actually has the two ports clearly labeled, as you can now tell which is the tablet port vs. the phone charging port. No more guessing. This battery also has an auto shut off feature, which means that the second you disconnect your device from the charger, the battery will shut off on it's own, that way you're not wasting precious battery power. This battery definitely comes with a lot of power, 13500mAh, and will come in handy if you own any battery hogging devices. There's nothing worse than being out and about, and having you're device die on you at the worse time. I own several of Trent brand products and have been pleased with every purchase. I can't live without it now...I feel alive!!!! Review by Chad

Wow, what can I say but I LOVE NT135T. This has already proven to be a very capable tool to carry and will continue to be appreciated in my life.

I've used the battery to charge numerous items (some of them more than once) including my iPad, iPhone, Contour GPS Helmet Camera, Digital Camera, BlueTooth Headset and I'm sure even more will work. The best thing...I charged the NT135T and was able to charge all of these off a single charge...my iPhone and iPad also got charged more than once during this initial charge cycle.

The device is simple to use. It powers on through a push of the only button on the unit and powers off once my device has been charged. It can charge my iPhone/iPad and another device at the same time (it's important to note...there is a single 2.1A and 1A USB port. Both can be used at the same time, but you cannot charge 2 2.1A devices at the same time...ie: Not 2 iPads.)

For the amount of power it provides it is actually lighter than one would expect. Also, the indicator is very easy Green = Full or 3/3, Blue = Used 2/3, Red = Dying 1/3 and then just off. It took far more charging than I thought it would...a fun challenge, to get it to die.

The PowerPak (NT135T) also comes with a nice case to keep a couple cables and the PowerPak wrangled, solving a problem I always seem to have even without the PowerPak.

I have been able to successfully charge this with my laptop, great way to not carry yet another charging block. For when I'm at home I also have the New Trent NT90C Dual Port AC Charger...a great solid USB charging adapter that gives you not 1, but 2 -2.1A ports...allowing me to charge the PowerPak and my iPad (or any USB device) at the same time. Great way to make sure you have a charged PowerPak ready when you are rushing out the door along with a charged phone all in a nice sleek kit. (Posted on 7/24/13)

The NT135T is a very well built item, I am extremely impressed on how fast it charges multiple devices at once and holds it charge for a long time once fully charged. You can charge the NT135T anywhere that has a USB port (ex. Laptop, Computer, my favorite my Xbox 360.) The carrying case is nice too you can put the battery pack and you micro usb cable too. This PowerPak is a must have for anyone who constantly needing their electronic devices charged at all times. (Posted on 7/17/13)

As a ham radio operator portable power is important to me, and the NT135T is a beast when it comes to power with it's 13,500 maH's. It's really great having a power pack that's small enough to fit in my pocket (or wife's purse) with very minimal weight for the power I get. I guarantee that you won't have to worry about your portable devices running out of power away from home ever again. In an emergency situation (or even just a power outage at home) you will be so glad you have the NT135T in your possession. This truly is a remarkable power pack!!! (Posted on 7/13/13)

This Powerpak has worked wonders for me over the time that I have had it. My job requires me to be on the go and working days, nights, and weekends. This Powerpak allows me to charge both my smartphone and iPad at the same time in a quick and efficient manner. I am not sure how I ever lived without one of these devices. The first day I had this, I charged two Samsung cell phones completely, my IPAD generation I (from 46% to full charge in less than 4 hours) and my nexus 7. It's light weight and it has two available USB ports which are captioned as one being for a smart phone, the other is a tablet. The power button requires a deliberate pressure in order to turn it on, which is great. With my old new trent battery pack, I'd throw it into my purse and I'd have to check to make sure that it hadn't turned itself on and was discharging. My carpool buddy had a blackberry that was 'dead'. It wouldn't turn on after a night of being charged on her battery pack, so I offered the use of this. Within a few minutes, the phone was up and running. It's fortunate that there are two USB ports as I'm constantly being asked for a charge at my job. When charging, the phone displays a flashing light. My only small quibble with this is that I wished the led stayed on while it was charging a device. When I was charging my IPOD and my Galaxy SIII at the same time, the light was off, so I checked them both and they were charging. Highly recommended if you're based 'in the field' and not in the office and you need your cell phone or tablet. As a bonus there is a small bag that is included so you can keep all your cords for this pack together. (Posted on 6/29/13)
NT135T charges Nook HD+ tablets Review by Roger
Rating
NT Powerpack+ NT135T

Intro/history: I own an IMP120D from New Trent that has worked out well. It charges my wife's Nook HD+ and has charge left over to charge my iPad and iPhone on one charge as long as they are only down to 80% or so. To charge the Nook I used the supplied Galaxy table cable from the IMP120D. Without it the 120D doesn't charge the Nook. So in evaluating the NT135T I put it through the same tests. The 135 has a spec of more current and more power.

The manual: The manual for the NT135T is skimpy and is incorrect on certain things. The manual indicates that the LED that shows when charging the pack or when you check the power level is a round circle that is off/white when the pack is empty, red when the charge is low, blue when medium and green when fully charged/high. In fact the LED is a parallel sided ellipse that differs from the manual making it seem like the LEDs are in a line as separate LEDs, it is actually only one LED that changes color.

Usage: Charging from the AC adapter to the mini-USB is great. The mini-USB connector was a bit mis-aligned to the hole so I had to wiggle the cable to get it to attach to the power pack unit. Because this has a USB connector for charging itself, I tried charging it from my MacBookPro that was plugged into the wall. Not a good idea. My MacBook shut down the USB ports with an error message that says something like the USB port is drawing too much power. All USB ports are shut down until the problem is fixed. OK, so you can't charge the power pack from a USB computer, it must be connected to the wall. I never had this problem with the 120D because it does not charge itself from USB, it has a separate wall wart and round plug for charging. When the power pack was fully charged the green light came on solid. It was blinking while charging. After running it down the LED changes color to indicate how charged up from empty it is. I charged my wife's Nook HD+ which went from a 17% charge on the Nook to 100% and a green light on the Nook in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The Nook was on during that time so it probably would of charged faster had it been off. The Nook has an amber/green LED to indicate fully charged (green) or amber (charging). I noticed that if I checked the battery level on the power pack, I could accidentally shut off the unit so it wasn't charging the Nook or other devices. The Nook let's you know right away because the amber light goes out but when trying this on the iPad and iPhone, there is no charging LED so you have to actually look into the device to see the battery indicator as to whether it is charging or not. Minor pain. After charging the Nook for over 3 hours I tried to then continue charging an iPad from about 74% down. The battery indicator on the 135T was already blue indicating it was already mid way discharged. The 135 was able to charge the iPad up to almost 100% on what it had left but by that time the battery level indicator on the 135 was already red. When done, I charged the 135 back up from almost dead and it took about 6 hours. It almost seems like the 135 has less charge than the 120 but that is hard to tell because when using the 120, I did not run down the Nook HD+ to 17%, I almost always had at least a 70% charge.

Likes: I like the brick idea instead of the rounded look of the 120D. It does not get very warm when charging itself or other devices. Once you learn how to use it and recognize the manual is wrong, it is a very nice power pack. I like the size and thickness better than the 120D.

Dislikes: Don't like the battery check button that can inadvertently stop charging the devices without you really knowing that's what happened. I don't like the mis-alignment inside the hole of the mini-USB jack used for charging the brick. In fact since it can't be charged from a computer USB port, I would prefer a round type jack for charging with a wall wart. The NT135T does not come with a Galaxy tablet USB in/out short cable. In my tests with the Nook HD+, if I hadn't already known that the 120D works with that cable I would have to assume that the 135 doesn't charge the Nook. Including that short cable might be a good idea. They should be readily available though.

The best product on the market so far. Review by Dameon

I swear, the pack seems to charge itself! Not really, but it has so much power I forget when the last time I charged it. I would like to advise not to use the 2.1 amp charge port on phones. It is designed for tablets! Inside phones are small chips called charge controllers that can overheat and in time, short out due to high amperage being applied. I have changed out many charge controllers as a phone refurbished in my early years. The cosmetics of the battery are a great balance of sturdiness and style. I have other outstanding batteries such as the NT120C that has a gloss finish which I thought was susceptible to scratching but so far it has held up quite well, similar to gorilla glass upholds to scratching. With the NT135T you do not have to worry about scratches since the product is matted and textured with lines for better grip. The battery still slides smoothly into your pocket though. The battery back, as with all NewTrent batteries, I expect to hold up phenomenally. The oldest model I have is the IMP880 which has held a charge perfectly. My girlfriend uses it on a daily basis now and it is over a year old now. Overall the NT135T is the best product on the market so far. (Posted on 6/15/13)

This battery is impressive with the amount of power it supplies on a single charge. I was able to replenish my iPad a couple of times from 75/80% and my S3 from around 20/30% four times before I had to recharge the NT135T. It also worked to with the S3 docking station with a spare battery charging. Having been days without power before, I can't imagine not having this device around to keep my gadgets and such powered so that I can continue on with all of my games, news, and communication! It's definitely possible to survive a little more comfortably when Mother Nature is having a fit and you can't find an outlet and a climate controlled environment. (Posted on 5/17/13)
